Year 2015 in Recap

year_review

Oh joy, I’m bringing this back since it’s another year of madness. How did it go? Let’s check the number first, lol. Yes, before I start bragging and realized it wasn’t worth bragging over, lol. But before I actually go into the stats, I would like to thank The New World and iHero for making some of the impossibles happen. Because if it wasn’t for the dramas, I wouldn’t have updated so much or kept it so consistent for the better half of the year. Also, anyone wanting to check out the stat report from WordPress, click here.

Total Posts in 2015: 365 (35% of all time). Yes, I took a challenge of trying to keep up posts for 365 days SO had to brag here. It wasn’t easy and some posts were less impressing than others. However, I think it was already tough that I managed it all year long. For this year, will I be continuing on this pattern? I want to but I would say no. Since quality trumps quantity so I’ll still be updating, still be my random self at times, but I won’t force it as an everyday thing. If it happens, it happens. Now, moving on to the breakdown of different categories.

Times Updated on People on the Poll
: 284 (78% of overall). I took out Ady and Hu Ge early on so I didn’t feel like I needed to include them in this section. Anyway, because I did the 365-day challenge, everyone benefited–one way or another. However, Achel had a surge, leaving Jun Ya behind with only 22 posts, because Wallace, Joanne, Bianca, and Jacky ended up having more posts than him for the year. That knocked him off top 5 for the year yet didn’t damage his overall record too much. Talking about that, he was the reason why I held off so long of not publishing this post since I needed to calculate some of the posts again. Yet I decided to gamble and take out some and possibly double back next year to correct it all. Oh yeah, I didn’t count general updates for some people, especially those with higher numbers already.
Wallace Huo: 26 (9% of the year)
Janine Chang: 16 (6%)
Vic Chou: 12 (4%)
Joanne Zeng: 25 (9%)
Nicholas Teo: 18 (6%)
Xiu Jie Kai: 12 (4%)
Angela Chang: 12 (4%)
Zhao Jun Ya: 22 (8%)
Yvonne Yao: 7 (2%)
Penny Lin: 16 (6%)
Achel Chang/ Zhang Xin Yu: 34 (12%)
Sophia Chou: 6 (2%)
Ruby Lin: 16 (6%)
Van Fan: 9 (3%)
Eric Suen: 5 (2%)
Bianca Bai: 25 (9%)
Jacky Chu: 23 (8%)

Music Reviews:

Movies + TV Series Reviews/Episode Summaries: I will say that I was both proud and also a bit ashamed, because I was cheating for several dramas by inserting placeholders. I was trying to motivate myself to watch faster and/or fill the spaces yet things got in the way and I fell behind once again.

Fan Fiction:

Songs Translations: I think that it was too obvious that it was a Phil Chang year for me. Yes, I love that guy. Okay, mostly his songs, lol. But he is funny. Getting back to this, totally outdone myself on some levels. Overall, I translated 51 songs. OMG, that’s like major achievement for me in this area. The previous year, I only did 12, but that was because I didn’t really take it as a challenge. I think this number will drop the upcoming year since I won’t be forcing myself to update every day.

Chinese: 46

Vietnamese: 5

Side Updates: 130 posts – My randomness seriously has gone way past normal. I didn’t count some of the side stuffs. But The New World and iHero obviously dominated the scene for the beginning of the year.

For this year, I hope to bring out more quality posts, like I said earlier. I also hope to finish up the placeholder posts that I haven’t previously. Wish me luck and see you all next year!

Also, I’m not including any past relationships OR rumors. AND–yes, this is the last one–I’m dividing them by region since I was getting a headache trying to group ’em one way or another.

Song Title: Who Do You Want Me To Be? (你愛我像誰)

Music by: Chen De Jian (陳德建)

Lyrics by: Lin Xi (林夕)

Key:
Bold = Chinese
Navy Blue = Pin Yin
Light Purple = English

我甚麼都沒有 只是有一點吵
wo shen me dou mei you   zhi shi you yi dian chao
I don’t have much, just a little bit of disruptiveness
如果你感到寂寞 我帶給你熱鬧
ru guo ni gan dao ji mo   wo dai gei ni re nao
If you feel lonely, I could present you with some liveliness
為你繞一繞 沒有甚麼大不了 卻可以讓你微笑
wei ni rao yi rao   mei you shen me da bu liao   que ke yi rang ni wei xiao
Going around and about because of you, it’s no big deal, as long as it could make you smile

其實我很煩惱 只是你看不到
qi shi wo hen fan nao    zhi shi ni kan bu dao
Actually, I’m very troubled, it’s just that you can’t see it
如果我也不開心 怕你轉身就逃
ru guo wo ye bu kai xin    pa ni zhuan shen jiu tao
If I’m also unhappy, I fear that it would affect you thus causing you to flee
愛上一個人 一定要讓他相信 這世界多麼美好
ai shang yi ge ren   yi ding yao rang ta xiang xin    zhe shi jie duo me mei hao
Loving someone, one must let her believe that there are lots of beautiful things in this world
對每個人 都說還好 我的心我的青你不需要明瞭
dui mei ge ren    dou shuo hai hao   wo de xin wo de qing ni bu xu yao ming liao
Toward each person, always say fortunate things. My frame of mind, you wouldn’t understand.
只要我對你好 這樣的溫柔你要不要
zhi yao wo dui ni hao    zhe yang de wen rou ni yao bu yao
Just want to treat you well, that kind of gentleness, do you want it?

其實你愛我像誰 扮演甚麼角色我都會
qi shi ni ai wo xiang shui    ban yan shen me jue se wo dou hui
Actually, who do you want me to be? I’m capable of performing all sort of roles
快不快樂我無所謂 為了你開心 我忘記了累不累
kuai bu kuai le wo wu suo wei    wei le ni kai xin    wo wang ji le lei bu lei
Happiness or sadness, it doesn’t matter. Just as long as you’re happy, I would forget all the fatigue
其實你愛我像誰 任何的表情我都能給
qi shi ni ai wo xiang shui    ren he de biao qing wo dou neng gei
Actually, who do you want me to be? I’m capable of giving any type of expressions
Woo~  在你身上學會流眼淚
Woo~ zai ni shen shang xue hui liu yan lei
Woo~ Being by your side, I’ve learned to shed tears

Xiao Ao Jiang Hu 2012: Costumes – Part V

This one will focus on the various supporting of the series. I’m tired of doing individual posts so this will be the last one for costumes. YES, wrapping it up since it’s part 5 now and I want to focus on other parts of the series itself–along with some other discussions to prepare myself for the worst (LOL).

Dicky Cheung as Lu Zhu Weng. When I first saw his costume, I was like, “Seriously?” and had to laugh it off for a while. I guess when I think some other producers out there are being quite literal, Yu Zheng just has to top them all. Just because his name consisted of ‘bamboo’ does not mean he would have to wear blinding green–among other shades. So he has a nice, fancy instrument, but it’s going to be really hard not to laugh when I watch the actual scenes he appears in.

Kelsey Lv is Lan Feng Huang. I must say her character is very intriguing and I enjoy her character while reading the novel and even watch some versions. Kelsey looks the part in this outfit and for once, I don’t mind. I thought her outfits are actually one of the better designs, arrangements thus far. In fact, I got so carried away looking at some pictures, I wonder how it would’ve been cool if she’s actually Ying Ying. Well, NOT implying anything since I said I never watched Yuan Shan Shan before, but the outfits for Ying Ying for this version just kills it, and somehow it’s strange that they manage to get Lan Feng Huang’s outfits right for someone being in a mysterious cult, etc.

This is Tian Bo Guang. I’m not too sure how old he’s supposed to be in the book since I read it a long time ago. But I’m guessing he’s around his 30s SO Han Dong is the right choice. Not to mention how Ling Hu Chong was once mistaken for Tian Bo Guang because of their similar obsession for wine and all. No complaint. The outfit is about right. Kind of weird, but I’m over the style already since they managed to tone it down somehow. Later when he becomes a monk, his outfit is actually more reserved than the supposedly ‘nun’, which is hilarious if you ask me.

This is Lu Da You, portrayed Zhang Zhuo Wen. Again, forgot how old Da You was, but he seemed older in some of the other versions. Then again I remembered that Lin Hu Chong was younger than some of them but he was the highest-ranked because he had followed Yue Bu Quan since young. I have to go check again, seriously. It would be funny if Ling Hu Chong ended up being the oldest age-wise too in this version because he couldn’t be older than Lao De Nuo. (This one, I’m sure, considering what type of role he played in the grand schemes later.)

Oh yeah, almost forgot about her since she’s not really my favorite character in Xiao Ao Jiang Hu. (I SAID CHARACTER, NOT ACTRESS in case anyone didn’t read carefully.) What’s funny is she and the rest of the people in the North Hengshan Sect will wear some bright, girly outfits instead of the supposedly more calm shades like the usual white or grayish to distinguish themselves as nuns. Honestly? So TVB’s ’84 version cheated on not shaving the hair, but they sort of compensated for wearing calmer colors and putting the hair up in a way that showed they were supposed to be living simple, etc. Anyway, because the producer is so creative, I hope to like Yi Lin in this version for once, considering how cute Deng Sha looks in various photos. I don’t know, I just never like her character, NOT because of too boring either, but maybe too nagging at times.

This is to show the other costume that they have, purplish–a tad better but still kind of bright.

Members of the Sun Moon Holy Sect looking like ninjas? All right, it just gets better and better. (YES, I’m being sarcastic.)

I didn’t include all because I haven’t been surfing around lately to find pictures, and I’m getting tired. NOT to mention I got so confused regarding some plots since Yu Zheng’s VERY good at throwing out fake bombs SO I won’t even talk about them until this ‘grand’ production finally rolls out next year. Oh yeah, already talked about Bryan Leung and Hei Zi in the first post so I didn’t repeat here.

Xiao Ao Jiang Hu 2012: 2nd Reaction

Having 2nd thoughts now after I caught up on news. DARN…so stay tuned for my rants later. YES, I have to. AND I broke my usual not posting related topics back to back, BUT this is seriously an emergency. LOL!

AND yes, that means the new layout is canceled. Even IF I do a new layout, IT IS NOT going to be on this one.
