The story started out with Miao Miao (Rabbit Yang) recapping about a past she shared with her childhood friends. When they were kids, their parents took them to this one place to grow some trees. It was supposed to prolong their friendship and relationships among other positive things. However, the next day, they all moved out of the area. Miao Miao disclosed that it wasn’t until the later years that she learned of the place’s real name. It had turned into a business area, but she had pondered if the trees they grew were still there. And more importantly, if the others still remembered her. As she was wondering about their whereabouts, the scene soon shifted and introduced two more main characters, Li Jia Yuan (Jean Lee) and Shen Zi Hong (Zheng Ting Hu). Jia Yuan was the one who attached the article that Miao Miao wrote to the wall for showcasing. As Zi Hong entered, Jia Yuan called him over and told him about the touching messages that Miao Miao wrote to her childhood friends. He seemed to recognize the picture. Or seemed to show traces of interest.

As Miao Miao finally managed to locate the old forest that they once planted those special trees at through the head of the town’s help, she was amazed by how it was still there. However, the head of the town told her about the accident that happened 20 years ago, which was after she left. He also told her how strange it was that the three families who didn’t want to move out (in regard to the whole land redevelopment project) were the ones who were in the accident. It seemed like too much of a coincidence.

Meanwhile, Zi Hong was seen talking to his mom and entertaining her by the seaside. According to flashbacks, he was one of the people involved in that accident 20 years ago. That accident had caused his mom to be paralyzed. He had been taking care of her all these years after. Then at the forest, Miao Miao discovered 4 wooden blocks with the carving of different symbols, which stood for her and her three childhood friends. She was so happy because they still remembered her. And according to the head of the town, those small wooden blocks weren’t there before. So someone had recently returned and placed them there? Yet which one was it? Or did the other three all returned?

Elsewhere, Police Chief Zheng Hui Min (Zhu De Gang) was seen escorting Head Commissioner Luo Yun Xiong (Lin Hong Xiang) and his family to this one event. The police chief was very nervous and even handed the head commissioner a bulletproof vest. However, the head commissioner just laughed and handed it back before walking out with his wife (Wang Yu Yan) and daughter (Angela Lee). The crowd cheered him on. Yet the police chief was seen rattling commands into his walkie-talkie to warn his officers to heighten their vigilance. Nothing seemed to take place for that time, but there were several people lurking around suspiciously. So, who were they?

As fate would have it, Miao Miao finally met up with Zi Hong yet didn’t realize he was one of her childhood friends from ages back. They had a rough encounter and even ended up in an almost sworn-enemies state. As it were, Miao Miao was actually at the old town’s local orphanage looking for details as to where her three childhood friends had gone. The head of the orphanage suggested that their names must have changed since the adoption. She agreed, considering how it was normal for new parents to change the kids’ names. After the unfruitful searching, the two took a walk outside – to which Miao Miao found out that Zi Hong was actually a teacher at the orphanage, teaching the kids there. She was doubtful about that. When Zi Hong finally spotted her standing outside and looking through the window at them, he teased her by asking the kids some questions that had related back to Miao Miao’s musical taste.

What was even more interesting was seeing how the daughter of the head commissioner, Luo Yong Mei, knew Miao Miao. They were not only good friends but also were coworkers. Yong Mei was actually the chief editor at the newspaper place that Miao Miao worked at.

So after some random chat with Miao Miao, Yong Mei left the facility and encountered some shady party. Luckily, she was rescued by a cop (Pan Bo Xi). He was actually one of the officers under Police Chief Zheng and was seen circulating the scene with the other officers during that one ceremony earlier. Not talking much, but really showed his capabilities of protecting the precious daughter of the head commissioner. After having fought off the kidnapper, he offered to drive Yong Mei home.

The head commissioner finally realized the seriousness of the situation upon learning that his daughter almost got kidnapped. However, that didn’t prevent him from chiding the chief police from not telling him about Zhang Guo Tang (Chen Wen Shan) and his father in law’s past grudges. Apparently, Zhang Guo Tang was targeting Jiang Jian Ming but had opted for his henchmen to kidnap Yong Mei to cause some ruptures among the family. Anyway, Luo Yun Xiong wasn’t really the head commissioner yet, but in several more days. But still, regarding things having to do with Zhang Guo Tang, it was better for them to be safe than sorry.

Since Luo Yun Xiong finally agreed, he led one of the officers under the police chief, Lin Zi Yan (Cai Huang Ru) to his daughter’s room so the officer could talk to his daughter. However, his wife, Jiang Ming Yue interfered. She disagreed with how Zi Yan was trying to talk to her daughter, wanting her daughter to rest, not to be disturbed. However, Zi Yan said that it wasn’t good for Yong Mei to hide and try to ignore the situation. She gave the usual psychological talk and insisted that they understood the situation and let Yong Mei acknowledge what was going on so she could go past it, not hide and possibly cause her a psychological breakdown later on down the road. After listening to her analytical reasoning, Mrs. Luo finally agreed. So the talk between Zi Yan and Yong Mei commenced.

So the special team that the police chief talked about finally gathered. It was the special team that would be responsible for protecting the Luo family along with investigating the whereabouts of Zhang Guo Tang and his henchmen. The team consisted of Chen Jie (Jet Chao), Lin Zi Yan, Liu Dong Han (the cop who saved Yong Mei earlier), He Zhen Fei (Ah Ben), and Zhao Ji Gang (Qiu De Yang). Chen Jie was assigned the team leader, supervising the others. After assigning their responsibilities and briefing them a bit about the new team, they were driven to a special location for their headquarter.

While that was going on, Zi Hong was dealing with some people at his workplace. Those supposedly were spreading rumors about Jia Yuan, so Zi Hong had to warn them off. Yet one of those guys wasn’t so happy about his interference. But that was soon dissolved since his buddy pulled him away. A fight was prevented. But Jia Yuan was still worried about Zi Hong. She sought him out to talk to him, telling him it wasn’t the first time those rumors were spread about her. She then asked if Zi Hong believed those rumors. He responded, of course, he didn’t. She thanked him, a tear rolled down her eyes, before leaving the scene. The situation didn’t resolve itself, of course. Since those two thugs followed Jia Yuan home, even confronting her and talking down on her even more. She played along yet had turned down their request by quoting a price. But before long, Zi Hong appeared and wanted them to apologize to Jia Yuan. The result? One of the guys ended up with a trash can on his head.

Vouching to get to the bottom of it, uncovering the mystery of the accident from 20 years ago, Miao Miao’s next stop took her to Zi Hong’s house. Zi Hong was actually working in his room and also listening to the music box that his mother loved dearly. That had caught Miao Miao’s attention hence her calling out for him after ascending the stairs. However, their possible reunion was interrupted by Zi Hong’s father, Shen You Fu (Zhu Lu Hao). (He was probably the one who adopted Zi Hong after the accident.) He entered and confronted Miao Miao for trespassing, but soon calmed down after she apologized and introduced herself, explaining why she was there. He even invited her to the living room to talk. He answered some basic questions at first, but then hinted that his noodles were going to be ruined if she asked any more questions. She apologized once again for interrupting his meal time and left. Soon, Zi Hong was called to dinner.

Meanwhile at the special team’s headquarter, there were some disagreements between Zi Yan and Xiao He hence Xiao He seeking out Chen Jie to resolve the matter. It wasn’t really a disagreement as much as Xiao He claiming that Zi Yan didn’t respect him. When they entered the computer room, Zi Yan seemed to have taken over at the space. No wonder Xiao He was upset, considering that was his specialty after all. Yet it was soon resolved with how Chen Jie sided with Xiao He, claiming they should trust Xiao He’s expert theory so they all dissolved to carry out the mission. Zi Yan had pointed out that the area she suspected was different from Xiao He hence the whole ‘offended’ feeling from Xiao He previously.

Break time brought forth a confrontation between Dong Han and the other three guys. He had pointed out that they were being unfair to Zi Yan. However, all three denied. Dong Han pointed out that words had been passing around regarding the matter. It was just that they didn’t realize it themselves. Zi Yan wanted to enter the break room yet had stopped herself upon hearing Dong Han confronting them. She chose to break out on her own to investigate. That had also led to another confrontation over the phone between Chen Jie and Zi Yan. Zi Yan asked if Chen Jie was mad that she didn’t report to him, the team leader, lol. Then she said that she was just going to check things out a bit and would be back later. While Chen Jie was asking her what she was up to and how she shouldn’t act on her own, etc, Dong Han was seen nearby somewhat passive. Yet after Chen Jie got off the phone with Zi Yan and walked on, Dong Han was seen smiling. So he wasn’t so cold as his face often reflected.

Yet it seemed like Zi Yan was on the right track after all. Because she stumbled upon those thugs who had been involved in the kidnapping earlier. So, what would the others say later? The chase was on, will she catch them?
