As Long Tian Xing was walking home, his father appeared out of nowhere and called out to him. (Well, that dude was spying nearby but still.) What was the topic of discussion this time around? Um…Tian Xing was telling his father how the Lai family weren’t a bad bunch, and that his father needed to open his eyes a bit to see how they were. Pouring some ice-cold water onto his old man’s face all right. Of course, he was still using the whole ‘family’ card to get Tian Xing to succumb to his plans. Bi Jing Ye threatened his son with the whole “I’ll tell Lai Da Fa you’re my son if you don’t do as I said” card. Great, so much for family. Yet Tian Xing said he was still following his old man’s plans, just that he thought the old man would reconsider the whole thing.

So back to Yu Xiang and Bi Ting’s stroll toward Bi Ting’s house. Suddenly they were so formal. She thanked him for walking her home. And then he was like asking for permission to speak. Well, it was more like he said he had something to tell her. Okay, she also had something to say to him. What? Bi Ting wanted to clarify all the rumors he must have heard about her breakup with Jun Jie. She said that the reason why she couldn’t let go of everything and leave for Paris was because of her mother, not because of him–like rumors have it. She also pointed out that she found out today how similar they were, treasuring family the most. Yu Xiang agreed that he couldn’t just let go of family. She was done talking and wanted to leave. Yet he stopped her. Was this the moment? No, too much impatient on my part. (Since it made sense he stopped himself if he was about to say it before.) Well, he asked her if she was willing to come to work for his company. Yet she said she already told him in the past that she was still pursuing her wedding planner dream and how she would eventually work her way up to earn the “Paris trip” herself in the future. Though she did thank him for thinking of recruiting her to work for him, etc. So that was it. End of conversation.

So it was ‘meet the parent day’ with Mrs. Lai. Of course, she gave them her blessings. She sure was sharp though, stating that she had a friend who had a similar background as Tian Xing’s descriptions. However, she let it off. He quickly made up some story to dodge the situation altogether. (Nice one.) When Tian Xing excused himself to go to the restroom, Yu Jie steered the conversation right back to convincing Mrs. Lai to forgive Chairman Lai.

Meanwhile elsewhere, Bi Ting was out and about and bumped into Jun Jie (literally). There was some awkwardness yet he invited her to breakfast/lunch. She agreed. They were having fast food out at the park, but Bi Ting didn’t mind. She never minded about that stuff anyway. Besides, the more important thing was trying to resolve their past conflicts and ‘maintain some sort of friendship’. It was interesting how things turned out. After they cooled down and had some time off from all the pressure, they were able to talk again and even apologized to one another. And the most interesting thing was how Bi Ting suggested that Jun Jie moved into her apartment building since he was trying to cut back on spending, considering how he had just closed his company and was still searching for a job.

And as all that was going on, Yu Xiang was at home on his laptop while Tian Cheng walked in whistling like an idiot. Yes, he was feeling high. Yu Xiang was teasing him about how it was just a matter of time before Tian Cheng and Yi Ru got back together. Tian Cheng told Yu Xiang not to say those things, considering how Yi Ru just broke her engagement with Michael, and how he (Tian Cheng) wasn’t able to come out and say it after so many things had happened. Yu Xiang, being the advisor that he was, told Tian Cheng to seek out his daughter to help. Nice move, eh? Yet Tian Cheng turned the table on Yu Xiang when he pointed out that Yu Xiang couldn’t have a say in it with the whole ‘courage’ deal. Tian Cheng went on to say that he heard from Yu Jie that Yu Xiang had feelings toward Bi Ting yet wasn’t brave enough to pursue her. So Tian Cheng pointed out that Yu Xiang should take some actions to better convince him. Yu Xiang was so clever, he blurted out that their situations weren’t the same so it couldn’t be compared and rushed to the restroom instead.

Yu Jie and Tian Xing’s next stop was at Chairman Lai’s office. They were just sending along Mrs. Lai’s words regarding the meeting earlier. Chairman Lai was more than happy to oblige to Mrs. Lai’s requests. He even gave Tian Xing a check for all the wedding arrangements and such. Yet Tian Xing turned it down, saying they could manage. But Chairman Lai said it was for his daughter, not for Tian Xing, lol. So there it went with them shoving the check back and forth about twenty times before Yu Jie interfered. Soon, Tian Xing finally called Chairman Lai “Dad” and they settled down to chat some more. The topic of conversation suddenly moved to how Chairman Lai was saying Tian Xing reminded him of an old friend. Yu Jie jumped in to say that Tian Xing and Bi Jing Ye sure resembled one another. (Wow and they didn’t figure that one out until now? Great…) Tian Xing used that time to ask about that particular “Uncle Bi” who Yu Jie was talking about. So he finally got to hear Chairman Lai’s side of the story. Yet it wasn’t like Chairman Lai was bashing the other party or defending himself. He actually blamed himself for not paying attention to Bi Jing Ye thus causing even more understandings and worsening their ties. Tian Xing assured Chairman Lai that if that friend of his understood, he would soon be forgiven.

So at Sam Brunch, Tian Cheng was really enjoying it with finally being able to spend time with his ‘wife’ and kid without other interruptions. Well, not really, but it seemed like they were back to where they started. Just needed to muster up some courage and tell Yi Ru. Sam looked like he wanted to tease them yet he didn’t.

Back on the Yu Xiang and Bi Ting front, they were meeting up with Yu Jie and Tian Xing again. The wedding was going to take place three days later. Yu Xiang was beyond shocked with the time. Yet Yu Jie said their mother had wanted to travel south, etc. After the explanation and all, Yu Xiang promised that he and Bi Ting would help them out, etc. They went shopping together and tried to make ends meet. It was so funny how she made him beg this one lady. It was so funny yet cute. Then they were moving on to searching for other items. So funny how he was using chopsticks to propose to her.

Jun Jie and Shu Xin were also enjoying their time together–although they were just working on their proposals. Yet it was a change that Jun Jie was sharing his feelings to her, etc. She was indeed happy with his change in attitude and outlook as well.

Back on Yu Xiang and Bi Ting front again, they were settling old scores. At least Bi Ting was saying how he was picking at her work during their first official meeting yet now he had to stay up late to do all the work. He was actually enjoying past arguments? Yet he was right. Though they were arguing nonstop daily, it was rather simple than the situation they were in now. Then things got awkward again before they tried to go back to work on the decorations. It wasn’t until Yu Xiang finally couldn’t take it anymore and wanted to tell her AND ended up knocking the decorations over by accident. Or more like they both turned at the same time to call out each other’s names. Oy… What was there to do except retrieving those items from the floor? And he still used that time to say that she was unlucky?

Much, much later in the night, Yu Xiang walked Bi Ting home again. He repeated his appreciation for her working so hard on his sister’s wedding, etc. Of course, she said it was nothing since it was part of her job. After the usual chat, they parted ways again with her going upstairs and he waited until she was safely inside before leaving. Well, not really going yet since he stepped aside to dial her number. Then he stopped himself by beating himself up by saying he wasn’t thinking about Jun Jie’s feelings, and no wonder Jun Jie kept misunderstanding him in the past, etc. When Bi Ting finally picked up, he told her he dialed the wrong number.

Then came the day of Yu Jie and Tian Xing’s wedding. Everything seemed perfect. It took place at Sam Brunch. They had to transform the atmosphere and decorated the place to be suitable for the wedding. Guests were showing up already. Then Yu Xiang came. He spotted Bi Ting checking over the decorations to make sure it was tip-top and walked over to her to deliver some words of tease. Yet he did thank her once again for her effort. Jun Jie soon stepped in though and addressed both parties. A round of awkward staring was in place. That was until Jun Jie said that he was going to go and give Yu Jie his blessings. Yu Xiang seconded and they left together. After that, guests pilled in one by one, even some of the key characters. Jun Jie soon got his turn to talk to Yu Jie–to which he told her he wasn’t staying since he had to leave for some business matters in a bit. But he had promised to return later. She then asked him if he found a place yet and he told her he was living at their mother’s past apartment–across from Bi Ting. Yu Jie teased him for having some ‘motives’ but he shrugged it off. He also mentioned how he and Bi Ting already talked it out. Shu Xin arrived next and gave her blessings to Yu Jie as well. Then Chairman Lai came. They chatted a bit and the surprising moment arrived when Mrs. Lai came (since they weren’t sure if she would come, considering how things were between her and Chairman Lai at the moment). Mrs. Lai wanted to talk with Tian Xing in private. That set off some alarms but she was only giving him some pieces of jewelry. A pair of rings to be exact. It was from her parents and she wanted to pass it on to Yu Jie and Tian Xing. Indeed Tian Xing was feeling worse and worse after Mrs. Lai left, considering how much they trusted him, especially Yu Jie’s parents.

Then it was finally the time when Tian Xing stepped up toward the stage area and called for attention. (That was after he handed over the pair of rings to Yu Jie and said it was from her mother.) He said he had an announcement to make. He broke it to the others that he was actually Bi Jing Ye’s son. He went further to explain that he initially wanted to execute his father’s plans hence going forward with this whole thing. Yet now, he had really fallen for Yu Jie, and their family’s warmness had caused him to realize that he shouldn’t continue with his schemes anymore. He went on to clarify that he wasn’t saying all those things so that they would accept him. He only hoped that they would give him a chance and forgive him for what he’d done. He ended the speech with a sincere bow. Yu Jie had no choice but to flee the scene. It was too much to take, who could blame her?

Outside, Tian Xing had successfully caught up with her. She told him to let go. Then she asked him why he had to trick her like that. He explained it was because of his father, but now he really loved her. He even asked for a second chance. Of course, she couldn’t accept it and couldn’t take him back like that. It was too much to take. So she fled the scene again.

That night at home, the men were busy trying to comfort their princess. Yet they still dared defended Tian Xing in front of her? Well, it made sense since it was indeed one of the upsides that Tian Xing had told her before the wedding instead of after. But she was too heart-broken to care or think rationally at this point. So they were still going back and forth with the argument whether Yu Jie should accept him or not. Yang Bo Wen said that he could see that Tian Xing knew he was wrong and he ‘truly’ loved Yu Jie so he voted one for Tian Xing. Yu Xiang and Tian Cheng were still on the out with saying that Tian Xing was still wrong to trick others. Regardless of the men’s side argument though, it would be up to Yu Jie to decide since she will have to live with it. What made Yu Jie laughed, at last, was how Tian Cheng was pondering why Jun Jie wasn’t picking up. Yu Jie clarified that it was because he was busy with a case and how he was living at their mother’s previous apartment now. Yu Xiang was mumbling how so those two hadn’t reconciled and all. That was about the time Yang Bo Wen jumped over to Yu Xiang and Tian Cheng’s place to investigate a certain ‘sour’ odor. (YUP, implying that Yu Xiang was jealous.) Yu Xiang quickly said that he needed to go upstairs and rest and fled the scene. Nice getaway indeed.

Back at an undisclosed location, Tian Xing had another meeting with his father. The old man didn’t look too happy. (I wouldn’t either if someone sabotaged my evil plans like that.) Tian Xing confessed that he had already told the others that he was Bi Jing Ye’s son and that he didn’t want to continue on with this ‘trap’ anymore. Okay, Bi Jing Ye sprung his ultimate plan: severing all ties with Tian Xing. Old plan but yeah. Tian Xing was still calm, he even urged his old man to go seek out Chairman Lai for a talk to sort things out.

At Sam Brunch, Yu Xiang and Min Ling were meeting up for a talk. So Min Ling was leaving. She thanked him for looking after her all these years. Yu Xiang asked her where she was going. She told him she was going to the States to study for a while. He wished her luck and told her to take good care of herself. Min Ling then told him that he should take good care of Bi Ting since Bi Ting had let go of her Paris dream because of him so Bi Ting must really love him. He promised. (Really? When was he going to carry through?)

Still, at another location, Tian Xing sought out Mrs. Lai for a talk. He wasn’t trying to pull strings to get back into Yu Jie’s heart. He was out to do damage control and ask for forgiveness. Mrs. Lai was apparently still in shock that Tian Xing was Bi Jing Ye’s son. But she was willing to forgive him since she said he was only fulfilling his filial duties, and that it took a lot of courage for him to step out and say it. Then she asked about Bi Jing Ye, hoping that he would eventually accept it and move on.

Somewhere at a playground. Or more accurately at the playground that Tian Cheng and Yi Ru often took Xiao Die out to play, Yi Ru was walking around calling out for Xiao Die. Xiao Die soon jumped out from somewhere to surprise her mother. But that wasn’t the real surprise since she wanted to take her mother somewhere. Awww…Xiao Die teamed up with her father to give her mother a surprise. Well, Tian Cheng dressed as a clown to surprise Yi Ru and popped the question again. It didn’t matter what her answer was. They were having too much fun goofing off.

Yu Jie finally met up with her mother. It was an interesting conversation really. Because how Yu Jie was saying her father was wrong too yet he still clarified the matters with everyone. So why didn’t her mother forgive her father? Great question really. How was it different? The father sure took his precious time about it. (Okay, I’m not helping but it’s still funny to see how Mrs. Lai dodges out of this one.) Yup, Mrs. Lai was indeed sharp all right since she said the situations were different. Yu Jie was using the whole ‘forgiveness’ thing to bargain with her mother (aka if she forgave Tian Xing, then Mrs. Lai will have to forgive Chairman Lai.) It was funny how Mrs. Lai agreed, but she added a term to it. Yet she stated it was impossible since Chairman Lai would never do it.

At a construction site, Jun Jie spotted Shu Xin. Wow, she sure was taking it easy nowadays, willing to go out in the world and get ‘dirty’, not caring for the ‘perfect’ image anymore. It was indeed cute (if I really have to admit it) that they were joking around so comfortably, unlike in the past. And they were able to share so much with each other as well. Well, more him than her at the moment. But definitely progress. (I actually thought it would be madly rushed if the scriptwriters try to pull these two together at the last moment but it actually worked out quite well, considering how their time apart had made them acquire a different perspective toward many things, including toward each other.)

Back home, Yu Jie descended the stairs, calling out for the others, wondering why they hadn’t come back yet. However, when she switched on the lights, Tian Xing was standing in front of her. (How in the world did he get in? Who was the culprit who let him in?) Anyway, he was reenacting a part of some script to try and win her over again. She was willing to reconsider if he wasn’t going to pull any sort of tricks again.

Next step? Massage parlor. Tian Cheng and Yu Xiang were pretending to be the employees of this one spa to sneak in and find Mrs. Lai. After they were done confirming her location and had brought in water, they left. Chairman Lai was going to carry out the ‘terms’ that she proposed earlier with how if Chairman Lai was willing to wash her feet for her, then she would forgive him. YES, it was an ‘impossible’ one with how he had his own pride and dignity. Mrs. Lai was counting on it. Yet Chairman Lai wasn’t so into ‘saving face’ like some other people. It wasn’t until she could feel the pain (since Chairman Lai wasn’t a pro master after all) that she screamed out and pulled off her eye patch to see Chairman Lai there. She added another term, that he had to do the massage too and then she would reconsider forgiving him. Tian Cheng and Yu Xiang were outside cheering. They took it up another notch to celebrate and Tian Cheng was gloating as Yu Xiang tried to sabotage him. It wasn’t until Tian Cheng pointed out that everything worked out for everyone yet Yu Xiang and Bi Ting was still not making any progress at all that Yu Xiang realized he was in for good. Time to dodge again. Yet he didn’t this time. Not really. He was really considering Tian Cheng’s words.

So sometime later, Bi Ting came home to see Yu Xiang drawing on a wall next to her apartment building. (Wah…he’s so getting it for graffiti.) Just for kicks, what was he drawing anyway? Well, a picture of the Eiffel Tower. Then there was Bi Ting. His answer to her question about what he was doing was he wanted to compensate her ‘dream’ since she’d given it up because of him. She told him not to get too carried away with his imagination. (The not everything is about him talk, lol.) So she walked toward the door but he grabbed her hand and steered her around again. Just when he was leaning in to kiss her and she almost closed her eyes, she opened her eyes again and hit him. What? That was funny indeed since I was thinking of a ‘mushy’ moment or something. But she just thought of something. She forgot something so she had to go get it. He had to chase after her. It was almost like the scene where he was fleeing some gangsters in the past and just plain grabbed her and used her as a shield to get away from them. Yet this time, he was sincere. So he told her that he couldn’t help her fulfill her dream at that point but he promised to work hard for it–if she would give him a chance. Yet she wasn’t touched as easily. She said that she wasn’t the ‘perfect’ girl that he was seeking for. He said it was all right since he wasn’t perfect either. He continued by saying that he was ‘Ji Che Nan’ (機車男) so he was more compatible with ‘Dao Mei Nv’ (倒楣女). She finally laughed. But that was before she beat him up for keep calling her ‘unlucky girl’, lol. (Awww…finally…)

So on that same rooftop that Tian Xing often meet up with Bi Jing Ye, Bi Jing Ye was having another meeting with Gao You Da. Bi Jing Ye was begging Chairman Gao to give him another chance to bring Lai Da Fa down. Chairman Gao said it was too late since Bi Jing Ye was worthless at that point. Then he mentioned about collaborating with Chairman Lai in the future. But that wasn’t all. Chairman Lai and Mrs. Lai showed up at that time. They asked him for his forgiveness. He thought for a bit before saying that he was also wrong. (Possibly because he had nowhere to lean on now so he needed to get out of there quickly?) He said he would transfer his shares to his son, hoping the others would take good care of his son for him. Then he left. Mrs. Lai tried calling after him. Yet Chairman Lai said that it was hard to let go at their age so he told Mrs. Lai to let Bi Jing Ye be for the time being.

Three months later, it seemed like it was back at the beginning again. Well, at least it seemed that way with Yu Xiang driving to work and how he received a call from Tian Cheng with coming to the ceremony. This time, it wasn’t a separation party but a wedding. And Yu Xiang wasn’t driving his fancy sports car but a van. Tian Cheng’s message also consisted of asking Yu Xiang to call Yu Jie since she was quite forgetful. He really wanted her to be there. As for Jun Jie, he was seen in his office working away. Some things hadn’t changed. Yet he seemed more relaxed, using a basketball to entertain himself as he was trying to work out of a cram. It was also when he finally thought of the solution that Tian Cheng called in. He was reminding Jun Jie to come to his wedding. What about Bi Ting? She was home getting ready. Or so it seemed. Soon, she received a call. Yu Xiang or someone else? Yet she said she remembered. So it was probably Yu Xiang calling to remind her about the wedding? Then the scene zoomed to Shu Xin. Jun Jie called her up to remind her as well.

So back to Bi Ting, she was out waiting for a bus when Yu Xiang drove up and stopped by the sidewalk, teasing her about the time and how she was still waiting for a bus. She called him “San Shao Ye” (三少爺) and he returned it with calling her “San Shao Nai” (三少奶). How cute! YET she hit him for calling her “San Shao Nai”. So apparently they were not married yet. OY, I thought they were. But still cute. He was rushing her though, telling her they would be late if they were still there. Then she ordered him to drive as they got in the van. And as interesting as it got, they got into an accident (just like how she witnessed the accident at their first meeting and even chided him). This time, it wasn’t them though because the guy in front of them stopped so he had to brake. Luckily, they weren’t hurt. The same old trick with some old lady trying to pull the pitiful card. Bi Ting soon realized what was going on and how it was so similar to their first encounter. The new victim was as fierce as Yu Xiang was at the beginning yet there was no “Bi Ting” around to argue with that guy. The old lady finally got up and said that it was harder and harder to ‘earn a living’ and how she should find a ‘dumber’ person the next time she pulled that trick. It was also then that Yu Xiang turned to look at Bi Ting while Bi Ting had her mouth wide open. He grabbed at the chance to tease her yet she turned it around with how she was just kind-hearted yet he was the dumb one who fell for the trick. What? NICE…He was so getting it since he asked her where she learned such an ‘attitude’. It was funny how he realized it was like staring into a mirror. And he even questioned what he had done to himself, lol.

Jun Jie’s presentation this time seemed successful and he was leaving. So the scene finally zoomed to the ‘main couple’ of the moment. Xiao Die was seen in the bride’s room all smile. It was indeed better times for them at last. The same old Iron Man trick from Tian Cheng as he stepped in to greet the pair of mother and daughter. Yet they were definitely in higher spirits. It was so cute with how Xiao Die was saying her father was tall but not handsome. Kids’ innocent answers. Those were the best. He told her to stay away from her uncles since they were bad influences. He quickly repeated the mantra with him being ‘handsome and tall’. Soon, Yi Ru chided him for coming in to see the ‘bride’ before the wedding and shooed him out. Yet he said it was their second time getting married so it didn’t count. But she shooed him out anyway, saying it was bad luck. So he had no choice but to bid a temporary goodbye to Xiao Die before exiting.

The scene soon zoomed to Tian Xing. He was waiting for Yu Jie. She told him some good news. But she would have to travel overseas for some filming in the coming days. He faked the upset scene yet soon turned it off, saying that he was an actor after all. He sure got it good. Yet he stopped her attacks and told her they have to go since the ceremony was commencing soon. They were on their way, then she asked if Bi Jing Ye was coming. Tian Xing said probably not since he hadn’t gotten over the other matter yet. And that he had gone on a trip to the mainland for the time being. Tian Xing told Yu Jie it was best to give everyone more time to adjust and accept. So they were finally on their way.

At the ceremony, at last, Yu Xiang and Bi Ting finally arrived. Like usual, Bi Ting went to check on everything and even adjusted some decorations like the beginning. Just a sigh from Yu Xiang and it got Bi Ting on a roll again, lol. Then there they were again, arguing over whose taste was more suitable. OY! Then he moved on to testing her about her knowledge. He turned the whole thing toward himself when she finally answered his question, saying since she first saw him, she already fallen for him. (It was a crafty question though since she was answering and the “I Love You” fitted with the answer and how he eventually took it from there, lol.) She faked nausea. Soon, she told him to go find his brothers to talk or the more they talk, she would reconsider why she chose such a guy. He obliged but before he went, he tossed her an ‘air kiss’, telling her not to miss him too much. OY! Crazy but cute.

Even more interesting with the scene unfolding was how Bi Ting was on the phone with her mother and Jun Jie walked by. He was on his way in (like at their first meeting) and helped her retrieve her phone since she dropped it after trying to put it back into her purse. They congratulated each other on finding their own happiness already. Then the usual catch up with what was up recently.

Back inside, Yu Xiang and Jun Jie finally have their talk. What a time to have the talk, but still they needed even more time to cool off than that one time at the company. They were joking and talking like brothers again. It was indeed so funny how Yu Xiang was grabbing onto Jun Jie and saying how there were no problems between them. The way he took Jun Jie’s hand suggested a different relationship than a brotherly one. LOL! At least that got Jun Jie laughing. Jun Jie then apologized for causing so much ruptures yet Yu Xiang shrugged it off, saying that they were brothers after all. Jun Jie said that he was glad he was a part of the Lai family. Yu Xiang then faked coldness since he realized his ‘2nd bro’ was back already. (Yes, Jun Jie and his mushy talks would cause shivers all-around all right, lol.) Yu Jie soon showed up with Shu Xin (just like the beginning) and chided Jun Jie for abandoning his other half so she had to do the honor of escorting Shu Xin in. They were getting shivers again as Jun Jie and Shu Xin were playing ‘lovey-dovey’, lol. Yu Xiang wanted to go before he couldn’t take it anymore and dragged Yu Jie along. Yet Yu Jie said she was waiting for her Tian Xing to come so she could do a face-off with the other couple. Yu Xiang faked nausea and was about to flee the scene. Yet he said he wasn’t going to lose to them in the ‘lovey-dovey’ department so he turned around and yelled for Bi Ting.

Yu Xiang finally found Bi Ting by the bridge. She was sitting there enjoying the scenery. So indeed it had been a year already since their first meeting. She told Yu Xiang that her feelings during both times weren’t the same. Just some reminiscent moment. There he went teasing her again. She chided him for a lack of maturity this past year. He was still able to smile. Yet he soon launched into a somewhat of an enlightened talk about fate. That got her smiling again. Then they got up to go since it was almost time.

OMG, it was actually four weddings, not one. The other three couples were also getting married. Yet they made it like it was just Tian Cheng and Yi Ru’s wedding. (I had a feeling it might be three more weddings, not one because of some words being said in between, but I wasn’t too sure.) Their parents were late again with attending, just like last year. But they were more happy and willing this year, considering how the event was different. Indeed, Yu Jie jumped out of the line to chide her parents for being late and even-handed the whole ‘host’ job to their uncle. Mrs. Lai was sharp as always and delivered her speech ever so convincingly. Then Chairman Lai delivered a powerful speech in blessing the couples, and also to wish their new beginning a happy one. Then they danced off to the main theme song. Suitable since it was full circle already. Good ending!

The others were as surprised when they heard the news of Mrs. Lai wanting a divorce. Though they either had chided him or was upset over the whole ‘affair’ yet they didn’t want to see the family breaking apart. So, of course, they were surprised by the move executed by Mrs. Lai. Yet Yu Jie told Chairman Lai that she would go seek out Mrs. Lai tomorrow to tell her about the good news of her (Yu Jie) getting married so she (Mrs. Lai) would change her mind. Tian Cheng even chimed in by saying that Mrs. Lai was just messing with him so he didn’t need to worry, considering how it was one of the tactics that Yi Ru had used on him in the past. (Wow, nice example, look where their marriage went, lol.) Indeed Yu Xiang had caught on and pointed out that Tian Cheng and Yi Ru ended up in divorce anyway, causing their father to cry out again. It was then Yang Bo Wen’s turn to reassure Chairman Lai. Yu Xiang finally tried to patch things by telling Chairman Lai to get it together and perform well during the important meeting so Mrs. Lai could be proud of him. It was indeed a good feeling to see that everyone was supporting him at the moment.

As Jun Jie was typing away that night, he stopped for a short break and even looked at their family picture on his phone. However, Bi Jing Ye’s call interrupted his thoughts and soon, the plan was on its way again. Was Jun Jie really going forward with it? When he looked at their family picture, it seemed like he showed some hesitation, but was that enough to stop him? Or was Bi Jing Ye’s words so dead-on that he didn’t want to let this chance pass by with overthrowing Chairman Lai? (It was hard to blame since Bi Jing Ye really done his research well to know where to hit, but still trying to see what would come out of it in the end.)

Back on the Bi Ting front, she found out that Mrs. Lai was leaving. Bi Ting asked her if she going out of the country. Mrs. Lai joked that she was leaving for Paris as not to waste the tickets. Yet she said she wasn’t going to study over there since she wasn’t too into French, etc. Bi Ting begged her not to tease anymore. Mrs. Lai’s smile proved that she was really joking and not trying to get back at Bi Ting for dumping her son. It was interesting how Bi Ting told Mrs. Lai that she and her third son were so alike with their jokes, always nabbing at others. Mrs. Lai was surprised that Bi Ting knew Yu Xiang. Yet Bi Ting told her that Yu Xiang was her supervisor at the old workplace. It was funny how Mrs. Lai was looking at Bi Ting with curious eyes–like she knew when Bi Ting mentioned Yu Xiang that there was something up. It was cute how Mrs. Lai was still able to joke about it since I thought she would go all ballistic on Bi Ting, considering it was normal that the mother would be protective of her sons when it came to outsiders, etc. I have to admit that Mrs. Lai and Yu Xiang were so similar all right. The way they strike at others and how their teasing tactic was. And Bi Ting had no choice but to admit that the other person they’d been discussing the whole time was Yu Xiang. Mrs. Lai was so sharp anyway, it was hard to deny. Mrs. Lai quickly reminded Bi Ting of what she told Bi Ting earlier about letting Bi Ting choose between her handsome, good looking sons yet she didn’t realize it had already come true.

It seemed that Chairman Lai was camping over at Yang Bo Wen’s house that night. Yu Xiang came downstairs and saw him still sitting around, not sleeping. He told Yu Xiang that he was going to let go and sign the divorce papers. Yu Xiang was surprised that he was giving up. Yet he said that it was best he let Mrs. Lai go, allowing her to be happy rather than seeing him and hating him all the time. After some more rants, Chairman Lai decided to go for a walk and told Yu Xiang to go to sleep. Yu Xiang was still worried yet let his old man be.

It was finally the day when Mrs. Lai moved out of the apartment building. Yet she didn’t forget to come over and say goodbye to Bi Ting. She told Bi Ting that it wasn’t their last meeting since Bi Ting would still be around whether Bi Ting would end up choosing Jun Jie or Yu Xiang. But she decided to let Bi Ting off this time, telling Bi Ting that it didn’t matter who Bi Ting choose, Bi Ting must take good care of that person for her. (Nice?) Indeed, Bi Ting nodded, agreeing to her terms. (How cute!)

Interestingly enough, the day of Mrs. Lai’s move was also the day of the important meeting. Yu Xiang and Jun Jie bumped into each other at the lobby, having a showdown. They finally proceeded to the conference room after some initial taunting. It was the time when Chairman Lai would open his eyes because he was quite shocked upon hearing of Bi Jing Ye’s suggestion in choosing a new chairman. Yu Xiang already warned him the dude was up to something, if only he had listened. Bi Jing Ye continued to list all the reasons why Chairman Lai should step down. Chairman Lai still let him finish, telling Yu Xiang not to interrupt. One by one, the others agreed with Bi Jing Ye. Yet Chairman Lai seemed to have known something? Or had he pretended to be dumb all these times? Yup, Yu Xiang was as surprised that his old man had said that Bi Jing Ye was too abrupt with his moves. It showed the old man had known. It would be too much of a joke that he’d been in the field all these years yet didn’t seem knowledgeable or too naive with his moves. Even if he was exposed, Bi Jing Ye still didn’t want to back down. He had worked too hard for it, how could he, right? Man, seriously, Bi Jing Ye was cunning all right. He was indeed a pro. Because he didn’t want to step up himself, but he had pushed Jun Jie forward by putting out his name. It was a great move, because that would cause an even bigger rip between their family. It sure had some effect all right. Even if Jun Jie was equally surprised, it was too late. Yet the more surprising thing was Chairman Lai didn’t disagree with the suggestion. The voting quickly ensued with 3 vs. 2, Chairman Lai being out. Yu Xiang voted for Chairman Lai and Chairman Lai voted for himself. Bi Jing Ye and the others voted for Jun Jie. Jun Jie still had two votes, one from himself and one from his mother. It was all up to him now. What was he going to choose? To proceed with the plan? Another interesting thing unfolded at that moment, because Mrs. Lai walked in to cast her own vote instead of letting Jun Jie do it like previously. Perhaps it was more than a relief for Jun Jie since he wouldn’t have to face the betrayal later? Or perhaps it wouldn’t be as bad? But what had happened that had changed Mrs. Lai’s mind to come to the meeting after all? She chose Chairman Lai. It was 3 vs. 3 now. What next? The vote was down to Jun Jie now. In the end, Jun Jie had chosen his father. Nice turn of events actually because Bi Jing Ye was so counting on his plan to work. Indeed, Jun Jie was looking at his family picture the previous night and was having mixed feelings. He was also torn at the moment to even waited for so long until Mrs. Lai came in. So it made sense he wouldn’t want to ruin all of that. Even if he had chosen not to cause more rip on a personal level, he still chose to leave the company to pursue his own path.

Yu Xiang chased after Jun Jie after realizing what had happened. He managed to catch up to Jun Jie outside, thanking Jun Jie for what he’d done in the conference room. Jun Jie said that he was just doing what he had to, what was there to thank about? Yu Xiang didn’t want to lose the opportunity to explain to Jun Jie, so he went ahead to say that he didn’t try to affect Bi Ting’s decision previously. Yet Jun Jie brushed him off, stating that he had already let go. Moreover, Jun Jie had also gotten over the fact that Yu Xiang had won over him, knowing that Yu Xiang didn’t do it on purpose either. Jun Jie also confessed that he was just a bit saddened by the turn of events, that was it. Yu Xiang was reassured that things were cleared between them. Yu Xiang then asked Jun Jie why he had to quit. Jun Jie replied with how he was in the wrong with not letting their father know of Bi Jing Ye’s intention hence it was the only thing he could do to make up for it.

Back inside the conference room, there were only three people left. Chairman Lai, Mrs. Lai, and Bi Jing Ye. The inevitable confrontation ensued. Bi Jing Ye’s answer to Chairman Lai’s question as to why he had to do it? Um…because of love. He finally let it known that he was hating on Chairman Lai because Mrs. Lai had chosen Chairman Lai ages ago. After all that was said, Mrs. Lai said that she wouldn’t choose Bi Jing Ye regardless of whether Chairman Lai had hurt her or not. It was around then that Chairman Lai got his ‘power’ back and asked if Bi Jing Ye was resigning. Before leaving, Bi Jing Ye vouched that he wasn’t going to be struck down because of this one fall. (Nice?) Yet it was so cute that Mrs. Lai was pulling out her usual tricks again after Bi Jing Ye left. Chairman Lai rushed to thank her, thinking he’d been forgiven yet she clarified that she was doing this for the company, not because of him. So her decision with the divorce was still intact. (Great?) I totally agree with Bi Ting that Yu Xiang took after her. They were so alike with their tactics. Not to mention sharp reaction to matters.

At Sam Brunch, Yu Xiang recounted the events in the conference room earlier to Yu Jie, Tian Cheng, and Yang Bo Wen. His storytelling method was indeed appealing to the audience since they listened attentively. But that didn’t mean they had a lot to contribute after Yu Xiang was done. That didn’t stop Yu Xiang from celebrating though. Their victory was indeed something. Yu Jie soon pulled Yu Xiang aside (literally) to discuss some matters. She wanted Yu Xiang to ask Bi Ting for help with some of the wedding arrangements. (Or was that her attempt to match-make? I meant like since after Jun Jie was already over Bi Ting and how she was more than willing to pull some strings to get Jun Jie and Shu Xin together as well.) Yu Xiang agreed after much consideration, which earned some gratitude gestures from Yu Jie. And on a sadder note, Yi Ru was seen crying at another corner of Sam Brunch. One of her friends finally found where Michael went and even notified those debt collectors. Though Yi Ru was really lucky that she still wasn’t married to Michael yet, she was still saddened by the situation. Yet Tian Cheng cheered her up and told her she still had him…and the rest of the crew at Sam Brunch, and that they would work hard to take care of her, etc.

Back to the drawing board as Bi Jing Ye and Long Tian Xing had another meeting via rooftop. Bi Jing Ye told his son of the bad news but said that now his only hope left was on his son’s shoulders. It was indeed his only chance left to hurt the Lai family. But Long Tian Xing was already torn enough between various parties, how could he carry through? Or would his father work the usual tricks again to convince his son of how devilish Chairman Lai was so the plan would go forth?

Yu Jie finally broke it to her mother that she was getting married soon. Yet Mrs. Lai said that she already knew since Yu Xiang had already told her. Yu Jie quickly scolded Yu Xiang for being a big mouth, but they soon returned to the happy subject of the upcoming wedding. And Yu Jie’s plan didn’t work like how she had expected it for her mother to agree with her to forgive her father. Soon though, she cheered Yu Jie up by saying that they should go eat–and it was her treat.

And it was finally the day when Yu Xiang sought Bi Ting out to ask her for help with overseeing his sister’s wedding. Bi Ting turned him down, stating that she didn’t want to run into Jun Jie at the wedding. Not to mention how she probably couldn’t pull through, telling him to seek out other co-workers from Happiness Began. Yet he begged her to help. Bi Ting was surprised that Yu Xiang was willing to ‘beg’ someone. Yu Xiang said that it was his sister after all so he was willing to do it. She finally agreed to help him after realizing how much he cherished his family and placed them before himself. He was happier.

That night, Yu Xiang and Bi Ting met Yu Jie and Tian Xing at a lounge bar like Yu Xiang had said previously. It was also then that introductions were made and Yu Jie was able to see the ‘Zhang Bi Ting’ that had ruptured their family life at one time or another. This time though, she was more concerned about her wedding arrangements than settling old scores. Yu Xiang soon launched into asking when the wedding was taking place and he teased them if they were trying to meet the deadline Chairman Lai had set for them previously. Yet Yu Jie quickly defended herself that it wasn’t so. Yu Xiang was, of course, kidding. Yu Jie soon brought the attention on Bi Ting with saying that her initial feelings toward Bi Ting weren’t too good (mostly due to her brothers’ brawls) but she really liked Bi Ting’s style hence seeking her out for help with the wedding arrangements. Bi Ting had promised to make the best of it. Then there were awkward stares between Yu Xiang and Bi Ting.

Another happy event was taking place as Tian Cheng and Yang Zi were helping Yang Bo Wen propose to Sammy at Sam Brunch. This one, was more successful than the previous, considering how it was more carefully planned and executed. The funniest thing was Sam had exuded some attitude beforehand at the counter as Sammy was walking in to ask for Tian Cheng. So, of course, she had no idea such a touching proposal was in place.

Back at the company, Chairman Lai was holding a meeting to make some announcements. One of them being that Bi Jing Ye had resigned due to some reasons. Another was regarding his three sons. One of the employees wanted Yu Xiang to return to oversee a certain department. Yu Xiang thanked him for his support yet said he had already decided to break out on his own. Moving on, Chairman Lai also made an announcement that his daughter was getting married–and that his ‘Seeking For Love 365’ plan wasn’t in vain.

On the Jun Jie front, it seemed like Jun Jie and Shu Xin were getting along quite well this time around, unlike their forced interactions in the past. Perhaps the whole thing with Shu Xin letting go and leaving for a while had given them both time to cool down. They had indeed stepped back and looked at the situation from a different perspective. (And Jun Jie’s recent break up had indeed aided the situation majorly.)

The day that Jun Jie was moving, at least it was his company, he seemed down. (Obviously.) Yet he didn’t realize Tian Cheng, Yu Jie, and Yang Bo Wen came to help him, telling him that they would always be there for him since he would always be part of the family. Things were definitely getting back to normal with them. It reminded me of the earlier episodes where they were gathering at Sam Brunch to eat breakfast and talk nonsense. Yet this time around, they had been through so much and was even more understanding toward one another, ready to reunite once again as a family. Yu Jie even told Jun Jie he had to attend her wedding. After they were done moving stuff for Jun Jie, they each bid him the usual temporary goodbye, but told him to come back that night for a celebration–since they were welcoming Tian Xing. Yet Jun Jie turned them down, claiming he couldn’t face their father anymore. Yang Bo Wen soon interfered and invited him to move back since he needed to introduce his daughter to Jun Jie. Jun Jie was more than surprised that Yang Bo Wen had a daughter. They indeed needed to do some major catch up. Before leaving though, Yu Jie told Jun Jie it was Shu Xin who told her to come and help Jun Jie move since Shu Xin wanted them to have a chance to interact and patch things up once again.

Then there was the day when Bi Ting was seen back at her tree. Would she bump into Yu Xiang again? She was talking to her tree and asking for advice again. She confessed that she didn’t want to see Yu Xiang anymore yet she needed the money to forgo her dream of going to Paris. It was funny that Shu Xin spotted her and even smiled at how she was talking to a tree. And funnier that Shu Xin was now taking over as the advice-giver. Since Shu Xin soon approached Bi Ting to have a talk with her. So at somewhere in town, Shu Xin and Bi Ting sat down to do the usual catch up at last. Perhaps it made sense and not so random like I initially thought when I saw the previews that Shu Xin should be the one having the talk with Bi Ting to convince her of the situation. Well, Bi Ting was already cleared of the situation, but she was at a stalemate, not daring to move forward because she feared she would hurt even more people. But Shu Xin would be a suitable candidate to clear things even more for her, because Shu Xin was front and center during the past encounters to understand Bi Ting’s actually feelings at that time, even if she was in the process of sabotaging Bi Ting and Jun Jie. Now? Bi Ting had changed. Or at least her feelings had changed. It also made sense that these two women should finally have some kind of talk to wrap up their past chapter. Because Shu Xin left suddenly like that and didn’t say much, even if she knew she had failed to win Jun Jie’s heart at that time. These two really needed some closure and resolve some past conflicts also. It was strange to see how Bi Ting was encouraging Shu Xin on to be her courageous self and pursue her happiness, but Shu Xin was saying how she had already changed her perspective, knowing that Jun Jie didn’t love her, etc. After some more side talks, Bi Ting left to meet with Yu Jie while Shu Xin said she had other matters to tend to.

Then there was also the time when Chairman Lai finally met up with Gao You Da to discuss some matters. Chairman Lai was willing to do business with the latter if the terms were appropriate. What would Chairman Gao’s decision be? Sink with Bi Jing Ye or try to work out another alternative route for himself?

Wedding pictures and all those fun stuff aside, Bi Ting and Yu Jie finally have the talk with how Yu Jie was still not having good impressions toward Bi Ting because of what happened. Yet Bi Ting clarified that regardless of what happened in the past, she didn’t do it on purpose. And it didn’t matter if Yu Jie like her or not, but she had already done her best with preparing the wedding plans for Yu Jie. Because just like how Bi Ting had said that she really loved that job. Yu Jie actually liked it that Bi Ting was that blunt hence inviting her to Sam Brunch that night for their gathering.

Yi Ru finally found Michael and even bought him some food. Tian Cheng was suspicious of her sudden departure so he followed her hence finding out of their meeting. That Michael dude was indeed despicable, even daring to say that he loved Yi Ru the most, and how she still cared for him hence doing all these for him now. He tried to convince her to help him start over again, but he received a slap instead. That also riled him up, so he proceeded to Plan B, wanting to use Yi Ru as the bargaining chip to extort some money from her father. It was then that Tian Cheng jumped out to kick Michael’s knife away and managed to savor the whole situation. It seemed like ‘the hero saving the beauty’ scene wasn’t so old after all if done right.

Yu Xiang’s new plan–or more like his old plan but new partners–was really coming along with their meeting. Yu Xiang indeed was showing more and more signs of maturity as his partners complimented him for his sincerity, but they weren’t too used to it yet. After they left, Min Ling said that their company was a tad too small and that he should seek Bi Ting out. Yu Xiang said that he also had to think for Jun Jie so it was best that they revisited the plan in the next life. (LOL) Min Ling said Yu Xiang and Bi Ting were so similar, saying those similar words. She pointed out that they both were very kind-hearted people yet were carrying too heavy a burden. She said that they should cherish the people in front of them. Yu Xiang agreed that he should cherish the person in front of him, but he said Jun Jie was hurt so deeply and he had to take partial responsibility for it. Min Ling trapped him at last by saying that he finally admitted to liking Bi Ting. He tried to dodge yet Min Ling forced him to admit it at last. Yes, he nodded. (That was so cute.)

Back at Sam Brunch, Tian Cheng guided Yi Ru toward a seat and even went to get some water for her. She then apologized to him for not believing him previously when he said Michael was a bad guy. He didn’t mind at all. Everything was already sorted out, right? It didn’t matter anymore.

Jun Jie and Shu Xin were having dinner together like once upon a time. Yet this time it wasn’t forced or anything. Perhaps (like I mentioned before), their time apart had allowed them to appreciate these moments more. Being too persistent or too into it might have the opposite effect and giving each other pressures. Yet now, it seemed like they were more fitting than ever. Indeed, Jun Jie admitted that Shu Xin had changed a lot these past few months. It was probably more comfortable to talk to her, without the whole ‘perfect’ personality that he had to face previously.

Yu Xiang came to Sam Brunch to find no one around. It was indeed strange. Yet he soon found Tian Cheng and Yi Ru chatting in one of the rooms. Yang Bo Wen walked in with Sammy and Yang Zi around then as well. They were introduced. Next to arrive were Yu Jie and Tian Xing. Yu Jie said that she also invited Bi Ting over, hoping that the others didn’t mind. She soon called out to Bi Ting–to which Bi Ting entered and Yu Xiang was in full nervousness around then. Though he wouldn’t outright admit it to them–or anyone for that matter. Tian Cheng, of course, said he didn’t mind since they were one big family after all. Even if they weren’t family, they were friends, etc. Tian Xing soon confessed that it was his first time attending such a large family gathering event. Bi Ting also felt the warmness of their group. Soon, Tian Cheng clinked his glass to call for attention, announcing his welcoming message to their new friends. Bi Ting was more than touched of the gesture. She was more than touched that she was finally allowed into their circle. They even welcomed Chairman Lai! (It was so cute.) The next item on the ‘To-Do’ list? Of course, like Tian Cheng said, Chairman Lai had to pursue their mother back again so they could be a complete family. The pressure was definitely on their old man. (Jia you!) It was indeed “Hong Men Yan (鴻門宴)” for him, lol. Yet he wasn’t afraid of it anymore. He swore in front of them to carry through.

Out somewhere, Jun Jie and Shu Xin were taking a stroll after dinner. That was until fate intervened. Yup, somehow, she carelessly tripped and he came to the rescue. The typical formula to bring them together. But it was all right, I guess. Yet Shu Xin broke off the stare and made her move. In a way, it was up to Jun Jie to pursue her now, not making her do all the work like previously.

Back at Sam Brunch, they were leaving in Taxis, taking cautions since everyone had drunk some. It was indeed a joyous night after so much had happened so it was excusable that they were a tad off. Chairman Lai was especially unusually happy, blurting out random stuff. Yet Yu Jie insisted on sending him home. She reminded Tian Xing of the meeting with her mother the next day before saying goodbye to her brother and Bi Ting. After saying goodbye to Tian Xing as well, it was just Yu Xiang and Bi Ting again. (Aww…their awkward smiles. Cute…) He offered to walk her home–to which she agreed since it was good to take a walk after they just ate. She walked off first as he smiled and followed.

The episode continued with Bi Ting stepping into the break room to give Yu Xiang a bow of gratitude as he was taking off his makeup. Yu Xiang, being himself, shrugged it off and told her not to be so touched. He even threw in some words of teasing. Yet he finally admitted that it was him showing his appreciation for her help these past few days too and stating that she should treat it as his wedding gift to her. Before Yu Xiang realized it, Bi Ting was already breaking into tears. Alarmed, he got up from his seat, abandoning his mirror and told her to not cry. She told him that it was just that no one had anything done anything like that for her before hence she couldn’t help but be moved to tears. He only knew to wrap his hand around her shoulders and told her not to cry at that point. It was also at that moment that Min Ling walked in. The interesting thing about the whole scene was Min Ling wasn’t the least bit jealous of the two. She had flashed on a knowing smile after the initial surprise worn off upon the discovery of their embrace inside the break room.

On the Jun Jie front, Chairman Lai finally went to his company to confront him about the whole ‘betraying the company’ incident. They were finally having a face to face talk and not beating around the bush anymore. As words intensified with how Chairman Lai was accusing Jun Jie of betraying their family, Jun Jie returned with how Chairman Lai didn’t believe him because he wasn’t Chairman Lai’s real son hence not giving him a chance to explain. Things got uglier as Jun Jie reminded Chairman Lai that Chairman Lai had also betrayed the family by cheating on Mrs. Lai. At that point, of course there was no way to ‘talk things out’ so Chairman Lai just declared Jun Jie dead to the Lai family and stormed off.

Opposing to the previous scene’s hectic confrontation, Yu Jie was at a restaurant celebrating with the cast and crew. It was their wrap up party and it was said that Long Tian Xing wasn’t able to make it to the party because he wasn’t feeling well. However, as Yu Jie was parting from the group and opened a certain door, she saw a set of candles in front of her forming a question. Yes, Long Tian Xing had a surprise for her. He had worked out a proposal really good with the romantic candles as well the crowd cheering him on, urging Yu Jie to accept him. Yu Jie, more than touched of his words at that moment, was not only moved to tears but even nodded her acceptance at last. And as they shared a hug after Long Xing placed the ring on her finger already, the crowd cheered even louder for the newly blessed  couple.

Back on the Jun Jie front, he had contacted his new father “Bi Jing Ye” to talking things over. Bi Jing Ye, being the mastermind that he was, quickly jumped into empathizing with Jun Jie and continued to condemn Chairman Lai even more. (Well, in a way the old man deserved it for being so trusting of Bi Jing Ye.) He finally got Jun Jie to help him in overthrowing Chairman Lai altogether at the next “big” meeting.

Meanwhile, at Happiness Began, Bi Ting walked back into the office to find Min Ling still around. She immediately questioned Min Ling about it, pondering if the latter was crazy. Yet Min Ling was only smiling her ‘secretive’ smile, not caring if Bi Ting was upset or accusing her of other possible ‘crimes’. As Bi Ting was chiding Min Ling for not showing up to help her and wondering why Min Ling was still around when it was now off work, Min Ling continued to smile on. After Bi Ting was finally done with her series of questions, Min Ling spoke up at last to unleash her own series of questions. Before Bi Ting could defend herself with the ‘intimate’ hug, Yu Xiang stepped in to clarify of the situation, telling Min Ling not to think too much of it. Though Min Ling didn’t say anything more yet she was far from convinced there wasn’t anything going on between the two of them. Bi Ting’s guilty expression while Yu Xiang was explaining the situation had said it all. What ruined the whole somewhat routine yet fun atmosphere for them was Bi Ting’s declaration of her early departure because of some changes in the school schedule in Paris. That really got to Min Ling and Yu Xiang as their expression changed. Yu Xiang’s calm state was ruptured (and could be seen through his eyes) as Min Ling took a glance at him to see how he was holding up. Min Ling, not wanting to leave things on such a note, stepped out from her desk and apologized to Bi Ting for her previous joke. Yet Bi Ting brushed it off as nothing and told Min Ling not to worry about it. As Bi Ting collected her bag and was leaving, Min Ling tried to rush after her, still disturbed by the turn of events. Yu Xiang finally stepped out to stop Bi Ting, telling her that he would send her home for the last time. Unexpectedly though, Bi Ting turned him down stating that since he didn’t send her home on her first day of work, it was all right that he didn’t send her home on the last day of work. Before she left, Bi Ting reminded Yu Xiang to take good care of the person beside him (Min Ling). After she was gone, Min Ling turned to stare at Yu Xiang, still worried. Yu Xiang was still in a confused state and soon turned to stare at Min Ling as well. He finally let out a sigh at last.

As Bi Ting made it home, Jun Jie was in front of her apartment building waiting for her. Bi Ting was more surprised than ever to see Jun Jie there. Though it would be natural that he would show up at her place at random times, right? After all, they were going to get married soon. Yet Jun Jie didn’t answer her, he just grabbed a hold of her and hugged her to him. Alarmed and worried, she asked what had happened. Not only was the day so bad for Jun Jie already with Chairman Lai severing his ties off with Jun Jie but he also found out that Xue Ming had betrayed him ONCE AGAIN and ran off already. (Wow, no one saw that coming, right? YES, I’m being sarcastic here. But it was somewhat off that Xue Ming did it again. I meant after he was so touched that Jun Jie was willing to give him a second chance when Jun Jie chased him down that one time and was even willing to forgive him. But it was indeed not too far-fetched since it was in Xue Ming’s nature to pull another fast one.) Bi Ting, being her strong and independent self all these years, quickly comforted Jun Jie with her enlightened words. (But I swear the scriptwriters really set it up bad for Bi Ting. She would be a monster to leave him now–IF she was going to change her mind that was. It didn’t matter if he had done all of that stuff to hurt her in the past, it was all on her now–according to some people since she’d already forgiven him for the other thing and moved on. So YES, good luck on getting out of this one.)

Back in her apartment, Bi Ting was feeling worse than anything at the moment. (Well, her face said it all.) As she was sorting her turmoil thoughts though, someone rang the bell. She had to pull herself together again to face the other person. Yet she was more than relief that it was Mrs. Lai coming over to share some snacks with her. Mrs. Lai was able to detect Bi Ting’s mood immediately though she had forced a smile on her face. After Bi Ting confessed of her ‘sticky’ situation that she had gotten herself into, Mrs. Lai–so unlike her usual helpful, enlightened self–said that she was not able to give Bi Ting any types of advice at the moment to forgo the decision into the right direction. She, indeed, had her own worries after that confession from Bi Jing Ye. But have no fear, because Mrs. Lai was willing to give her a suggestion to solve her own obstacle. Bi Ting quickly thanked Mrs. Lai for her suggestion and also broke the news that she was leaving for Paris soon. Mrs. Lai was more than shocked by the news. It was indeed quite fast with the move. Though she was more than happy for Bi Ting upon learning it was ‘Mr. 20 Seconds’ who had helped Bi Ting turned her dream into reality. But she was pondering why Bi Ting looked so sad and even joked that Bi Ting was not willing to part from her. Bi Ting, her guard off at that point, said that she was unwilling to part from “Lai…” (fill in the blanks here). She soon turned it into something else that would fit with the character ‘lai’ and said that she was unwilling to part from her mother. What she was willing to confess to Mrs. Lai was that after she had finally made the decision, she was feeling even sadder than before. Mrs. Lai quickly reminded her she was listening to the voice of her heart and she emphasized that whatever Bi Ting decided, Bi Ting must let Mr. 20 Seconds know because the more she delayed the situation, the more she would end up hurting the other party.

Days later at Happiness Began, Min Ling was saying how she had already cleared out Bi Ting’s stuff and was going to send it to Bi Ting later. Min Ling even went on saying how it was a pity that Bi Ting left because it was getting even more lonely around there. Yet Yu Xiang quickly assured her with the naturalness of life, people coming and going. Soon though, their boss–Gao You Da–walked in. Chairman Gao was breaking some news to Yu Xiang. Definitely bad news. Yu Xiang’s reaction? He quit. Even if he didn’t want to, but he honestly wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he had gone forward with Chairman Gao’s plans.

Meanwhile, at the airport, Bi Ting and Jun Jie were heading toward the terminal to catch their flight. As she was walking and still not paying attention to her surroundings, some music finally came on to wake her up. (Was that in her mind or around the airport?) Anyway, Bi Ting was reminded of all the things that Yu Xiang had done for her in the past. It was also at that moment that she realized her true decision. And yes, it was all in front of her all these times yet she wasn’t able to see it. (AND this time, I swear I don’t blame her because they got off on a very rough start so how in the world was she supposed to know that her true fate was actually Yu Xiang?) A tad later, Jun Jie finally realized that Bi Ting had stopped and wasn’t following him anymore. He turned around and called to her. She returned to the current moment, no longer in her trance, but she looked determined. It indeed was a very hard speech to deliver, but she had mustered up all her courage to explain to him that there were too many things that she couldn’t let go yet so she couldn’t go with him to Paris. She even told him that she should have told him earlier. Yet his expression turned from sad to anger within seconds, asking if what she was stating that she was unable to let go was actually Yu Xiang. Yet she denied it, stating that she couldn’t let go of her mother, Xiao Q, and her work. (I seriously don’t blame her for dodging at this point. It was already a miracle that she was admitting fault and everything; and it was too sticky at the moment to mention anything like that, considering how ugly it was with the fight at Happiness Began previously.) What was surprising about the whole situation was how Bi Ting’s courage recovered faster than anything when Jun Jie said that he knew there was something going on between Bi Ting and Yu Xiang. She was indeed offended and hurt that Jun Jie didn’t trust her, because like she stated there wasn’t anything going on between them YET. Then she recovered and told him to forget it since if he couldn’t trust her, they couldn’t walk the rest of the way together anyway. He returned that one with a smart-aleck response by saying that Yu Xiang had finally succeeded. Yet she was determined to explain herself, she said that the reasons why she couldn’t go with him to Paris were numerous. She nailed it when she asked him why he kept picking on Yu Xiang–because Yu Xiang didn’t do anything. Jun Jie, being even more upset than before, asked if Bi Ting was speaking on Yu Xiang’s behalf. What? Jun Jie dared to say all of those? Oh yeah, he thought he was right hence saying he was really disappointed in her for speaking up for ‘those’ people who had hurt him so badly. He even told Bi Ting that she didn’t have to worry about him bothering her anymore since his feelings for her had ‘died’ along with the betrayal. He was determined to find Yu Xiang and confront Yu Xiang, even telling her not to meddle into it.

As interesting as it got, Bi Ting bumped into Shu Xin (literally) outside and exchanged a few words before rushing off. Shu Xin was back for some business trip. Or was it settling some old and personal scores? Regardless, Bi Ting had promised to keep in touch after she apologized for needing to rush off to tend to some matters.

Back at Happiness Began, Yu Xiang was packing up and preparing to leave the place. Min Ling was helping him pack. He was telling her that it was just a matter of time before he left since he didn’t want to force himself into doing stuff for Chairman Gao anymore. He would be able to do his own things now. It was also then that Yu Xiang took the time to thank Min Ling for being so supportive of him. He even apologized for using her as a shield all these times yet she said she didn’t mind, and he didn’t have to be so serious about it since she was really enjoying those moments and that he didn’t have to blame himself for it. Later, Yu Xiang was returning a box of files back into storage. On his way back to his desk, he was ambushed by Jun Jie storming in when he had his back turned. Min Ling soon jumped to the rescue, trying to push Jun Jie out of the way. Jun Jie yelled out that Yu Xiang deserved it. (What happened to ‘the talk’. I guess you couldn’t trust some people.) So after all those rants at Yu Xiang, Jun Jie left so Min Ling turned around to ask for Yu Xiang’s well being. Some ‘talk’ that was since Yu Xiang was only able to jump in to yell out that Jun Jie shouldn’t ‘pin some random crimes’ on him.

That night, Bi Ting returned to her apartment like usual. Yet after lugging her stuff inside, she just sat there by the door, not even bothering to turn on the lights. Mrs. Lai saw the opened door and rushed in to check on her, and finally turning on the lights. Only turning to look at Mrs. Lai briefly, Bi Ting returned to stare at the ground. Mrs. Lai didn’t mind but had on her usual motherly smile, sitting down at the bench next to Bi Ting. Mrs. Lai just calmly asked Bi Ting all the usual questions to narrow down the list of possibilities as Bi Ting nodded away at every single question. When Bi Ting finally spoke up though, she said that what she hated the most was hurting others. Yet Mrs. Lai told her she couldn’t make the decision for Bi Ting but told Bi Ting that Bi Ting shouldn’t ‘force’ herself into anything. She also told Bi Ting that Bi Ting should seek out Mr. 20 Seconds later to have a good talk after everyone calmed down to clear the air so they could at least be friends. (Seriously?) Bi Ting promised Mrs. Lai she would do that later. Mrs. Lai soon moved onto the next topic of conversation, stating that Bi Ting should accompany her to go eat. (Awww…)

Yu Xiang returned home that night with a box and bumped into Yu Jie–who questioned him about the mark on his face. Yu Jie wouldn’t let him off with the ‘nothing’ answer but soon ended up taking care of his wound instead of rushing out for her ‘date’. (Yu Jie was indeed growing up now since she was caring toward others more than her own situation.) Yu Xiang finally came up with the answer that he had bumped into the door. (What? Nice one…) Yu Jie didn’t believe him. But he soon moved on to tease her about her ‘date’ again. She let it loose that she was getting married. His teasing continued on, though he soon stopped and asked her about the upcoming wedding ceremony. She told him she wanted a simple wedding within the family only, etc. He pondered why the rush and even blurted out of his suspicion of her pregnancy. Of course, she hit him. Wild guesses all right. But he quit it and congratulated her at last. Yu Xiang soon learned that Yu Jie was actually having a girl’s night out that night with Shu Xin. Yu Xiang mumbled something about a coincidence. Then he told Yu Jie to go talk to Jun Jie later. As Yu Jie launched into another round of interrogation, Yu Xiang brushed it off and said he was going upstairs.

Soon, Yu Jie was heading to Jun Jie’s workplace to see him. But according to his words, he was the one who called her. He admitted in hitting Yu Xiang previously but said he was too upset at that time to think it through. (Really? Nice dodge. Okay, it did make sense since he was really upset at that point, but if he didn’t let Bi Jing Ye get to him, then he wouldn’t keep picking on Yu Xiang. Have to give Bi Jing Ye so much credit for perfect execution of his plans though.) Wow, look at Jun Jie talking like an expert. Oh yeah, he was indeed an expert in that field since he played the card in the past already so he knew it when people were doing it, right? But anyway, moving on, Yu Jie was really maturing since she was discussing in a more matured perspective than before. (Okay, again, I get it that she was supporting her friend in the past, but this time, she took it further with trying to dissolve the matter more than pointing more fingers to intensify the situation.) After all that was said, Yu Jie finally broke it to Jun Jie that she was getting married. He was more than happy for her. After some teasing from him, she said she would introduce a friend to him. It was none other than Shu Xin. She had returned and it wasn’t for a visit. She was thinking of doing business with him. Then Yu Jie broke it to Shu Xin that the other two had already broken up so no one had to worry about causing misunderstandings anymore. It seemed like Jun Jie was more than happy to see her (Shu Xin).

After the meeting with Jun Jie and Shu Xin, Yu Jie returned home to a surprise planned by Yu Xiang, Tian Cheng, her uncle, and her cousin. It was indeed a joyous moment and worth celebrating for. A change of atmosphere for once after all the initial teasing from one to the other. Yu Jie was indeed the leading lady of the night so they shouldn’t talk randomly. It was time to tease her and her soon to be husband. Yet Yu Jie didn’t let them off so easily for teasing her.

A new day yet some old moods were still in place. Bi Ting was seen at her tree, talking to it again. She was still beating herself up for being a horrible person. Like usual, as she was getting up to leave, she spotted Yu Xiang standing right there. Had he heard? His first question to her was why she didn’t go with Jun Jie to Paris. She could only see the mark on his face thus asking him about it. He sharply responded that it was none of her business and she should answer his question. After some staring between the two of them, Bi Ting finally answered him. Not the top one, but one of the other reasons. He blamed her for not telling them earlier hence causing everyone’s unhappiness at that point. What was even more surprising was how she lashed back at him, stating it was his fault for doing all those stuff for her before she left. She stormed off after saying what was on her mind. He chased after her, asking her about her future job situation but she told him it was none of his business and left for good, leaving him behind still unsure.

Back on the Jun Jie front, he was definitely falling deeper into Bi Jing Ye’s traps. Or was it? Because even though he was believing Bi Jing Ye’s words with how Chairman Lai was active on bringing him down, he told Bi Jing Ye he was quitting. What? That was strange. Bi Jing Ye was off his game all right. He quickly rushed to convince Jun Jie about how they should join forces and reclaim what was theirs. Jun Jie said that he didn’t want to sever all ties with the Lai family just like that. (Okay, this was strange since he was really pissed off before. Or was it because of how Yu Jie had treated him like a brother still and others still worrying for him that he decided to not go forth with bringing Chairman Lai down?) Bi Jing Ye was indeed cunning all right since he managed to drag Jun Jie back into the game again just seconds later.

At the Lai resident, Yu Jie wasn’t just coming back to see her old man, but she had also brought Tian Xing along. It was only after she broke the news of her upcoming wedding that she confessed that Tian Xing was outside at the moment, waiting to be seen. Of course, the old man was more than happy to hear some good news and looking forward to the upcoming wedding. He only needed a word of assurance that Tian Xing would treat Yu Jie well and take good care of her, etc. The usual talk from a concerned parent. Still touching moment. (And somewhat of a hilarious one.)

At a restaurant somewhere, Bi Ting and Min Ling were catching up on the latest developments. Min Ling was asking Bi Ting about her next move and whether she was returning to Happiness Began, etc. After that, they were moving on to the juicy part of the conversation–Yu Xiang. Bi Ting quickly went into full panic mode and told Min Ling not to say those things, etc. Yet Min Ling clarified that she wasn’t going to go ‘there’, why was Bi Ting panicking for. Min Ling soon relieved Bi Ting of her worries since she clarified that she and Yu Xiang weren’t together, and she was just playing along with Yu Xiang’s schemes so Jun Jie wouldn’t misunderstand Bi Ting and Yu Xiang, etc. Bi Ting was surprised yet she said that Min Ling did indeed like Yu Xiang. Min Ling denied it, stating that she only treated Yu Xiang like her idol. It was funny how she was saying how if she was choosing someone to date, she wouldn’t choose such a bad attitude guy. Min Ling moved on to saying that Bi Ting should consider Yu Xiang. Bi Ting said that so many things had happened, it was better that they didn’t see each other again. Yet Min Ling said it was weird that they both said the same thing. That got Bi Ting thinking. So, would they have a chance later? (YES, it was killing me how slow they were getting together. I do understand the current situation with it being too inappropriate to get together but I sort of am impatient with the scriptwriters for throwing in too many obstacles for them.)

Back at Sam Brunch, Yi Ru got some visitors. They had introduced themselves as Michael Kwan’s friends. Yet they looked too threatening to be ‘friendly’. Tian Cheng wanted to come along for the talk but Yi Ru told him he didn’t need to. Still, it was hard for Tian Cheng not to worry. And it was one of the good calls Tian Cheng made to follow them, because they were indeed not that ‘friendly’ like they tried to let on. Though it had worked against him, Tian Cheng would rather be there at the moment than regret later for not taking any actions toward the suspicious signs seen from the other parties. The person stealing the show, in the end, was the uncle, Yang Bo Wen. Though Tian Cheng couldn’t complain since he would be beaten to a pulp if Yang Bo Wen hadn’t come out in time to spot them.

Back inside, Yang Bo Wen was helping Tian Cheng toward a chair while Yi Ru rushed to get the first aid kit. And in a way, the beating that Tian Cheng took was worth it after all since he was able to enjoy the moment when Yi Ru applied some ointment onto his wounds. It seemed like Michael had fled or something since Yi Ru was still unable to locate him. Though Yi Ru was touched by Tian Cheng’s previous courageous acts, she also chided him for acting rash, not thinking of Xiao Die in the first place. Yet he stated that he only thought of Yi Ru’s well-being at that point.

At the Lai resident, Yu Xiang and Chairman Lai were having one of those arguments again. YES, still the Bi Jing Ye talk. Yu Xiang wanted to tell him about Gao You Da’s plans and how Bi Jing Ye must be the mastermind behind it all. Yet Chairman Lai told Yu Xiang not to attack Bi Jing Ye anymore, etc. (He was seriously in for good this time.) Yu Xiang said the upcoming important meeting would prove his words right and that his old man should be careful before leaving. After Yu Xiang was gone, Chairman Lai received a call from Bi Jing Ye. Still unsure of what his next move was, but Bi Jing Ye had disclosed of Mrs. Lai’s whereabouts to Chairman Lai, urging him to come upstairs and persuade her to come back home. Mrs. Lai, thinking that Bi Ting was coming over, opened the door to her husband.

Back at Sam Brunch, Yi Ru was still trying to locate Michael. Tian Cheng finally told Yi Ru that Yang Bo Wen had spotted Micheal earlier with a girl and they said they were going to the south to see his mother. Yet Tian Cheng suspected they were fleeing. Yi Ru, unable to take the news, said she wasn’t feeling well and headed home. Things were definitely falling apart all around.

Jumping to Chairman Lai and Mrs. Lai again at her apartment, she asked him if it was Bi Jing Ye who had disclosed her place. He admitted it and launched into his apology speech. It was too crazy yet funny at the same time. (He had no idea what Bi Jing Ye was planning at the moment.) Mrs. Lai was definitely not letting him off. Served him right for trusting Bi Jing Ye too much and falling into all those traps. The last trick? Um, not tricks. She told him to sign a certain paper. Yes, it was the divorce papers so she could have her freedom again. After he left–devastated, Bi Jing Ye called Jun Jie up to tell him to go forward with their plan. YUP, it was unfolding. When Jun Jie finally received the address from Bi Jing Ye via text message, he realized it was also Bi Ting’s place. What now?

Talking about Bi Ting, she was at home, still lost in thoughts. With her door ajar, it was easy for Mrs. Lai to come in. She launched into asking of Bi Ting’s well-being as Bi Ting rushed to make space for her on the sofa. While she confided in Bi Ting, both heard Mrs. Lai’s doorbell being rung. Mrs. Lai was more than determined not to be caught so she sent Bi Ting out to chase Mr. Love At First Sight away. She had no idea. Yet it was Bi Ting’s turn to panic hence Mrs. Lai rushing forward to rescue her from ’20 Seconds Guy’. They had a plan! It was so cute, lol. Mrs. Lai said she would volunteer to investigate and if it wasn’t anything along the line of ‘friendliness’, she would chase him away. Yet the person the most surprise of the outcome was Mrs. Lai since she opened the door without looking through the peephole and called out his name when she somewhat recovered. He, of course, called her ‘Mom’ so Bi Ting was able to hear them because she was just behind some screen hiding. Bi Ting, not giving herself a chance to digest, jumped out from behind the screen and confronted the pair of mother and son. Mrs. Lai quickly asked Bi Ting if Jun Jie was really ’20 Seconds Guy’ and then she quickly introduced him as her second son. (OY! It was getting too complicated again.)

Stopping the coming dramatic moments temporarily, Mrs. Lai took Jun Jie to her apartment instead. She let him settle down and talk with her. They discussed about their family matters briefly. They soon moved on to how he should ‘represent’ her to sign papers with the upcoming important meeting. (WOW, really?) It was hard to blame her since she really trusted him. He was there with her way before she entered the Lai resident so it was only reasonable to trust him. And it was only Bi Jing Ye’s crafty planning that had allowed the plan to go toward this point. All business aside, Mrs. Lai was thinking of moving again. It was more like she didn’t want to stick around with how things were going with Jun Jie and Bi Ting. Yes, she had her own reasons for defending her son after all.

Back home that night, Yang Bo Wen was helping Tian Cheng inside. He called for Yu Xiang and Yu Jie to come help. Those two were reading inside yet they abandoned their books to go help. Not to mention investigate about the matter in general. That wasn’t all for the night’s tale, because Chairman Lai soon showed up at their door, crying out tearfully that their mother wanted to divorce him.

Though Yu Xiang had suspected that there was some hidden agenda, he agreed anyway upon discovering that she must have seen the red folder already. Bi Ting took him to one of those shops at the side roads. He wasn’t a bit amused about it and showed his unwillingness. When he tried to leave, Bi Ting quickly grabbed him and pushed him into a seat. She managed to persuade him to trust her for once. OMG, it was so hilarious. It was one of the moments where it somewhat returned to the old days when they were hanging out. She was pitying him for never trying that dish before? (LOL) He was soon convinced because he wolfed that bowl of food down faster than her. To think that he was unwilling before. Or did they finish at the same time? Yet it was so funny and cute that they called for a second bowl at the same time with the same expression. Three more bowls later and Yu Xiang seemed full. Bi Ting requested for the bill at that time and insisted on paying since it was indeed to thank him for accepting her proposal, etc. They soon moved on to discuss about Jun Jie with Yu Xiang admitting that though he was mad at Jun Jie but Jun Jie was indeed a good man and a good brother so he really wished for Jun Jie to find his own happiness. Bi Ting told him that she understood, even going on to say that she didn’t really know what was going on between both brothers but Yu Xiang shouldn’t be like that anymore, always wanting to ‘save face’ and let things stay in his way. She also promised to talk to Jun Jie about it as well. Yu Xiang told her that the only thing standing between him and his brother was that Jun Jie feared he (Yu Xiang) would snatch Bi Ting away from Jun Jie. Yu Xiang continued by saying, of course, that was true because he…(he paused a bit to make the atmosphere even more intense) was so handsome and his ‘enticing’ vibe was so strong hence she would be affected by him. He, of course, clarified that he wouldn’t choose her, stomping on her ‘pride’ once again. (Yes, he was trying to make light of the situation at the end but was that a subtle hint when he paused a bit?) Though he was pointing out the impossibility with him choosing her, she wasn’t upset but laughed out in awkwardness, agreeing with him it was impossible between them.

As Yu Xiang sent Bi Ting home via Taxi, Jun Jie was seen across the street about to call her up. Yet he soon stopped and decided to spy on them instead upon seeing them exit the Taxi together. (A familiar scene? Well, let’s see how he liked it now that he was being misunderstood before. Yet he probably didn’t think about that. Probably thinking poor of Yu Xiang again.) And what in the world was Yu Xiang doing, leaning toward Bi Ting like that? Um…he spotted some food remnants still stuck on the corner of her mouth hence wanting to clean it off for her. She thought he wanted to kiss her initially and had closed her eyes yet soon realized it wasn’t so when he used his handkerchief to wipe the smudge off for her. He even chided her for not knowing how to clean up after eating. After the usual thank you, goodbyes, and other well-wishing words, Bi Ting walked to her apartment building with Yu Xiang staring at her to make sure she was safely in before leaving himself. Only Jun Jie was left behind and fuming across the street, still staring and wondering about them.

As Bi Ting was just finished with changing out of her work clothes, she heard her doorbell rang. It wasn’t Jun Jie coming upstairs to rupture the peace. But it was Mrs. Lai, Bi Ting’s new neighbor, coming over to share a midnight snack. Yet what Jun Jie did was interrupt their heart to heart talk by calling Bi Ting. (He was probably trying to investigate the matter subtly?) Anyway, Bi Ting told him she would give him an answer soon. She needed to discuss with her mother about the whole going overseas matter even more before making a decision about overseas education. After getting off the phone, she was teased by Mrs. Lai about being pursued by two men. Yet Bi Ting said it wasn’t exactly like so. She finally confessed to Mrs. Lai that her heart was changing a bit. (A bit?)  Though Bi Ting soon apologized for complaining about her situation. Mrs. Lai didn’t mind and said she was willing to listen to Bi Ting’s troubles. So Bi Ting now had someone else to share her feelings, not just needing to run to her ‘tree’ to pour her heart out anymore (and risk being overheard by Yu Xiang again, lol).

Downstairs, Jun Jie finally walked toward Bi Ting’s apartment building and wanted to ring the bell. Yet he stopped himself. Stepping back a little, he looked up to what was supposed to be a window and left.

Back on Chairman Lai’s front, he was finally back. Or more like he just got off from a plane. No one was there to greet him this time. Or was that it? As he was walking toward the Taxi area, someone called to him, asking if he needed help calling a Taxi yet he responded with saying that it was fine, he could do it himself. It wasn’t until he turned around to face the other person that he realized it was Yu Jie. It wasn’t just Yu Jie though because even Yang Bo Wen, Tian Cheng, and Yu Xiang were there to welcome him back.

The next day, Bi Ting was paying Mrs. Lai a visit as Mrs. Lai was getting ready at her place. Bi Ting was coming over to help Mrs. Lai cleanup. After receiving some round of tease, she finally agreed for Bi Ting to help her.

On the Jun Jie front, specifically his company, he walked in on one of Xue Ming’s weird phone conversations again. Was Xue Ming up to something once again? (I thought he had repented after the previous downfall and was soon forgiven by Jun Jie and was also given a second chance.) But the random conversation between Jun Jie and Xue Ming had to subside for something else. Yu Jie was coming in to see Jun Jie. He didn’t look happy upon seeing her presence there. Yet Yu Jie seemed to have cooled down after the last heated encounter already?

At the Lai resident, Chairman Lai was seen looking devastated by the dining room alone. Yu Xiang soon entered the house, asking his well being. Chairman Lai informed Yu Xiang that he had asked Yu Jie to go look for Jun Jie and bring him back for breakfast as well since he had something he wanted to announce. After understanding the situation, Yu Xiang said that they just have to wait for Yu Jie since Jun Jie wouldn’t come back anyway. He soon explained his words, stating that Jun Jie didn’t treat them like family because he had misunderstood that Chairman Lai only cared for his ‘real’ children. Chairman Lai was saddened by it but wasn’t defeated because he believed Jun Jie will one day understand and come back to the family. The conversation quickly steered toward how Yu Xiang was still upset over the whole ‘manipulating’ them matter and treating them like a bunch of kids hence this current state, and he went on to saying how it had given Bi Jing Ye a chance to jump in. Chairman Lai didn’t want to hear about it, especially telling Yu Xiang not to be suspicious of Bi Jing Ye. (Wow, really? After all of what the other lady said, it wasn’t enough to incriminate him? Well, from his point of view, she could be upset and wanted to blurt all those out, but still, it should make him want to exhaust all possibilities instead of just shrugging it aside.) And after some more heated words, Chairman Lai dismissed Yu Xiang, considering how they weren’t able to eat breakfast together anymore. Yu Xiang was more glad to oblige since he couldn’t discuss the whole Bi Jing Ye matter with his father anyway. (I take his side this time.)

Back at Jun Jie and Xue Ming’s company, Yu Jie was seen talking to Jun Jie. He seemed to be less unwilling to talk to her at this point? Considering how he had complimented her for her current mature state. Soon, Yu Jie was apologizing for her fierce attitude at their uncle’s place that one night. Jun Jie said he had forgotten it already. (Oh really?  Or was it because Yu Jie wasn’t a guy and couldn’t ‘snatch’ Bi Ting away from him like how he claimed Yu Xiang to be?) Yu Jie was back at it again, wondering what kind of person Bi Ting was that her own pal wasn’t able to win over and even Yu Xiang would speak up for her (which Jun Jie had frown when Yu Jie mentioned how Yu Xiang had spoken up for Bi Ting). Yet when Jun Jie said that he was able to be himself when he was with Bi Ting and how he and Bi Ting were from the same world, Yu Jie soon gave in and said as long as her brother was happy, she was all right with it. (I guess she would drop it now? Or not….)

As the day moved on, Yi Ru and Xiao Die were sitting at a bench waiting for someone. Luckily this time, it was Tian Cheng, not Michael. Tian Cheng had rushed to the location and even apologized for being late. He said last night he had to go pick up his father from the airport hence being busy. Xiao Die, upon seeing her father, jumped up and called to him. Tian Cheng, like a typical model father, picked her up and swung her around a bit, cheering her up. He asked her if she missed him and she replied yes, even wanting him to bring her home since she didn’t want to live with that Uncle Kwan. Tian Cheng, realizing why Yi Ru was wearing the long face at last, turned to her and questioned her about not straightening it out with the kid yet. She immediately lashed out at him and said that he was probably satisfied now of Xiao Die’s current attitude. After some more words, she stormed off. (Again, the ‘storming off’ trend was definitely the in of recent.)

While those things were going on, Bi Ting was finally done with helping Mrs. Lai clean up. They soon settled down in the living room to rest and chat. Time for some tips from Mrs. Lai to Bi Ting. It was indeed hilarious to see the two getting along so well and her giving Bi Ting so much compliment. When she finally found out the truth, would she still stay calm and give Bi Ting such advice? (LOL) So it was finally agreed that they were both cooking dinner and eating together that night.

Yang Bo Wen, on the other hand, was busy getting his daughter settling into the house. Did he still have room? It seemed like a spacious house so probably he did? It seemed like Yang Bo Wen was serious about taking care of his daughter now so it wasn’t too bad. At least there was a new development for his story instead of the typical ‘old man player’.

Meanwhile, Tian Cheng was seen hanging out with Xiao Die at the playground. He was trying to cheer her up before asking her questions in regard to what happened. Yi Ru was coming back from somewhere but had chosen to hide nearby and listen in to their conversation instead of stepping forward. After learning the details, Tian Cheng quickly persuaded Xiao Die to be a good girl and listen to her mother. He explained to her that he wasn’t a good husband, causing her mother to grief hence it wasn’t a good idea for them to be together or it would be like in the past with them arguing each day. He also promised Xiao Die that he would always come to see her regardless of where her current home was. It was indeed a touching moment for the pair of father and daughter, and a mature moment for Tian Cheng, because even if he didn’t want it to happen, he didn’t want to sabotage Yi Ru anymore if that was what she really wanted. After shedding a few tears for the touching moment, Yi Ru finally stepped out and took Xiao Die home. The difference this time was that she wasn’t so fierce toward Tian Cheng anymore. She even thanked him for talking to Xiao Die yet he shrugged it off as nothing.

Back to Bi Ting and Mrs. Lai, they were indeed getting along quite well. Though Mrs. Lai had declared that she wanted to prepare a meal to treat Bi Ting for her help around the house, Bi Ting ended up cooking. Yet Bi Ting was more than glad, saying that Mrs. Lai did pay for all the supplies. And Mrs. Lai was back to complimenting Bi Ting and how rare it was for a girl like her to be able to help around the house like that, etc. She said it was a shame that Bi Ting already had a boyfriend. If not, she would tell her two sons to go pursue Bi Ting. She had no idea they were currently fighting over Bi Ting at the moment. Well, more like Jun Jie having some grudges against Yu Xiang, but it was somewhat along that line. Again, if Mrs. Lai found out, would she still be able to joke like that? But back to the situation at hand, Mrs. Lai finally confided in Bi Ting with her situation and how she got married, etc. Their conversation was cut short because Jun Jie called in. (Of course, he was calling Bi Ting since, at this point, he wouldn’t care about calling his ‘mother’.) Bi Ting didn’t want to pick it up, fearing that Jun Jie would pester her about the answer again. Yet Mrs. Lai told Bi Ting she should pick up to hear what Jun Jie had to say, not dodging the situation. Bi Ting couldn’t win over Mrs. Lai’s persistence so she picked up, allowing Jun Jie to say whatever he had in mind. Whether Jun Jie deserved this little push or not (aka a helping hand), it was indeed quite cute that Mrs. Lai was acting as Bi Ting’s love advisor.

Brushing aside all of those matters, Yu Xiang was seen on a biking date with Min Ling. He was scolding her for covering up all over yet she said she was fearing that she would turn all ‘black’ if she didn’t cover up. (Um…night time? Okay….they must have ridden till sundown or something so it would make sense with their talk about the sun, etc.)  They actually arrived at that one shop with all the plants again. Min Ling demanded that he gave her a ‘birthday tree’ this time. Yet he said that she was so naive, thinking that those were special since he said ‘birthday trees’ were like “Valentine’s Day”, all made up by those people to create hype and make money. (What a nice way to dodge.) The priceless moment was when the lady boss stepped out to ask about ‘their birthday tree’ and how fast Min Ling’s hair had grown long already, etc. Of course, Min Ling gave Yu Xiang the evil glare. But Yu Xiang tried to dodge out of the whole situation by shutting the lady boss up, saying that she must have remembered wrong, dragging Min Ling away from the scene to avoid any more dramas from unfolding. Min Ling wasn’t dumb since she already detected the ‘tricky’ situation behind it, confronting Yu Xiang. Yu Xiang, of course, was still sticking with the original answer (aka the lady boss had remembered wrong). He told her if Min Ling were to bring up the whole ‘birthday tree’ thing again, he would severe his ties with her before riding off on his bike. She had no choice but to ride on as well, mumbling her protest.

Next morning at breakfast, Yu Jie confronted Yu Xiang about his argument with their father. He said he didn’t want to do that either yet he couldn’t stand it that their father believed in Bi Jing Ye so much rather than believing him. Before they could say anything, Yang Zi walked downstairs with only a shirt that barely covered her legs. Yu Xiang was really pondering about matters, but he wasn’t able to investigate further. Yang Bo Wen came down the stairs at that time and scolded Yang Zi for not putting on proper clothes. She told him she had a tiresome night so couldn’t function properly, etc and that she was just down there to get a glass of water. He scolded her to dress properly before coming back down as she made her way upstairs again. Yu Xiang continued to stare and was putting his own version of the story into place. It was hard to blame Yu Xiang for misunderstanding since Yang Bo Wen’s past girlfriends were quite revealing too. When Yang Bo Wen sat down for breakfast, Yu Xiang and Yu Jie were both staring him down. It was funny how Yang Bo Wen exploded on them and told them the truth since he couldn’t stand Yu Xiang’s pestering and scolding anymore. Yet when the truth was finally revealed that Yang Zi was his daughter (aka their cousin), both weren’t the least bit surprised. Considering his past records with so many women, it was inevitable before he ended up having a bunch of ‘kids’ elsewhere.

Another meeting between Bi Jing Ye and Long Tian Xing revealed that he had paid the crew to toss those boxes down hence leading to the accident. It was indeed suspicious at the time so it made sense. Bi Jing Ye was more than happy to know that the plan was going smoothly. He soon told his son to proceed with the next step of the plan, which was proposing to the Yu Jie and then getting married within a month, etc. Long Tian Xing seemed to have a change of heart about the whole scheme already since he was saying how Yu Jie was actually a kind-hearted girl and he didn’t want to hurt her. Bi Jing Ye went ballistic, reminding his son of all the things that the Lai family had caused him, losing his family, etc. Long Tian Xing didn’t forget what happened but still didn’t want to hurt Yu Jie so badly. He was now stuck, unable to convince his father to back down.  Bi Jing Ye, seeing his son was uncontrollable at this point, gave Long Tian Xing the ultimatum by stating that Long Tian Xing should listen to him and proceed with the plan unless Long Tian Xing didn’t want to acknowledge him as a father anymore. (Nice?)

On the Bi Ting and Jun Jie front, she accompanied him to someplace. (I wasn’t paying attention so actively at this point since I was bored.) Then later when he was talking about his future plans. Or more like their ‘future’ plans, she finally agreed to go with him to Paris. (WHAT?!) He was so happy that he wanted to call his friend yet she told him not yet because she really wanted to stay to prepare for her friend’s wedding. He was so happy and was willing to oblige with her every demand at this point, even hugging her.

Elsewhere, Xiao Die was seen drawing away after her shower and her mother walked in to ask her what she was drawing. She was drawing a gift for her mother. Cute picture.

Back at Happiness Began, Bi Ting was having a headache over the latest obstacle her friend threw her way. At least the supposedly future bride and groom. They both loved dogs very much and wanted to involve the bride’s dog into the wedding and even have someone sing a song. (Um…getting crazy….but whatever floats their boats.) Min Ling asked Bi Ting why didn’t she turn their request down so she didn’t have to deal with the headache-y situation. Bi Ting answered that she and her friend were such good friends so she would want to fulfill her friend’s wishes instead of delivering the ‘rejection’. (Or was she stalling for time? Then she shouldn’t have agreed to go with Jun Jie to Paris.) Min Ling suggested that Bi Ting should seek out Yu Xiang for help since he was able to sing in ‘cat’ language before so he should know ‘dog’ language too. Bi Ting ended up in a laughing fit because she was reminded of a past incident. (Yes, that one time at Xiao Q’s cat’s funeral.) But she told Min Ling she would go look for Yu Xiang to discuss the matter. Yet she was able to detect Min Ling’s unhappy state so she asked for the details. Min Ling told her what happened and even asked if Bi Ting was the one receiving the birthday tree (since she realized Bi Ting also had short hair–and could be the ‘short-haired girl’ that the lady boss was talking about). Yet Bi Ting said it was impossible since Yu Xiang hated her so much, how could he bought her such a gift? She even went further by stating that, “Besides, what is birthday tree anyway? Probably just something made up by the flower shop owner and shouldn’t be taken seriously.” The funniest thing was Yu Xiang said that same thing last night so Min Ling had to ponder why Bi Ting said the same thing as him. Bi Ting said, of course, it was made up, etc and even went on about how it was the same as “Valentine’s Day” (and unknowingly had said the same thing Yu Xiang said again). Min Ling still thought that it was quite romantic if she was given a birthday tree, and how she was feeling like Yu Xiang didn’t like her at all. Bi Ting tried to reassure her before Min Ling headed back to her desk. Yet it made Bi Ting wondered more and more about matters.

Bi Ting finally sought out Yu Xiang to help her with the situation about the ‘dog’ language. Yu Xiang said it would be hard to find and would cost even more. The company couldn’t afford it so Bi Ting said she was willing to pay out of her own pocket. Yu Xiang was more than shocked by Bi Ting’s willing to put out so much for her friend. Bi Ting stated that one of the reasons was indeed to do what was best for her friend and the second was because it was going to be her last case since she had agreed to go to Paris with Jun Jie. Yu Xiang’s expression had changed slightly, but he soon recovered and said he understood. Yet he said that the company could only do so much so she will have to think up of her own solution. She understood that as well and left.

While Chairman Lai was out searching for his wife, Mrs. Lai was only around the corner and had spotted him first. She fled the scene after some spying. Yet unfortunately for them both, he didn’t see her at all or even catch a glimpse whereas Bi Jing Ye had seen her since he was sitting in a car nearby. Bi Jing Ye sought her out as she was going up to her apartment. She invited him in for a cup of tea. (Or water?) So what did Bi Jing Ye do? Badmouthing Chairman Lai and scoring more points with Mrs. Lai of course. (And I forgot to state it earlier but Bi Jing Ye had pursued Mrs. Lai once upon a time when they were younger, way before Chairman Lai came into the picture. So his excuse for the revenge scheme was only part of the power overthrow? And could it possibly be he wanted to get back at Chairman Lai for the lost courtship?) OMG, yup! I paused it to take a guess but it was indeed true that Bi Jing Ye was still harboring feelings for Mrs. Lai and was asking her for a second chance–after she sort of joked about how she should have chosen him instead of that ‘fat’ guy. She, of course, was shocked by how the situation turned and asked if he was joking. He said he wasn’t joking at all. (30 years, wow…) Being the intelligent woman that she was, Mrs. Lai quickly told him that her heart was in a mess at the moment and asked for some more time to think it over. He was more than glad to give her time since he had waited for 30 years already so months didn’t mean much to him. He excused himself and left the apartment at last. Mrs. Lai was more than relief after he left. PHEW…close call indeed.

On a more positive front, the others threw a celebration for Yi Ru and Michael at Sam Brunch. It was a surprise party but still quite lively with the others blessing them both. Even the rest of the Lai family were in on it. Whatever it was with Michael’s schemes or motives, they didn’t care anymore. It was all a matter of being happy for Yi Ru. She was more than happy to have all of their support.

Back at Happiness Began, Yu Xiang was seen in his office enjoying some sort of melody on his computer. Or more like a piece of a certain opera. (It sounded like so, lol.) Min Ling saw his concentrated state and tried to play a prank on him. She was scolded since he hated people covering his eyes with their hands the most. Min Ling quickly apologized and asked him to help Bi Ting with the other matter. He told her to worry about this month’s performance first before poking into other’s business. She exposed him with trying to act cool when Bi Ting was more important to him than that. Yet he brushed it off and said whatever since Bi Ting did help him in the past and how she was going to be with his brother so he could help her a bit. Getting some more teases from Min Ling, he was definitely feeling bummed. He told her to go home since he was going to head home himself. Yet she asked him if he was going to send her home, and he responded with saying she wasn’t a 3 years old kid, why did he have to send her home? He also blurted out about being tired so she should leave.

After some touching speech with his uncle and then somehow a talk with Yi Ru, Tian Cheng wanted to pursue Yi Ru again? What? It seemed like so with his question to Xiao Die.

At Happiness Began again, Bi Ting was seen talking to Min Ling. They were probably on one of their breaks since they weren’t at the desks area anymore. Bi Ting was saying how she would get into contact with Min Ling once she settled in Paris. Yet Min Ling said she wouldn’t want to keep in touch with a heartless person like Bi Ting. That shocked Bi Ting all right but she rushed into explaining how it happened so fast so she couldn’t prepare for it properly, etc. But Min Ling brushed her off and clarified her stand by stating that Bi Ting matched better with Yu Xiang, and was her good sister, why did Bi Ting have to leave with Jun Jie? (Wah, loving Min Ling more and more. She liked Yu Xiang yet wasn’t oblivious to block Bi Ting out.) And the funniest thing was she previously told Bi Ting not to let Jun Jie go since he was a good man. Now? Or was that because she wanted a chance for herself yet she could see how hopeless it was with Yu Xiang not budging? Bi Ting admitted that she was good sisters with Min Ling yet denied the matter regarding Yu Xiang. Min Ling seemed even more depressed after Bi Ting left.

Bi Ting’s friend’s wedding finally took place with the bride and groom all happy–as expected to be for the occasion. Bi Ting stepped forward after the ceremony to congratulate Xiao Xue but to also apologize for not being able to find someone to sing the ‘dog’ language for her. Yet Xiao Xue said she had seen the other person inside previously, and suspected that Bi Ting was trying to give her a surprise. Bi Ting was the person even more surprised at the turn of events. Xiao Xue soon stepped away from Bi Ting’s side, all smile and was waiting for the show while Bi Ting was still standing there displaying her shocked expression. Soon, Yu Xiang walked out in his dog costume to entertain the others. Yet the episode was ending hence the rest of us will have to wait for further developments with the next episode.

Following the previous episode’s cliff hanger, Bi Ting questioned Yu Xiang’s presence after realizing he was like right there, and how long had he been there, etc. He answered three days–and then quickly clarified that he was joking. (Of course, it was way too obvious since they’d just met at the office and all.) Anyway, Yu Xiang placed the spotlight back on Bi Ting, questioning her if she was talking behind his back hence not wanting him to know. Yet she resorted with saying that she wasn’t senseless, and got up to leave after that. Yu Xiang chased after her and blocked her path, asking why she was running away each time she saw him. She denied that and told him to stop giving her a hard time but should pay attention to Min Ling, considering how she (Min Ling) treated him so well yet he kept yelling at her (Min Ling) all the time with his boss attitude. Yu Xiang didn’t back down though, stating that there were lots of girls chasing after him so if he treated them all nicely, wouldn’t he end up tiring himself out? Bi Ting had enough so she said whatever he wanted to do it was his problem and walked off at last. He reminded her that she hadn’t gotten any coffee yet. But she said she didn’t want to drink it anymore. He just had to have the last word because he said but he wanted it. (LOL!)

Back on the Jun Jie front briefly, Jerry (Shu Xin’s father’s friend) finally gave Jun Jie a second chance with listening to his proposal and even complimented him on it. He even disclosed that it was Shu Xin who had persuaded him into letting Jun Jie have a second chance at it. However, Jerry also said that Shu Xin had told him not to tell Jun Jie, but Jerry thought it was only right that Jun Jie knew about it. And indeed, Jun Jie was grateful for Shu Xin’s help, even asking about her well-being. Jerry told Jun Jie that Shu Xin was currently busy with setting up a business with her father’s friend in Singapore. Jun Jie was glad to know that she was doing just fine.

Meanwhile, at Sam Brunch, Tian Cheng showed off to his uncle about his latest progress at the restaurant. When Yang Bo Wen saw the new waitress that Tian Cheng hired, he went into full panic mode. It was indeed that one, crazily, obsessed girl that had sabotaged his chance that one time at his studio. Tian Cheng thought Yang Bo Wen was exaggerating again and told him that he should be glad there was such a young girl after him, etc. Yet Yang Bo Wen wasn’t the least bit amused. He said that he would find out what the girl was up to because he didn’t want to end up like Michael Douglas’ character in Fatal Attraction.

At Happiness Began that night, Bi Ting and Min Ling had completed another day of exhausting calls. Min Ling was indeed quite incredible with her 120 calls in one day record versus Bi Ting’s only 97 calls record for both days. Regardless of what happened, Min Ling still declared that she would ‘advance or withdraw’ along with Yu Xiang if Chairman Gao wasn’t happy with their performance during the next day’s meeting. As Min Ling left to buy some coffee, Bi Ting got up to go search for some documents in a room in the back. It was also then that Jun Jie appeared and surprised Bi Ting of his presence. As she asked him what he was doing there, he closed the door behind him and was ready to bring out his latest surprise for her. Bi Ting was beyond shocked when he told her he was going to give her a house–and went into full panic mode telling him not to since she preferred to buy it with her own hard-earned money. Yet he told her she should wait and see it first before turning him down. Indeed, it was the house model that he made for her previously and had told his ‘pal’ about it. And while Bi Ting was still ‘touched’ by the thoughtful item, Jun Jie went further and went down on his knee, asking if she was willing to go with him to Paris so he could fulfill her wish of going to Paris to study, etc.

Outside in the working area, Yu Xiang came back with Min Ling, asking where Bi Ting was, considering how Min Ling had told him that Bi Ting was working overtime as well. Yu Xiang and Min Ling soon discovered the door to the storage room was slightly ajar. Yu Xiang, thinking that he could give Bi Ting a good scare, launched forward and pushed the door open, calling out Bi Ting’s name loudly. However, Yu Xiang soon realized what he’d done. It was because Yu Xiang’s attempted prank that had caused Jun Jie’s model house to turn into a total mess. To backtrack a bit, when Yu Xiang pushed the door in, the door had slammed into Jun Jie, causing him to fall forward and that had caused the model house to fly out of his hand and crashed. Yet Yu Xiang, upon knowing what he’d done, apologized for it. But that had triggered Jun Jie’s anger even more after realizing the person charging in was Yu Xiang. Of course, he thought Yu Xiang had sabotaged him on purpose.  And though Yu Xiang was apologetic for it, he still kept a strong front, stating that Jun Jie shouldn’t be bothering his employee at such an hour, etc.  Jun Jie, of course, went insane and almost wanted to strangle Yu Xiang–if it wasn’t for the girls getting in the middle and trying to break the fight. That wasn’t a success though since Yu Xiang’s mouth was still running and that had caused him a blow from Jun Jie. (Honestly though, I don’t care at this point. It wasn’t Yu Xiang’s fault. It was really an accident. AND it was his company after all so of course he was there and he thought Bi Ting was in there by herself. It was in the middle of the night after all, who had thought Jun Jie came over? Why should Yu Xiang cave in about the other matter anyhow? Because Jun Jie had chosen to severe his ties with the Lai family first.) And Yu Xiang had it already, he fought back, stating that he was indeed helping Jun Jie and Bi Ting, like how he had bought the tickets for them to go to Paris. Yet Jun Jie was stating like Yu Xiang kept sabotaging him and trying to snatch his girl when Yu Xiang could have any girl he wanted. Oy, getting out of hand but I guess it had to come out after all these times of conflicts. Jun Jie even threw out the ultimatum with wanting Yu Xiang to swear that he had no other intentions with Bi Ting. That had caused a brief exchange of glances between Yu Xiang and Bi Ting. But Yu Xiang soon recovered and asked Jun Jie why he had to swear on it or anything for that matter. Yu Xiang went on to ‘clarify’ things for Jun Jie, stating that Bi Ting was secretly in love with him (Yu Xiang) anyway, and that it was Jun Jie who had pursued her insistently and he (Yu Xiang) hadn’t really responded to her feelings so Bi Ting had no choice but to slowly fall for Jun Jie. (OMG, I love Yu Xiang’s response! Although it wasn’t exactly like that, honestly, Jun Jie lost major time because he kept being ‘wishy-washy’, misleading both girls so it was about time that he got some pressure to work harder.) Bi Ting, of course, couldn’t stay quiet anymore. She had to speak up and told them both off, telling them that they could argue with whatever but don’t bring her into it or taint her reputation with it. Jun Jie wasn’t about to give up since he said he was willing to compete with Yu Xiang for Bi Ting’s heart. Yet Yu Xiang said there was no need since he and Min Ling were already together. (What? Okay, I know that was a move to save Bi Ting’s reputation and it was one thing with getting pissed off at his so-called brother, but he still didn’t want to go too far. But seriously? I would love him with Min Ling too but I rather Bi Ting be with any guy out there than Jun Jie at this point.) Min Ling, of course, was equally shocked by the turn of events. When Min Ling questioned him, he had winked at her, trying to send her a secret message to play along. And it seemed like she didn’t quite get it yet so he had to wrap his arms around her and told her to be brave and tell others about ‘their’ supposed relationship. (Her smile was priceless!) Min Ling was seriously clever. She recovered as quickly and put on a bright smile, telling the others of the ‘good’ news. (Omg, she was so in-sync with Yu Xiang that it was so cute.) And after they left, it seemed like Bi Ting wasn’t too happy about it? Well, she was quite upset when she and Min Ling had to break up the fight between the brothers. Yet she was even more disturbed since learning that Yu Xiang and Min Ling were ‘together’? (Or was that just my own imagination?)

At Sam Brunch, Yu Xiang apologized to Min Ling for using her as a shield to get away. But he also complimented her for her fast reaction and acting skills in order to finish that little skit. She said that she didn’t mind and stated that she really wanted it to be a ‘real’ relationship. Yet he brushed her off and reminded her that she shouldn’t act on her impulse since she should find a more suitable candidate that was closer to her age range, even stating that he was too old for her. She told him that she was already so ‘clear’ on stating her position yet he still pretended to be dumb–and even questioned him if he was like his brother aka also interested in Bi Ting. Of course, he profusely denied it, saying that it was impossible he would like such an ‘unlucky’ girl. Because of Min Ling’s persistence, Yu Xiang was willing to give in and give them both a chance. She was more than glad of this proposal and even walked over, clinging onto his hand happily. (OMG, they were so cute! Look at his face! He was wondering if others would notice, lol.)

Back at Happiness Began, Bi Ting was seen patching up Jun Jie’s model house–or whatever was left of it. She apologized for his effort being wasted, etc. Yet he said it was all right. He moved onto asking her if she was willing to give him a second chance. She got up from her seat and replied that she still have some reports to finish. As cliched as it got, he got up and grabbed a hold of her, planting a kiss on her lips. (I hate this formula the most, thinking it’s so romantic or whatever. NOT blaming Johnny here BUT more like the person who thought of using this plot device in here as well.) Of course, after that brief kiss, Bi Ting seemed to have softened and was willing to give Jun Jie a second chance. Their embrace and the song completed the scene.

So, shifting gears, somewhere in the U.S., a lady was seen reading and her son, Ken, walked in telling her that someone was there to see her. It was none other than Chairman Lai. It was shortly revealed that this lady was the ‘other woman’ in question. (It was explained previously that it was an accident since he got drunk that one time at some celebration event of the company years ago and wasn’t really trying to cheat. He even took whatever responsibility he could to patch things up and even sent both ‘mother and son’ off to the U.S. for the son’s education.)

Still, elsewhere, Mrs. Lai was seen reminiscing back to the first meeting with the ‘other woman’ and how she had used another identity to meet up. It seemed like the other lady wasn’t in the know with the whole schemes happening back in Taiwan. She only wanted to live a peaceful life in the U.S. with her son. At first, she initially thought Chairman Lai wanted his son by his side hence sending over someone to bring Ken back. (We, as the audience, know very well it was Bi Jing Ye who was the hand behind the whole scheme of tearing the Lai family apart, but at least now Mrs. Lai had something to go on regarding that matter.) And what had she chosen? She took her ring off and left the restroom.

Back in Taipei, Yu Xiang was seen sitting next to the ‘tree’ and thinking to himself. This time, it was a reverse situation because Bi Ting was the one walking up behind him and spotted him there. The only saving grace for him was he wasn’t talking to the ‘tree’ like Bi Ting usually would. The typical teasing and exchange of words ensued. Yet it wasn’t that harsh like the last few times. After that though, they continued on their way. It was a big day for them indeed. Or more like him, because he was so sure of getting fired, considering how Chen Guo Long had been gaining some edge with the boss of recent.

Zooming toward the U.S. front again, Chairman Lai had finished dinner with his ‘other’ family and was happy to learn that his son had turned out to be a good kid. He thanked the lady at the door. Yet seriously, something shouldn’t be taken at face front because the lady soon turned insane with saying that Chairman Lai was still his selfish self and that it seemed like her son could never ‘return to his roots’ , implying that they still have to keep their identity a secret, etc. (It seemed like her words of current were contradictory of her previous one with Mrs. Lai.) So was she in on the whole scheme with Bi Jing Ye after all? Or no? Though she had told him that Bi Jing Ye had all the photos and other ‘incriminating’ evidence and that she had nothing to do with it, but at this rate, it was mad confusing to me whether she was truly clear of this mess or not. (Of course, she had every right to be mad after that ‘accident’ but previously showing traces that she was all right with stating there and living a peaceful life and then turning around to scold him for not caring about them? Really?) Regardless of this current situation though, the lady told Chairman Lai to go ask Bi Jing Ye, not interrogate her. Chairman Lai was indeed quite shocked and was thinking the whole situation over. So would he just plain suspect Bi Jing Ye already?

Back at Happiness Began, the inevitable meeting commenced. Chen Guo Long indeed was having one of the biggest moments of his life by humiliating Yu Xiang in front of the employees, especially Chairman Gao. Unfortunately for Chen Guo Long, before he could announce the news of Yu Xiang’s soon to be unemployment status, Chairman Gao stopped him. It wasn’t because the man was changing his mind, he was just wanting to do the deed himself. Yet the unexpected happened once again because Yu Xiang wasn’t fired like everyone had expected, but he was promoted to be the general manager. That was indeed a slap in the face for Chen Guo Long. Yu Xiang was as puzzled as to Chairman Gao’s move. (But of course, it could be guessed that Chairman Gao wasn’t favoring Yu Xiang or anything in that matter, he was just setting up the stage for the upcoming battle between Yu Xiang and his father.)

After the meeting, Min Ling was expressing her shock to the other two, stating that it was indeed quite strange. Yet she didn’t want to ponder too much, telling Bi Ting that she was going to go buy a cake to celebrate. After a few more words exchanged, Min Ling went on her way for real to buy the cake, leaving Bi Ting and Yu Xiang behind for the time being. The whole while the two girls were chatting among themselves, Yu Xiang was deep in thoughts. Bi Ting, of course, was worried since he seemed unusually quiet. After asking what happened, he revealed that he was pondering whether he should quit. Bi Ting, more shocked than ever, asked him why. He had stated that the employees had been saying how he was the son yet didn’t help his father, it looked quite bad for Chairman Lai at this point. Yu Xiang even admitted that, if it was the past him, he would just focus on his own goals but now that his parents weren’t around, he should be the responsible one. Bi Ting was quite impressed with his current mature thinking, so she complimented him. Yet Yu Xiang used that opportunity to tease her about showing interest in him more when she was currently with Jun Jie. She brushed off his lame joke attempt again and walked off in a huff. He yelled after her that he was just kidding and that she was the senseless one, not him.

Back on the Yu Jie front, it seemed like Long Tian Xing was getting more and more unease. It was hard to blame since he was torn between his possible ‘true’ feelings for Yu Jie and his father’s revenge schemes. Coincidentally as it got, one of the details of the script that Yu Jie had to follow was discovering a certain person’s revenge scheme. (What are the odds, right? Or was that put in to make Long Tian Xing realize his unease?)

Another day at Sam Brunch, but not any typical day. Because Yi Ru had some good news to announce. She was getting engaged to Michael Kwan soon. Tian Cheng, upon hearing the news, had somehow injured his finger from a knife lying nearby in the kitchen. It was an accident and because of the crowd gathered, the others didn’t notice. But the new girl had since she was standing right next to him.

Bi Ting was working overtime again for the night. But it wasn’t because of Yu Xiang’s recent battle with Chen Guo Long. She was helping a fellow friend from the old school days prepare for the upcoming wedding. Yu Xiang stepped in and made some jokes about her being neglected by Jun Jie again. She told him to stop jinxing her. But he didn’t keep that in mind, saying that he was going to let her work on wedding-related cases only and won’t force her to work on the projects regarding to ‘funeral’ anymore. She was touched by this move but didn’t say it out loud. Min Ling soon walked in and their conversation was cut short. It wasn’t anything too out of it since she worked there after all. Min Ling soon nagged Yu Xiang to treat her a meal because of all the hard work she’d done. He hadn’t eaten yet so he agreed but also wanted to invite Bi Ting. Min Ling jumped in to say that Bi Ting wasn’t free for the night–to which Bi Ting was also surprised, asking Min Ling about that. However, Jun Jie walked in and apologized to Bi Ting for his unannounced presence–after a little glare down with Yu Xiang. Min Ling once again came to the rescue and told Yu Xiang not to be a ‘light bulb’, but he resorted by saying it was his place after all so the person being a ‘light bulb’ wasn’t him. Still, Min Ling dragged him out of there before anything could happen.

After Yu Xiang and Min Ling were gone, Jun Jie told Bi Ting he had something important to tell her and invited her to dinner so they could discuss further. She said she was busy yet he insisted, stating that it was really important. So they went to dinner at some fancy restaurant. Yet Bi Ting said that she wasn’t too hungry so if he wanted to say something, he better make it fast since she wanted to return to the company to finish the paperwork for her friend’s wedding arrangements. Jun Jie quickly whipped out the tickets for Paris and some information pamphlets to a specific school to show Bi Ting. (He blamed it on Yu Xiang for making him forget the last time.) Anyway, the paperwork also included some living arrangements as well. She quickly thank him for all the information but told him that she hadn’t saved enough for the trip to Paris yet so the whole tuition fees hadn’t been met either. He reassured her it was all right since he thought up of a solution so she didn’t have to worry about the ‘money’ situation anymore. The inevitable proposal came forward.

The proposal was cut short because the scene had shifted gear to Yang Bo Wen’s resident. Yu Xiang was seen on his laptop, typing away while Yu Jie walked by in high spirits. Yu Jie had disclosed that she was in love and received some words of congrats by Yu Xiang. The fun atmosphere of the two teasing each other soon turned into some conversation about Shu Xin and Yu Jie was trashing Bi Ting again so Yu Xiang had to ‘clarify’ things for Yu Jie. (I so hate the whole ‘doing a bunch of stuff for someone that meant the girl/guy have to return to feeling’ so of course, I hated Yu Jie’s rants. Of course, like I said before, it was Jun Jie’s fault for causing Shu Xin and Bi Ting to suffer YET Shu Xin was a smart girl–scheming even–so she was able to look after herself. Yeah, I got it with Yu Jie supporting her friend BUT I couldn’t help being annoyed each time those subjects were brought forward with whoever doing more for the ‘girl/guy’ should get ‘him/her’. Annoying ‘prize claiming’ concept rather than talking about feelings.) But anyway, Yu Jie had Yu Xiang cornered with asking if he had feelings for Bi Ting hence kept coming to Bi Ting’s defense. Yet Yu Xiang wasn’t tongue-tied–almost though, he immediately jumped in to say that he had a girlfriend. Yu Jie’s interrogation was cut short with Yang Bo Wen arriving home with a very drunk Tian Cheng.

The conversation was cut short again once more regarding their investigation into Tian Cheng’s drunk state. This time it was because of Bi Ting calling Yu Xiang. It got me laughing literally when Bi Ting told Yu Xiang that Jun Jie had proposed to her. What? She called to ask him what she should do? NICE…. And the priceless part of the whole matter was how Yu Xiang was all like, “Oh, that’s it? Um…I’m busy right now, we’ll talk about it tomorrow.” Wah! Bi Ting was more than surprised that Yu Xiang had hung up on her. Well, she was probably more upset. How dared he, right? (LOL) But the most worrisome matter after realizing he had hung up on her was why in the world did she tell him about it in the first place, lol.

Bi Ting didn’t have time to gripe over that matter anymore since upon going back to her apartment, she encountered Mrs. Lai trying to find her own apartment. Yes, as interesting as it got, Mrs. Lai had somehow decided to move. (After all, she had left the other house, right? So now she needed a place to stay.) According to Mrs. Lai, she was seeking out Mrs. Liu’s help hence residing at this place as of now. Mrs. Liu was their landlord. Funny thing was Bi Ting was calling Mrs. Lai “Big Sis” instead of ‘madame’ or something. Or perhaps she was used to calling her own mother ‘Big Sis’ as well so this was a habit? After some more side talk, Bi Ting offered to help with transporting Mrs. Lai’s luggage. Before leaving Mrs. Lai’s apartment, Bi Ting told Mrs. Lai whenever she needed help, just call. Mrs. Lai indeed had a good first impression with Bi Ting since she was so helpful and kind. But will her attitude change upon learning about Bi Ting’s relation to both of her sons? At least how it could possibly cause future feuds between the two guys?

The next day at work, Bi Ting was already at her desk as Min Ling walked in. Bi Ting soon confessed to Min Ling that she couldn’t sleep last night hence coming to work early. That was also around the time Yu Xiang walked in to tease her. Min Ling was so happy for Bi Ting upon learning the news that Bi Ting would soon become Mrs. Architect. (Hinting at Jun Jie’s title here.) Before Bi Ting could clarify the matter about last night, Yu Xiang jumped in to warn them that it was ‘working hours’ and even if he was in the ‘know’ about certain things didn’t mean he was willing to gossip with them. He went further by telling them to wait for after working hours to discuss such matters and stomped off to his office. Bi Ting was wondering about his strange behavior yet Min Ling told her not to pay attention and wanted Bi Ting to reveal more juicy details. Bi Ting finally told Min Ling that Jun Jie proposed to her all of a sudden and she hadn’t responded to his proposal yet. Min Ling was shocked and pondered why, and told Bi Ting if she didn’t hurry, someone else would snatch him up. Bi Ting still insisted on thinking it over carefully since it was one of the biggest matters of her life after all. She brushed it off, wanting to get back to her paperwork first. Min Ling, seeing how anxious Bi Ting was, let her off and went to her desk. Her last words being that Bi Ting should think carefully and should remember her warning.

Back on the Yu Jie front, they were finally acting out the scene that the director had mentioned previously–after the director gave some additional information. Long Tian Xing was still against Yu Jie doing the scene but she reassured him that she would be fine. So he had no choice but to step aside and wait–along with the others. It seemed like Long Tian Xing was right after all about precautions because when Yu Jie got pushed into the bookcase–as it was supposed to be with the scene, some of the boxes on top of the bookshelf toppled over and Long Tian Xing jumped in in time to shield Yu Jie away from it–with the main lead having jumped out of the way already to save himself. It was too fast yet no one was sure if it was because someone had carelessly placed the items around or because the main lead had used too much force hence knocking the boxes down from high above.

All of that dramatic sequence had to subside as another dramatic moment was taking place on the Yang Bo Wen front. Or more like his studio. It seemed like Sammy wasn’t able to forget Bo Wen hence coming back to talk to him. Yet they did more than talking. But she soon came to her senses and told him off and that they couldn’t be together. He asked her why and tried to convince her otherwise. It wasn’t until the doorbell rang again that she had a chance to escape. The strange new girl was at the door again. Bo Wen, beyond upset at this point, confronted her and said if she was so interested in him, he would fulfill her wish. Yet she soon yelled out he shouldn’t do that (aka advancing on her) because she was his daughter. Huh? Okay, that was a new one. But not too impossible. It would explain the constant stalking and how she really wanted to get to know him by working at Sam Brunch.

Still another shift in the story. Tian Cheng was seen at the park again, spending another father and daughter day with Xiao Die. Though Yi Ru was also nearby watching them. Soon, Tian Cheng walked over and sat on the bench with Yi Ru, letting Xiao Die play along on the wooden horse. They reminisced about how they first met and their first date was there, etc. Tian Cheng truly wanted her to find her own happiness yet he soon clarified that it had to be a better person than him, not someone like Michael. Of course, they were back at it, but Yi Ru thought he was throwing a tantrum again hence not bothering to explain anymore. He then told her she could do whatever she wanted but she shouldn’t hurt Xiao Die. Yet she was offended (and probably rightly so) since Xiao Die was her daughter as well. After some more words, Yi Ru stormed off, leaving Tian Cheng behind. (It was indeed very hard to blame her, considering his past records–and how Michael was so cunning.)

Back at Yang Bo Wen’s studio, the investigation continued with him asking about her mother, etc. Upon learning of the mother’s name, Yang Bo Wen, so unlike his usual self, turned insane and told the girl to stop lying. Though the young girl tried to explain and convinced, Yang Bo Wen was unmoved. He further told her to stop this nonsense and stop interfering with his life. He also sent some words to her mother before storming off. (The ‘storming off’ trend was definitely in at that moment.)

On a more hilarious note, Bi Ting tried to convince Yu Xiang to go forward in accepting her proposal. Yet she got exposed, even after stating that the couple was willing to go with the whole ‘wedding and funeral’ combined plan. Bi Ting was silently scolding Min Ling for being such a big mouth (and disclosing to Yu Xiang about her fellow friend from school). Yu Xiang was willing to negotiate though, he used Jun Jie’s proposal to Bi Ting as the bargaining chip. (Yes, he told Bi Ting if she was willing to tell him all the details regarding the proposal then he would consider her current project proposal.) She agreed and said that he shouldn’t go back on his words–to which he nodded. (But he was so unpredictable at times that we wouldn’t know, right?) Bi Ting quickly summarized the situation for Yu Xiang. After she was done, Yu Xiang immediately scolded her for the rejection. Yet he retaliated with asking if she was fearing that if Jun Jie knew the truth, things would turn ugly. She even dared to ask what truth? (Hadn’t she learned from his past tactics? Always diverting back to the whole ‘secretly in love with him’ as an answer to everything. And I was right. Sort of since he did say that it was probably because Bi Ting couldn’t let go of him hence turning down Jun Jie.) Not being able to discuss serious matters with Yu Xiang, Bi Ting left after some heated words. Yet Yu Xiang was still able to smile. (Of course, since he was the one doing the teasing.) Wanting to forget the whole situation, Bi Ting invited Min Ling to lunch. Min Ling had to turn her down since she said someone was waiting for Bi Ting. It was none other than Jun Jie.

Bi Ting took Jun Jie to the park to see her tree. Jun Jie asked her if that was Yu Xiang’s birthday gift to her and she nodded. Yet she also clarified that her not responding to his proposal yet had nothing to do with Yu Xiang so he didn’t need to think too much of it. He said that he wasn’t. (It was hard to blame her since he kept pushing that ‘point’ that one time.) Jun Jie’s answer to not worrying about it was because he believed in her and that he believed he wasn’t going to lose to Yu Xiang. (Oh really?) As Jun Jie went on and on about how the Lai family didn’t treat him like a family member, Bi Ting interrupted him by saying that he must have misunderstood since Yu Xiang was really concerned for him. Jun Jie shrugged her off however and said he didn’t want to talk about that anymore. What? I thought he said he wasn’t going to give her pressure and was willing to wait yet the following words contradicted itself. (Oy, I give up on them.)

Back at Sam Brunch, Yang Bo Wen was forced to face his own feelings once again as Tian Cheng ranted on and on about his daughter, Yang Zi. Yang Bo Wen didn’t want to hear it nor answer to Tian Cheng’s questions. Yet when he heard that his daughter was leaving and even cried when she was packing and said that her father didn’t want her anymore, he stopped. Was he starting to believe in her words? Or perhaps he already knew the truth but didn’t want to accept because of what happened in the past. And indeed soon, he was admitting to Tian Cheng that he was using Yang Zi as a punching bag, not considering how she was innocent–regardless of what happened between him and her mother in the past. Wow, I didn’t realize Tian Cheng had it in him to set Yang Bo Wen up like that. Because when Yang Bo Wen said he was willing to make up for what he couldn’t do in the past (considering how all these years he hadn’t taken care of her), Tian Cheng said it wasn’t too late. Soon, Yang Zi was walking out, calling Bo Wen ‘Daddy’.

That night, Jun Jie was talking on the phone with Bi Ting, telling her that he had to discuss some things with Bi Jing Ye. He also mentioned that she should ‘quit her job’ and if Yu Xiang gave her a hard time, he would deal with Yu Xiang. (What? When did that happen? OY, someone stop this madness.) After hanging up, Bi Ting discovered that her project proposal was on her desk again. She opened it up to see that Yu Xiang had already signed it (aka approved the project) and even left a message for her, calling her by her nickname (that he had given to her once upon a time). Another comedic episode rolled itself into happening as Yu Xiang walked in to ask Bi Ting why she wasn’t on a date with Jun Jie yet was there wasting the company’s resources. Bi Ting resorted with asking him why he wasn’t on a date with Min Ling yet was there wasting the company’s resources along with her. He responded by saying that Min Ling was out with her fellow ‘sisters’. Bi Ting, of course, said that Jun Jie was meeting up with Bi Jing Ye. Yu Xiang wasn’t surprised since it was Jun Jie after all. He reminded her to turn off the lights before she left as he was making an exit. However, she called him back. He turned around and scolded her for kept calling him ‘hey’ instead of his name. She invited him to a meal? This was getting interesting. Okay, possibly because she wanted to ease her way into ‘quitting’ somehow. But still, something to look forward to. He, of course, questioned her motives, not just accepting her invitation like that.

Another meeting with Chairman Gao You Da among the new staff to show the results of the past days and proved to him that Yu Xiang’s plan wasn’t just rubbish. However, he had already made up his mind, it didn’t matter if Yu Xiang’s ideas were good or not. Though hectic, but the funniest part was how Gao You Da was disclosing of his intention to sell the place off at a high price and then be done with, Yu Xiang was asking why wasn’t he informed and the former actually apologized before realizing he was the boss and didn’t need to tell Yu Xiang anything. He soon recovered but still a priceless moment.

As fate would have it, Yang Bo Wen managed to discover another secret among all the secrets around town that were waiting to be discovered. He actually managed to run across Guan Shi Cong and pretended to not see the latter at first. (Clever move because what he was about to do suggest that he should take caution and not act too suspicious like he was around to extract information.) What was Guan’s secret? He was actually quite a player and wasn’t any better than Tian Cheng yet he pretended to be all ‘role model’ type in front of others, especially Yi Ru–who he was currently pursuing. OMG, I never liked Yang Bo Wen as much as now. (Actually, despite his perverted moments, I quite liked how he was able to look out for families regardless of the situation.) He pretended not to know Michael Kwan (Guan Shi Cong) at first and forced the latter to help with resurrecting his memory. Michael seriously had no idea what he was in for while Bo Wen pretended to be friendly and recorded their conversation at the same time.

That night, Yu Xiang walked home with Bi Ting. As they stopped in front of her place, he hesitated. (Yup, he has it really bad for Bi Ting since he used to say a lot more than this.) In fact, they both were struggling to find words to fill the atmosphere. Then when they finally spoke up, both spoke at the same time. As cliched as it got, he let her speak first. (But I don’t mind those moments at all since love these two’s cute scenes.) She actually wanted to thank him for walking her home. He opted with apologizing for his over-reaction the other day. He said if she wanted to love anyone or be with anyone, it was none of his business. Yet she returned with, “Of course it has to do with you because you’re my…” Okay, that got interesting. Or shall I say even more interesting? She patched that up with saying how he was her boss so it made sense that she listened to him, etc, quoting one of his mantras. He jumped back to his original theory, asking if she was ‘secretly in love’ with him. She retorted by asking if his narcissism was acting up again. (He was actually right this time since she’d been acting strangely in front of him, not just him.) She ignored him and retrieved her keys from her bag instead. Yet he continued with pestering her about admitting that she was ‘secretly in love’ with him, and he had clumsily knocked her keys out of her hand, causing her to scramble down to retrieve it. But before he could continue with his smart-mouth, he spotted some dude riding a bicycle on the sidewalk hence pulling her out of the way in time. After scolding the dude, he returned his attention to Bi Ting, asking her if she was all right. She checked and said she was fine. He said he was fine too when she asked but he had scratched his hand on the ground when he pulled her aside. So what now? She insisted that he go upstairs with her so she could apply some ointment for him. He protested, claiming they couldn’t do that, what if others see them. She said she wasn’t scared of anything, so why should he be. He returned that one by telling her to be more gentle or she wouldn’t be liked by anyone yet she said he should talk less to be a real man.

As interesting as it was, I remember that this was indeed the second time Yu Xiang got hurt and needed to be tended to by a girl. But this time, he quickly declined after seeing the state of her living room. Or more like the contents on her table. Oh yeah, this was also the second time Bi Ting apply ointment for him but the last time was on his waist (and she wasn’t shy about that). Wow, someone was bossy all right. He said he was better off going home, but she shoved him to sit down and won’t let him go until she was done with applying the ointment. Yu Xiang’s mouth was still running as she applied the ointment for him. It would be too much if his mouth didn’t run. Though he finally stopped and stared. It was hard not to–like there was anything else to do except stare at what she was doing. (Or more like stare at her, lol.) Soon though, they were both staring since she was done with the task. But, of course, they both looked away, finding other things to distract themselves with.

As Yu Xiang cursed the person who bought lunch for them today and rushed for the restroom, promising to get to the bottom of it, Bi Ting received a call from Jun Jie. He was asking her if she was done with overtime, he would come to pick her up. She said no, he didn’t need to since she was already home. Then he asked if she’d eaten yet. (This guy must be going down the list, right? Yeah, it was typical to ask but it was so much fun to see him struggle. Because seriously after all these times Bi Ting was in turmoil, wondering what was really going on, it was about time he suffered a bit. Or more.) As Bi Ting was saying how she’d already eaten and that she was….Yu Xiang had to poke his head out of the bathroom and ask for toilet paper. Busted, I guess. But then again, I couldn’t care less at this point if he misunderstood. Bi Ting was getting really good at this, lol. He was asking if that was Yu Xiang’s voice and she replied with it was the TV’s sound. Busted again, he said that he knew Yu Xiang’s voice AND that her house didn’t have a TV. (Darn, busted major time.) Anyway, Jun Jie was wondering what Yu Xiang was doing at Bi Ting’s house so late at night. OMG, I thought she was busted but she was still moving down her own list, fixing her excuse with it being the computer’s sound, not TV. She rushed to say that her stomach hurt so she can’t talk anymore, and she would just have to call him tomorrow. She hung up on him! OMG! That was crazy but funny.

So about 38 minutes and 46 seconds later, Yu Xiang was out and relief. He was holding a record for using her bathroom that long. Yet he didn’t care at this point. More like he couldn’t anyway. She was done cleaning up her place and even managed to seek out some special medicine for him. He asked what type of special family remedy was that and she was wondering how he’d guessed. He said the ‘smell’ was hard to forget. It didn’t matter how he was trying to quip, he still had to drink it. He tried to pull a fast one on her by diverting her attention from him and switched the pills to his other hand, pretending he’d already drunk it, even downing some water to forgo the scheme. It would be too much if she didn’t see right through it. It was time to open up his other arm so she could check, lol. So funny yet cute that he was so reluctant but still listened to her and drank the pills for real this time.

After he was done with downing the pills for real this time, he questioned her about the call. She rushed to say that it was just the sound of the movie she was watching from her cell phone. He exposed her, revealing that he knew it was Jun Jie and yelled out on purpose. Okay, after another round of ‘thanks for saving my life today’, he launched into another round of suggesting that Bi Ting was in love with him like many times before. Before he left though, he repeated the whole “don’t love him too much” mantra again.

The next morning at home, the others wanted Yu Xiang to go with them to send their father off since he was flying somewhere to search for their mother. Though Yu Xiang seemed like he didn’t want to go at first, he soon rushed to the airport after taking a certain call. OMG, Tian Cheng was seriously so clueless. Yu Jie wanted to cover for both so their father wouldn’t worry yet he exposed her, even quoting what Yu Xiang said regarding their father earlier. Even Yang Bo Wen who was standing at the side couldn’t stand it. Yu Jie quickly rushed to patch things up again. (Indeed, Yu Jie was really maturing after all these tolls of dramas unfolding.) It was a nerve-racking wait yet Yu Xiang finally managed to catch up to them as their father submitted his ticket to one of the flight attendants. Their father was more than happy that Yu Xiang came, one more child came was better than one less, right? He was even happier when Yu Xiang cheered him on, telling him to bring their mother back. Yu Jie was so happy that she hugged Yu Xiang, feeling like she could forgive her brother for his past misdeeds these past days.

Yu Xiang finally caught a break when he went to meet a certain someone at a park. It was one of the employees who said that he was just a spoiled young master. Yet the other guy called him out to say that he indeed admired Yu Xiang’s current hardworking attitude and his firmness on sticking to his principle. Even more so, he got a gift for Yu Xiang, bringing out a flash drive that had proof that Chen Guo Long had stolen the client files (and not Yu Xiang). (Yu Xiang better keep the proofs safe.) Yu Xiang seriously took after his mother. (Well, it was hard to blame Chairman Lai for believing Bi Jing Ye since the dude did work for him all these years.) Because Yu Xiang asked who had disclosed to the company that he had stolen the clients’ records and if it was Gao You Da. Yet the other guy replied that it was Bi Jing Ye. Now Yu Xiang knew where to look.

On the Jun Jie front, he went to the Lai family’s company, thinking that the man was looking for him. Yet he was more than surprised to see the person behind the desk was Bi Jing Ye. Suddenly, Bi Jing Ye was disclosing to Jun Jie that he had a son yet had lost contact. The pieces of the puzzle seemed to fit now. How he was plotting revenge because he claimed he’d lost so much, especially his family, putting in so much effort for this company. And while he was at it, he wedged in some more fuel between Jun Jie and the rest of the Lai family so that Jun Jie would continue to side with him.

Back at Happiness Began, Yu Xiang tossed the flash drive on the table with the intention of confronting Chen Guo Long. (Was he crazy? What if he lost it?) It was around then that Yu Xiang learned another lesson. Gao You Da didn’t care, claiming it was a small matter. And what was worse, he played the wrong card. But was that his intention all along since he was thinking while Gao You Da revealed even more information to him.

Bi Jing Ye was definitely extending his power to the max at the company, wanting to bring it down with whatever manipulation he could. Yet the guy who had informed and handed over important information to Yu Xiang earlier, Si Wei, was now attacked. No surprises, he wanted to eliminate all threats that could thwart his plans. So Si Wei finally quit–after not being able to take it anymore with Bi Jing Ye’s words. It wasn’t about getting mad because of difference in opinion but he didn’t like how Bi Jing Ye was approaching things on the business front, claiming that he didn’t think Chairman Lai would agree with it, etc.

Back on the Tian Cheng and Yang Bo Wen front, Yang Bo Wen managed to extract some more information to help his cause. But it was more like extracting it from Tian Cheng this time. He was pondering why Michael Kwan was so into Yi Ru despite knowing she’d already been married once and even have a daughter. (Not that their uncle didn’t treat Yi Ru like family as well, but he just felt strange, considering how Michael seemed to be exuding the good reputation and could seek out any girl he wanted, etc.) Tian Cheng had listed how Yi Ru, though had had a kid but was still in good shape, not to mention her good family background and education. Yang Bo Wen finally knew why Michael was so into her, he was into her money more. At first, Yang Bo Wen wanted to forget about it since it was none of his business anyway, considering how Yi Ru and Tian Cheng were already divorced. Yet he soon refuted his statements and said that if Xiao Die’s step-father was such a bad person, it would be harsh on Xiao Die thus causing problems for Tian Cheng as well and then finally traveling back to him (Yang Bo Wen) so he must interfere. Tian Cheng, of course, didn’t know what in the world his uncle was mumbling about. He said he had promised someone not to say it out, but he didn’t promise “not” to let someone else listen in (LOL). Clever. So, of course, he took out the audio clip and let Tian Cheng listen for himself.

While Jun Jie’s luck was turning with cases finally coming his way–thanks to Bi Jing Ye’s recommendations, Yu Xiang was on his way in to confront Bi Jing Ye. Bi Jing Ye, not seeing who was coming in but only hearing footsteps (since he was reading some files on his desk) thought it was Jun Jie coming into the office to thank him. Yet Yu Xiang finally spoke up to tease him about his ‘interest’ in sitting in the chairman’s spot, and how he had liked Jun Jie the most, etc. Of course, Bi Jing Ye dodged right out of it, stating that each of them was like his own kid. (Smooth, like Yu Xiang would believe that. He could have in the past but he was too arrogant. Now? He was seeing things from a different perspective. No way was he that naive.)

Just when I thought they were winning, Michael Kwan was definitely a pro. It made sense since the stake was so high with pursuing Yi Ru so how could he let it slip like that? YES, he told Yi Ru it was a group of models he was working with. Now that Tian Cheng brought out the audio file for Yi Ru to listen to, Yi Ru, of course, was upset with what Tian Cheng was doing, thinking that Tian Cheng was trying to frame Michael for it. So Michael approached Yang Bo Wen on purpose to plant his own trap. No wonder he seemed so sloppy. But it was because he was prepared to discredit Yang Bo Wen and Tian Cheng. It was hard to blame Yi Ru though. With Tian Cheng’s past records, he had crushed her heart and it took a while for her to take him seriously again, seeing how hard he was working. Yet now she thought he was pulling such a scheme to win her back. And with the uncle’s record, it was also hard to take him seriously as well. Yet there was one thing that was his restoring point, which I had stated in the past already, he was always looking out for his family.

Big discovery! Bi Jing Ye’s son was actually Long Tian Xing. It explained some scenes in the main theme. But now that it was revealed, some more light was shed into the whole matter. So Bi Jing Ye had planned for his son to meet up with Yu Jie. (I was wrong after all, he was planning to spring all sorts of tricks toward the Lai family, not just the ones involving with the Lai family business.) Well, from Long Tian Xing’s words, it seemed like his father sent him out to teach Yu Jie a lesson? Since he mentioned the “Princess’ Illness” that Yu Jie possessed. Bi Jing Ye was worried his son would fall for Yu Jie for real. So maybe Long Tian Xing wasn’t all bad but got tricked into helping? Well, anything was possible. (Or I’m just deceiving myself since I actually quite like Long Tian Xing’s cool exterior yet sweet person at heart.) Further into the conversation, it seemed that Bi Jing Ye had recruited Long Tian Xing to help him by stating that it was the Lai family’s fault that they were separated all these years. Oooh, something else. Getting more and more complicated and it was not surprising though since Bi Jing Ye had really high aims. He wanted Long Tian Xing to marry Yu Jie so that they could take all of the Lai family’s fortune in case his other plans failed.

Back on the Tian Cheng and Yang Bo Wen front, Yang Bo Wen wanted Tian Cheng to stop Yi Ru and Michael’s progress while he sought out his good friend to help them. Yet Tian Cheng turned him down, stating that didn’t the uncle tell him not to meddle anymore but Yang Bo Wen had said that he didn’t want to see Xiao Die with such a bad step-father. Before anyone could move though, they spotted Yi Ru and Michael hugging outside hence fueling Tian Cheng’s bad moods even more. He ended up bringing out a bucket of water to spray Michael’s car and getting Michael wet as well. Michael, beyond enraged, wanted to get into a fight with Tian Cheng. However, his face turned 180 degrees upon seeing Yi Ru coming back out. He turned on his gentlemanly attitude again. Okay, I now credit Tian Cheng for faking innocence this time around, considering how he’d always seemed to not get it. This time, it was his situation so of course, he was pulling out all the tricks.

Jumping back to Happiness Began, Chen Guo Long was coming over to pass on Gao You Da’s commands. Yu Xiang seemed indifference. Yu Xiang was given two days to complete a certain case or he would be out. And like Yu Xiang cared at this point. Yang Min Ling was really the ever hardworking force behind Yu Xiang because she tried to make as many calls as she could. Will they succeed? It seemed impossible since Bi Jing Ye was fighting them from all sides, using any techniques or persons he had connections with. Bi Ting came in with even more worse news, stating that Chen Guo Long had passed down some notice that other employees were not allowed to help them with this case. So it was all up to them now, all on the same boat. Yu Xiang had stated that the two girls could abandon ship if they didn’t want to suffer with him but Min Ling was determined to help him beat Chen Guo Long, that despicable being. Bi Ting even voiced her support, stating that it was better working for Yu Xiang than Chen Guo Long. That was when Yu Xiang launched into explaining why she shouldn’t compare like that because of all of his so-called good points, etc. OY…what a time to fight, lol. So after Yu Xiang stormed off, Bi Ting was still clueless as to why Yu Xiang had reacted so strongly. (Yup, they had more pressing matters than to be upset over trivial matters like that.) But Min Ling was smiling at Bi Ting’s reaction.

So as the day passed by, Min Ling managed to make sixty calls versus Bi Ting’s fifty calls. Yet both girls weren’t about to give up. They were just taking a break to drink water and cure their dry throats. Okay, then gossip a bit before getting back to work. Yet it was funny how Min Ling was getting onto the subject of Bi Ting’s love life. It was too funny to see Bi Ting’s reaction and her disputes of all signs as Min Ling listed all the nervous signs and other possibilities. Min Ling was indeed so cute, still not shy with her admittance of ‘secretly admiring’ Yu Xiang.

That night, at an undisclosed restaurant, Bi Jing Ye and Gao You Da were celebrating between the two of them–with Gao You Da being more vocal one than the former. Bi Jing Ye was pointing out how the plan just began so their success was still far and they still have more things to do ahead of them.

On the Jun Jie front, Xue Ming was teasing Jun Jie for spending so much time on a certain house model. The teasing soon passed and Jun Jie confided with Xue Ming as to why he was so into Bi Ting, etc. Now he was even dropping the big bomb by stating that he would use this particular model to express his feelings and propose to Bi Ting. Um…Xue Ming wasn’t the only one who wanted to fall down, I was surprised too. Xue Ming, after having been over the shock already, congratulated Jun Jie whole-heartedly and wanted to show support so he asked when. He almost fell again as Jun Jie said that night. And Xue Ming was still supporting him. (In all seriousness though, despite all Jun Jie’s clueless moments and cutting the corner at times, I felt I like his and Xue Ming’s friendship a lot. Though Xue Ming had wronged him in the past, now that the guy redeemed, he was still by Jun Jie’s side when others already left.)

The next day at Happiness Began, Bi Ting came into work to see Min Ling already making calls. After that call, they engaged in a side conversation–with Bi Ting teasing Min Ling about her ‘secretly admiring’ Yu Xiang again. But the conversation soon turned into Min Ling disclosing about how she didn’t get to confess to Yu Xiang at all, but was faced with Yu Xiang’s rants about wanting to find a way to expose Bi Jing Ye’s schemes and digging deeper. Not to mention how he had opened the conversation with wanting Min Ling to look out for Bi Ting and fearing that Bi Ting would be hurt by Jun Jie, causing her (Min Ling) to be a tad jealous of Bi Ting. Bi Ting was really thinking about it as Min Ling told her those words. Yu Xiang soon came into the scene and scolded them for chatting while they should be working. (Or more like they shouldn’t let that Chen Guo Long have a chance to laugh at them.) But just when Bi Ting wanted to go ‘work’, Yu Xiang called her back and made her even more nervous, causing her to make up an excuse to go buy coffee. He didn’t even agree yet she fled already, lol. As Yu Xiang was done mumbling about Bi Ting and walked off–like many times before, Min Ling had detected something since her smile said it all. Had she sprung the trap and watch Bi Ting fidget to test them both?

Bi Ting was forced to once again go to her tree and seek for advice since Xiao Q was still gone. She was definitely losing it, lol. She was admitting that she was having second thoughts. Or at least was so undecided lately, not believing that was happening to her. OMG, that was hilarious! Yu Xiang was right there when Bi Ting looked up again. What was his answer for her? And why was he wandering around when he just scolded her for not working just minutes ago?

Mrs. Lai finally launched an investigation as to what was really going on within the family. Or more specifically, what was really going on with Jun Jie and Yu Xiang’s current plans that had caused her husband to be so furious. The first candidate to ask? Her brother, Yang Bo Wen. (I swear that was more legit than asking someone at the person who didn’t even live with them.) Yet the most hilarious thing was how Yang Bo Wen had no idea what was going on with the two ‘kids’. (But I swore he was right, come on now, he was babysitting?) So after unable to extract information from her ‘useless’ brother, Mrs. Lai stormed off, stating that she was better off relying on herself.

As the next scene came forth, the answer to my question about Yu Xiang’s plan of taking Bi Ting to Paris was answered. No, he was not doing that. He was using Jun Jie’s name to order those tickets and have them delivered to Jun Jie’s company–with the intention of patching things up between Jun Jie and Bi Ting. (I swore that was a shocker. And I’m not ashamed of admitting that I didn’t see it coming. Based on Yu Xiang’s many arrogant and spoiled attitude in the past, it wasn’t too much to assume that he would take aggressive actions.) Yu Xiang’s only downfall was not able to see how Shu Xin had stepped in and claimed she was Bi Ting to accept the tickets on Jun Jie’s behalf. After the delivery man left, Shu Xin was forced to reminisce back about Bi Ting’s biggest dream about going to Paris and pursuing further education. It was only until then that Shu Xin felt shattered and cried out. That was also when Jun Jie came back. A confrontation soon ensued with Shu Xin confessing that she knew about Jun Jie and Bi Ting’s relationship, but she had pretended not to, etc. Yet she had tested Jun Jie first about how she wanted to go back to Singapore to start over–and insisted Jun Jie go with her. Right around the time that he said he didn’t want to give up this company that she snapped, stating that it wasn’t the reason why he wanted to stay. She even told him how she had accepted the plane tickets for him. Jun Jie, of course, had no idea what was going on. (For once and not faking it.) Shu Xin, unable to take it anymore, confessed all her doings in an attempt to break Jun Jie and Bi Ting apart, no longer caring that he knew what she’d done. And omg, for once, I felt so sorry for Shu Xin too. After all that was said and how she had repeated many times that because she loved him, he still asked why she did all those sabotage schemes? Despite all that was said and done, I must agree with Shu Xin that Jun Jie knew both she and Bi Ting liked him, why he kept hesitating, not making a decision? She nailed it with saying that he was using her connections to help with his career; and though she didn’t mind all of those, still hoping one day he would be touched and that he realized she was more suitable for him, BUT he was still keeping things so ambiguous with the both of them. (She seriously should just dump him and find someone else. There would be no drama BUT come on now, even I’m feeling bad for her.) So Shu Xin finally decided to return to Singapore alone, storming off altogether and Jun Jie was left behind, trying to explain still. (I swear it didn’t matter with this time’s plane tickets misunderstanding since he kept dodging and lying to her so it wouldn’t matter if he got misunderstood this time.)

And as Jun Jie finally chased after Shu Xin, she was gone. (God, she was seriously a good runner. But she had some martial arts background so it made sense she was fit.) Jun Jie was actually met with that Bi Jing Ye and Gao You Da out front. (YES, I guessed right again. Those two were really in it together with the schemes.) It was disclosed by Bi Jing Ye to Jun Jie that Gao You Da was the one who was willing to help Jun Jie out with the hard situation he was in at that point. Apparently, Gao You Da was willing to help–on some conditions. (No surprise, he wasn’t going to toss some money down the drain just like that.) Anyway, Bi Jing Ye jumped in to talk about the Lai family’s company and the big ‘pie’ involved (aka all shareholders and its stocks, etc). It was also revealed that Bi Jing Ye had already acquired two of the biggest shares from Charmain Wang and Chairman Yan. (Cue, suspense music around then.) Yes, at this point, Bi Jing Ye was the most influential person because it was up to him if Charmain Lai could still hold that position. Though he soon assured Jun Jie that if he had wanted to be chairman, he wouldn’t wait until now–and that he was planning something bigger than that. So to get to the main point, if Jun Jie wanted Gao You Da to help him with buying out all the ‘bad’ lands that the other clients bailed out on, he must sign a certain piece of document. (Nice and easy, right? Yeah right… But at this point, Jun Jie didn’t have a choice if he wanted to ‘pursue his dream’ and prove to the world he could do it.)

That night, Shu Xin called up Yu Jie to say that she was going back to Singapore the next day and would contact Yu Jie afterward. However, Yu Jie went into one of her ‘Bi Ting being the hateful third party’ rants again. Though super annoying with her not knowing the whole story, it proved that in real life, stories/recounts like these would end up influencing the overall story. And that people often support one side blindly without caring for a full version. (I do understand that’s showing support for friends BUT it’s the other side of making situations worse and slandering others’ reputation just because of a distorted picture of the story.)

So round two was up with Bi Jing Ye’s schemes as Jun Jie probably already signed the document, because Bi Jing Ye rushed into Charmain Lai’s office to tell about an important piece of information. Yup, Jun Jie sold them out. Or more like one of their big cases got passed onto Gao You Da. Chairman Lai, being hot-headed that he was, immediately wanted to open a press conference (or something like that) and severe the connections with his sons. Yet Mrs. Lai interfered and told him to calm down while she tracked out the two ‘kids’ to sort things out. (Good idea, why didn’t anyone think of that one first?)

That night, at home, or more like at Yang Bo Wen’s resident, the fight finally began. Or was that a continuation from last time that they didn’t finish yet? Before that though, Yang Bo Wen had arranged a meeting with Jun Jie and Yu Xiang as they walked in. Even if he had claimed with his sister that he wasn’t their babysitter, but he was part of the family after all, so how could he not investigate the matters, right? So, how did the fight began? It started with Jun Jie saying things that seemed to imply he wasn’t part of the Lai family. Then Yu Xiang finally snapped after being called a hypocrite. (Wow, really? Like Jun Jie was any better in the ‘honesty’ department. In fact, Yu Xiang was more outspoken, even if overly confidence bordering the arrogant side at times.) And despite the fact that they were arguing over who was right or wrong and whether Yu Xiang was plotting to snatch Bi Ting away from Jun Jie or not, they still managed to yell for their uncle not to interfere. Yet what fused the situation, even more, was Yang Bo Wen taking Yu Xiang’s side since Jun Jie’s supposedly “unveiling of Yu Xiang’s schemes” seemed too outrageous, even if Yang Bo Wen had scolded Yu Xiang previously–if the initial part was true. So Yu Xiang finally said what he wanted to say OR more like in the heat of the moment, he said he didn’t want to see Bi Ting together with such a person like Jun Jie. That had ignited Jun Jie’s anger, even more, leading to Yu Xiang receiving the first blow. Yang Bo Wen had reacted too late, but he was soon trying to separate the two. Even if Yang Bo Wen knew Wing Chun, he couldn’t handle two fuming guys at the same time. Yu Jie finally entered the scene and blurted out that it was enough already that he had hurt Shu Xin, now he was hitting his own brother as well. So Jun Jie was definitely feeling inferior to their family (aka Bi Jing Ye had hit the right spot) or whatever, but he finally said that Yu Xiang and Yu Jie were definitely siblings–and that he wouldn’t want to stay in the same house as them anymore. Yu Xiang had yelled out that he didn’t want to stay in the same place with such a hypocrite like Jun Jie anyway, and that he didn’t want to see Jun Jie again. (We’ll see how long that one last.) The conclusion? Yang Bo Wen sucked big time with being the peacemaker. Even if the argument would take place sooner or later anyway, it still showed they were definitely having issues to allow Bi Jing Ye and Gao You Da to manipulate their lives. Yang Bo Wen’s version of the whole fight? They weren’t teaming up to go against their father, they were fighting over a girl. (True to some extent, but it had to do with Bi Jing Ye and Gao You Da’s manipulation as well. Wish they would see that faster though.)

Round 3 began the next day when Yu Xiang opened up a certain package that had pictures of his father carrying a kid, and some related pictures with the same kid. It seemed like an extramarital affair? Even Yu Xiang knew his father was in deep water this time. Meanwhile, Yu Jie met up with Mrs. Lai at the Lai resident to play catch up and how Yu Jie’s career was finally taking off since she was more serious about her work now. The main point was finally discussed because Mrs. Lai went into mentioning about scheduling a meeting with the two brothers to sort things out. Yet Yu Jie said she would talk more next time, claiming work commitments. Mrs. Lai teased her daughter for falling for the leading actor before Yu Jie left. But that wasn’t the earth-shattering moment, because the earth-shattering moment arrived with a special delivery package for Mrs. Lai. She got a similar package as Yu Xiang’s. Before Mrs. Lai could comprehend the whole situation, Jun Jie was seen opening a similar package at his company. Then he was ranting about something like he finally understood. (HUH?) Still, the scene moved to the Lai’s business building, specifically Chairman Lai’s office. Bi Jing Ye had entered and informed Chairman Lai he was done preparing, etc. Chairman Lai soon confronted Bi about how a piece of certain information had been leaked. And Bi Jing Ye soon diverted the whole thing toward Mrs. Lai, claiming she might have been responsible. It was no surprise he was targeting Mrs. Lai since she was too smart for her own good. He had to eliminate her to forgo his plans. But anyway, the paper included in the package was a DNA test. (So it would make sense that Bi Jing Ye said Mrs. Lai might have investigated the matter.) No wonder Bi Jing Ye said he didn’t have to be chairman, it was too fun manipulating the chairman at the moment anyway.

Back at the Lai resident, Mrs. Lai was doing her own investigation with the help of Jin Gang. As Mrs. Lai was preparing to leave and ‘deal with the situation’, Yu Xiang and Yang Bo Wen also had a meetup. It seemed like that Yang Bo Wen also received the package the others had gotten. But as they were on their way, Chairman Lai was seen getting out of a Taxi nearby. Though Yu Xiang had seen to be the calmest upon receiving the package, his reaction when spotting his father had said it all. So their destination was actually the Lai resident since this was the outside view so it was not that easy to spot at first. As Jin Gang drove Mrs. Lai out of there, the other three tried to stop her. Yang Bo Wen attempted to talk Mrs. Lai out of leaving by stating all the irrationality of it all and it was probably a trap, listing all the reasons why that ‘woman’ wouldn’t be someone Chairman Lai would be interested in. Indifference to their pleas, Mrs. Lai told Jin Gang to drive, stating that if he started to drive, they would move out of the way. Well, it was that or she would fire him. Yet Jin Gang stated that his job was to protect people, not harm them so he would rather be fired. Having no choice, Mrs. Lai stepped out of the car and was forced to hear Chairman Lai’s mushy pleas. She asked if he was trying to act out an 8’oclock drama (LOL). Not being able to turn down his wife’s request, Chairman Lai finally stepped out of the way. As it was, Yu Xiang soon followed, calling to his uncle. Yang Bo Wen, not wanting to be isolated, told Chairman Lai goodbye before taking leave as well.

As coincidental as it was, Mrs. Lai was going to the airport. Shu Xin came into the scene and was seen sitting next to Mrs. Lai on the other side of a booth. Shu Xin’s sigh had caught Mrs. Lai’s attention and both parties turned around to spot each other. And they were indeed proving the phrase ‘misery loves company’ true since they were in similar situations, except Shu Xin was leaving an unhappy place to go home while Mrs. was leaving her supposed home.

Soon, Chairman Lai called for a meeting with the rest of the family members. Yang Bo Wen and Yu Xiang came together. As Yang Bo Wen pondered what the meeting was about, Yu Xiang said it probably had to do with Mrs. Lai because there wasn’t anything else that important at this point to call for a meeting. Tian Cheng soon showed up, but still no Yu Jie. Yu Jie showed up several seconds later as Tian Cheng clarified that he had already called her and she should be on her way. Yu Jie was pondering why he knew she was coming and Tian Cheng replied with how Yu Jie’s footsteps were so loud, it would be impossible not to know. The only person not present was actually Jun Jie–though Tian Cheng had already messaged him. Bi Jing Ye appeared at that time, escorting them into the meeting location. They soon found out it wasn’t a meeting with the chairman to find their mother as Yu Xiang had previously guessed. They were actually in a meeting with the board of shareholders. Chairman Lai soon arrived with Jin Gang in toll. So everyone received the ‘helpful information package’, not just the Lai family. Chairman Lai soon launched into explaining to everyone what happened. The side commentaries from Yang Bo Wen and Tian Cheng didn’t help move things forward either. The look from Yu Xiang did shut Yang Bo Wen up though, and Yu Jie had to stop Tian Cheng. (So who was it that just told Yu Xiang to behave out front earlier?) After the explanation and apologizing to everyone, including his kids, Chairman Lai was faced with questions from both Tian Cheng and Yu Xiang. Yet Bi Jing Ye interfered, not allowing Yu Xiang to blurt out what Chairman Lai had supposedly done in an attempt to ‘mold them into better persons’, because those weren’t even what Chairman Lai had in mind. Of course, Bi Jing Ye would be nuts not to stop Yu Xiang from bringing some details into light, explaining clearly more why he and Jun Jie were in the current state, even seeking out the enemies for help. Bi Jing Ye, being sinister that he was, cleverly used himself as a gamble, stating that he was the one who’d issued all orders so it had nothing to do with the chairman. Yet Chairman Lai fell right into his trap, stating that Bi Jing Ye was only doing what he was told, and even stating he knew everything about the ‘plans’. (Really? It was harder and harder to believe that he had managed such a successful business all these years.) When Yu Xiang wanted to explain that he didn’t steal the ‘client list’, Yang Bo Wen had stopped him. (Though Yang Bo Wen’s intention was to get Yu Xiang to calm down so things wouldn’t turn into a much worse situation, not like Bi Jing Ye’s agenda.) And the final statement from the chairman: handing all powers to Bi Jing Ye. (Did anyone see that coming? Yeah, sarcasm here. People must be nuts to think that Bi Jing Ye wasn’t after power.)

Back at Yang Bo Wen’s house, they all came back with much-troubled faces. Yet Jun Jie was seen indifference, claiming he was moving out. While Yang Bo Wen interrogated Jun Jie, Yu Xiang–in his worst mood–had his own interpretation of matters. Yu Xiang soon blurted out that Jun Jie didn’t even care that he had hurt two people who loved him dearly, so how could he care about their parents’ well-being. And Tian Cheng was still able to take a jab at their uncle during such a time? (He was asking why Jun Jie was taking after their uncle’s bad habits, lol.) Things escalated as Yu Jie blurted out that the others should just let Jun Jie leave, and that she didn’t want to be his sister if he didn’t care for them. Yu Xiang added more oil to the blazing fire by stating that he didn’t want to be associated with someone so cold-blooded, so selfish, etc. Jun Jie finally left after having the last word. Yu Jie soon followed but it wasn’t because of some unreasonable, stubbornness moment. She actually wanted to seek their father out to accompany him while their mother wasn’t around. Yang Bo Wen for once looked proud at one of the ‘kids’ for a mature moment.

Meanwhile, on the Bi Ting front, Jun Jie came to her company to seek her out, wanting to chat. As Jun Jie tried to explain, Bi Ting brushed him off, stating that it had already passed and it wasn’t important anyway. She soon clarified that she had been thinking these past days and accepted that they were two people from two different worlds. Jun Jie thought that she was still mad hence the ‘cool’ talk, but she stated that he shouldn’t ‘force’ himself into doing these things. Yet he stated she wasn’t forcing him. Then he got right to the point, asking if it was because of Yu Xiang. She clarified that she and Yu Xiang were just co-workers and friends, nothing more. He then said if it was so, then give him a chance to explain before she decided. As they were walking out of the place, Yu Xiang and Min Ling were seen walking together. Min Ling soon spotted Bi Ting and Jun Jie hence calling Yu Xiang’s attention to them. Correction, it seemed like Jun Jie was still chasing Bi Ting down in an attempt for a chance to talk while Min Ling was still trying to figure out who the other guy was. Yu Xiang (of course knew who it was) blurted out that Bi Ting was right in ignoring him (the guy)–and that Min Ling should take note. (LOL) Yet Min Ling had pointed out that they seemed so happy together thus causing Yu Xiang’s good moods to turn 180 degrees. Min Ling directed her attention to Yu Xiang again, realizing he looked terrible and questioned him. He claimed he indeed was feeling uneasy, and she then teased him about his jealousy. He sure was getting riled up. Was this leading to some future sabotage scene? At this rate, I welcome it whole-heartedly since I’m like not caring about Jun Jie’s happiness anymore. (It was his fault for hurting both girls. It was their choice to like him, but his fault for kept playing the ‘ambiguous’ card. And all the crap with his career could only go so far as an excuse for his behavior.)

At a fancy restaurant, Jun Jie was asking Bi Ting’s opinion of the place. She said he didn’t have to bring her there since the place wasn’t as important as the person she was with. Yet he claimed it was a compensation for her birthday celebration. (Okay, his explanation with Shu Xin kissing him first didn’t slide with me. At least from an audience’s point of view so can’t blame Bi Ting. But like seriously? He had promised to kiss her. It was an attempt to send her off but still a tactic that he was willing to pull.) When Bi Ting said that she believed him but that misunderstanding had changed their relationship, etc. Jun Jie jumped in to say that he had already explained to Shu Xin clearly. (Again, really? Shu Xin had to do all the ‘outburst’ herself and told him in the face that she was leaving, he didn’t say anything in that nature.) Again, the story perspective matters major time. From Jun Jie’s point of view, he was the hero; from Yu Jie’s point of view, Bi Ting was the witch that hurt her friend; and Bi Ting and Shu Xin both lost–regardless. After a silent moment, Jun Jie asked Bi Ting for another chance. While it seemed like Bi Ting wanted to cave in, she soon withdrew her hand from Jun Jie’s–at least tried to. She outright told him (again) that their problem didn’t lie with Shu Xin. She indeed nailed it again (like how Shu Xin said those things to Jun Jie when she confronted him). Bi Ting finally said it–after some hesitation–that their problem had to do with him. He recovered quickly and told Bi Ting that he knew it was his fault for not making the decision hence causing her pain yet he promised to never let it happen again. Bi Ting had to ‘clarify’ things even more by saying that his career was always #1 and that she would have to take a second seat. It didn’t matter if Shu Xin already left, there would be another one down the road. He needed a person who could advance his career, not her. As he was letting things sink in, Bi Ting finally succeeded in withdrawing her hand from his. Jun Jie was really a master of his game (more than some people would give him credit for it) since he soon told Bi Ting that his sole purpose of working so hard was so he could prove that he wasn’t a young master but could rely on himself and could have his own world (aka wanting to be able to provide and protect the person he loved). Then he asked Bi Ting for another chance, grabbing onto her hand again. She was indeed wavering and said she didn’t know since he never told her those things before. So now Jun Jie was really playing the ‘third party’ card. (Really? I don’t know why I’m surprised.) He was asking her if it was Yu Xiang. She didn’t answer him yet asked why he kept driving that point. They were definitely playing ping pong here since he didn’t answer either but asked why she didn’t promise (to give him another chance). (NICE….so he couldn’t take it that other people have choices too to choose him or not yet it was all right that he chose?) Bi Ting politely said that she wanted to think it over since a lot of things had happened recently. She asked him to give her a little more time. Of course, he was willing to wait.

So Bi Ting, instead of thinking things on her own, went to the park the next morning and talked to her tree instead. Yu Xiang soon walked up to her and scolded her for talking to a tree. Eh…wait, who was the one who gave her that tree anyway? Why did he have to be so mean? (LOL) And like she wanted to talk to the tree, Xiao Q wasn’t around. (“We’re not acting in an idol drama.” <- He said that with a straight face? LOL!) Anyway, before they knew it, they were arguing over the name of the tree. How random but not so out of characters since it wouldn’t be them if they didn’t argue over things like that. How did the whole confronting him with eavesdropping turned into the name of the tree? OMG, he was feeling bad for the tree to have to deal with Bi Ting’s problems? (LOL) Oy, it was getting too personal. Well, he called her stupid first. Okay, she stormed off after blurting out some random reason why anyone was better than Ji Che Nan (機車男) for that matter.

As Jun Jie finally signed his soul away to Gao You Da, Chen Guo Long was seen walking into the company, ordering Bi Ting to make tea while he headed to Yu Xiang’s office for round 2 of their showdown. Chen Guo Long was definitely enjoying himself as he tried to pick on Yu Xiang and his ‘hare brain’ ideas. Before Yu Xiang could do a counter-attack, Bi Ting knocked on the door and brought in Chen Guo Long’s tea. She accidentally on purpose tripped and spilled the tea on Chen Guo Long thus causing the latter to rush out screaming. And before they knew it, Bi Ting and Yu Xiang were slapping each other high fives. They were a team all right. And the awkwardness didn’t settle in until after the high five. Outside, Bi Ting finally felt that ‘special’ heartbeat that she confided to her tree earlier. It was definitely scaring her that it was because of Yu Xiang.

On the Jun Jie front, he was moving into a new place yet it seemed like not really since there was a family photo of the Lai family once upon a time. And the phone call from Bi Jing Ye confirmed so since Jun Jie wished to find a place of his own in the future. After that call, Jun Jie called up Bi Ting to chat. Bi Ting was having her strange expression on, like she was testing herself? Anyway, Jun Jie was asking her if she was free that day and she said she had to work overtime. (How did he like to be on the receiving end, right?) And what did he do? He asked if Yu Xiang was nearby. (What? Well, okay, he was but it was because he was sneaking up on her again, NOT because he was the influence for her decision. Okay, that was partially it but he didn’t directly tell her to stay behind, etc.) Nice comeback. Min Ling was really funny too since she was as sneaky as her boss, not letting in that she was also spying on Bi Ting. The priceless look on Bi Ting’s face when she realized that both Yu Xiang and Min Ling had been listening in.

Back at the Lai resident, Yang Bo Wen was being bullied by his brother-in-law. Chairman Lai, surprisingly, wasn’t asking about if Yang Bo Wen knew of Mrs. Lai’s whereabouts. He was interrogating Yang Bo Wen if the latter had leaked out the information. And what? Yang Bo Wen also had a secret? What about that needed to be concealed? And they were back to Yang Bo Wen comforting him and telling him not to cry. It was indeed pitiful seeing Chairman Lai like that. Yet Yang Bo Wen indeed was smart like his sister. He was questioning the chairman if he had told anyone else aside from Yang Bo Wen and Bi Jing Ye of the secret. And then he managed to narrow it down to other ‘woman’ blurting it out to her son and then the son might have accidentally blurted it out somewhere else hence his enemies know and catastrophe unleash. Not a bad theory. After Yang Bo Wen was done playing the blame game, he was confronted by the chairman as of his sister’s whereabouts. It was about time. And Yang Bo Wen managed to narrow it down as to where his sister would be, considering how he wasn’t in contact with her. So the guessing game began, but was he on the right track?

The team of three–Yu Xiang, Bi Ting, and Min Ling–finally found the light at the other end of the tunnel because they were celebrating after a client left their place. Yu Xiang was so excited that he wanted to go out and celebrate. It was worth it since they’d been working hard and tried to improvise their plans. For once, Yu Xiang wasn’t all talks, really researching it out. And the girls, no need to say it, they were hardworking from the start. It was up to Yu Xiang to understand the situation. Just when Yu Xiang was at his highest peak, Bi Ting had to spoil it by turning his invitation down. She did tell them to have fun with their celebration. Min Ling was more than glad to go out with her boss. But Yu Xiang seemed oblivious to her reaction at that point, pondering what was really going on. He even requested that Min Ling removed her hands from his when she hooked it into his, claiming that it was just a ‘date’ with the two of them.

The answer to Yu Xiang’s question with what was the big deal with not going with them to celebrate since he was sure his brother had been busy lately (obviously from the latest trap that despicable Bi Shu rolled out) was because she wanted to celebrate her birthday with Jun Jie, if only just a simple dinner together. Their dinner date was sabotaged by Shu Xin again. Whether she heard who was on the other side or realized it or not, but the situation at hand for Jun Jie was to do anything to savor his career at the moment. And yes, Shu Xin did hear Jun Jie making the date with Bi Ting hence saying that her father was only available for that day and won’t be back until next month. She listened in outside when she was supposedly ‘making the call’ to her father and Jun Jie was calling Bi Ting back to delay their meeting. Jun Jie had no choice but to lie when Bi Ting asked him if Shu Xin would be present, he told her it was a business meeting and that Xue Ming would be with him while Shu Xin was having dinner with her father. Well, he wasn’t really lying, right? It was really about business (his career was on the line) and Xue Ming’s last name was also Wu, so it was on a slight manipulation of the situation. No one gets hurt, right? (YEAH RIGHT…yup, I’m definitely mocking. I totally get the sticky situation he’s in right now. But he’s on his own for planning to use Shu Xin’s connections to advance his career in the first place, even before that Bi Shu dude sprung the trap.)

Jun Jie’s delay brought forth some new opportunities for Yu Xiang since their little celebration was back on again. OMG, he had to use his ‘boss’ power to get her to come along? (No surprise since it’s Yu Xiang. Yet he really has it bad for Bi Ting now.) But on a serious note though, was Yu Xiang using this ‘success’ celebration excuse for Bi Ting’s birthday? Because he knew she wouldn’t want to spend it alone. And he did something else that made it feel like he was playing ‘Cupid’ because he wanted Jun Jie to go to Sam Brunch for a meeting because their parents were launching a new tactic. (I’m guessing at this point it was an excuse to get Jun Jie there to celebrate with Bi Ting.)

That night at Sam Brunch, Min Ling and Bi Ting seemed to get along really, really well while Yu Xiang seemed to be on the out–though he was sitting between them. It seemed that he had become invisible while they shared their past memories of Yu Xiang and his misdeeds. Yet the typical Yu Xiang managed to steer the situation around completely, causing Bi Ting needing to rush and explain to Min Ling that she wasn’t in love with Yu Xiang (whether in the past or now) and that Min Ling could go ahead and pursue Yu Xiang, even cheering Min Ling on. Yu Xiang once again was becoming invisible (or ‘dead person’ as he put it). So he was forced to grab onto Bi Ting’s ear to teach her a lesson for upstaging him. Surprisingly, Bi Ting didn’t let that one go and even returned the favor by pulling on Yu Xiang’s ear, possibly harder than he pulled hers–as Min Ling witnessed it with a smile on her face, enjoying their little fight. Yu Xiang was seriously in for good because he was forced to apologize to her while taking in all the pain. (He was really falling for Bi Ting because past records showed that he wouldn’t let her do that. All those cruel times he caused her to walk home bare feet and all, and the petty bicker after some mishaps he encountered.) Indeed the group of three were hanging out like friends now, not having barriers of being employees or just trying to get along.

Their ear tugging moment was interrupted by Min Ling because she had noticed someone stepping out of a Taxi hence informing Yu Xiang and Bi Ting of it. Indeed, it was Jun Jie showing up for the meeting, but stepping out of the Taxi was also a very drunk Shu Xin trying to drag him back. (We all know her past record of being drunk, right? So it was just another scheme, but I don’t feel sorry for Jun Jie at this point, he’d gone way past that. He’d triggered Shu Xin’s actions like how he’d strung her along all these times.) So as it were, Jun Jie got on the phone immediately after sending Shu Xin away with a passionate kiss, Bi Ting was already by the door inside Sam Brunch witnessing the scene. (In actuality it was Shu Xin grabbing him and kissing him–though he had agreed to give her a goodbye kiss. But from where Bi Ting was standing, it looked different.)

In retrospect, it seemed like Yu Xiang had set Jun Jie up for failure when he told Jun Jie to show up here. (If anyone was going there.) But Yu Xiang had specified (using an excuse with their family matter) that Jun Jie shouldn’t bring anyone along. So Yu Xiang was actually trying to play ‘Cupid’ yet failed majorly this time. Even if Yu Xiang didn’t interfere, Jun Jie still wanted to make it in time for Bi Ting’s birthday celebration so he would eventually end up in this obstacle anyway because Shu Xin insisted on coming with him regardless?

Back to the situation at hand, Jun Jie–of course–rushed over to the corner where Bi Ting was standing and attempted to explain. Yet his chance didn’t come, he got a slap instead. She wasn’t mad at him for going with Shu Xin, but she was upset that he’d lied to her earlier. As the slap went through, Yu Xiang and Min Ling could only stare in bewilderment by the counter. Yet by the time the atmosphere intensified, Yu Xiang was already up and by the door, ready to jump in. But he didn’t. He was still standing there numbed, watching Bi Ting fighting to get away from Jun Jie on her own. But Yu Xiang soon unfroze from his place after Bi Ting ran out, telling Jun Jie to go home since Bi Ting was too upset at the moment to talk. As Yu Xiang volunteered to run after Bi Ting, Min Ling walked up to ask who was going to cover the bill if the other two were already gone. Jun Jie quickly snatched up the bill, relieving Min Ling of the burden. (And I silently ponder if Min Ling did it on purpose to sabotage Jun Jie since she did witness the same scene as them, seeing how Shu Xin and Jun Jie were kissing and wanting to get back at Jun Jie for Bi Ting. Because honestly, it was too strange that she couldn’t cover their bill.)

Outside, Yu Xiang finally caught up to Bi Ting as she got into a Taxi. He acted like nothing was going on and even insisted on going with her. (Though he had said they were going the same way.) As they arrived, she got out first and rushed to the convenient store nearby to stock up on some beer. What I clap the writers at this time was how he interfered immediately and snatched the beer away from her, putting it all back. He tossed the basket loosely back into its place and grabbed her hand to go. Instead of allowing her to soak in beer, he took her to the bridge across the street to cool down. (I know those things happen with people getting really drunk when they’re upset or sad or whatever, but I hate the repeated formula in almost every drama with insisting on using alcohol to solve everything. I like it that it gave Yu Xiang enough sense to stop her, providing another alternative for her to vent instead of the typical getting drunk with her–like some dramas would insist on using. Even if nothing happened between them during the ‘drunk stage’, they would somehow end up appreciating each other for the ‘companionship’ previously. But this one veered from that route and I give them major bravo on that.)

On the bridge, Bi Ting finally broke down and cried. Yu Xiang, instead of comforting her with the usual words others would do, ended up wishing her ‘happy birthday’ instead. She was surprised that he knew it was her birthday. He said if not, why would he insisted on going to the celebration dinner tonight. Yet he backpaddled into saying that it was convenient that she was really improving at work hence the double celebration. It was hard to blame Bi Ting for being so touched since even her mother had forgotten yet he remembered. (And in case anyone wondered why he knew, aside from possibly eavesdropping in on the phone conversation, but it wasn’t so in this case because he had expressed the idea of wanting to go celebrate earlier than that. The real reason how he found out was simple, he was the boss, after all, pulling her file was a piece of cake.) Seeing that Bi Ting couldn’t stop crying, he finally patted her on the shoulder and even pulled her a little closer in a more comforting manner. It wasn’t so off course or so uncalled for, because it was just a normal comforting pat, not just taking advantage of the situation.

Meanwhile, at Sam Brunch, Jun Jie was drinking away his sorrows as Yu Jie and Long Tian Xing walked in. (Okay, I don’t mind that he was drinking or whatever because it soon explained from Yu Jie’s words that he wouldn’t go that route yet it tried to display the serious situation he was in, instead of just projecting how he was just randomly drinking like any guy out there. NOT saying like Bi Ting was the drinking type when I didn’t like where it was going earlier and glad it stopped, but it was more like I didn’t want it to go the typical drunk route with Yu Xiang and Bi Ting.) Not getting much out of Jun Jie since he was already drunk off his rocker anyway, Yu Jie turned to Sam for an explanation. The conversation soon turned into Yu Jie and Long Tian Xing.

Back to the Yu Xiang and Bi Ting front, she finally calmed down, obviously. He took her to that one flower shop that he went by on his bike days before (and had run into Min Ling). She was asking the reason for taking her there and he replied that he wanted to give her a birthday present. Though trying to be nice, he couldn’t quit being a smart-mouth anyway. Of course, he would try to make light of the situation, not wanting her to get any ideas. (In a way, he was saying how he wouldn’t take advantage of the situation to jump in just like that. It was clear that he tried to dodge out of it when she was so touched with him remembering her birthday but he had said it was convenient to celebrate both success and birthday at the same time.) Yet was Bi Ting getting ideas already? Because after the lady boss of the flower shop suggested that they should find a park to plant the small tree down and come back to look at it each year, her smile was so sweet after he said ‘happy birthday’ again. (Or I’m just jumping to conclusions. She could just be touched that he remembered her birthday and there was someone who was supporting her at the moment, trying to cheer her up, especially the mean Lai Yu Xiang who only knew how to make her life even more miserable in the past.)

Chairman Lai and his wife were finally back from vacation. Just in time to receive some bad news too. Of course it was the manipulative version since that Bi Jing Ye dude was hiding the story from both sides and trying to sabotage them more and more, driving the rip. But he couldn’t be blamed for all of it because it was their fault for playing this game in the first place hence letting outsiders having a chance to manipulate them one by one.

While Chairman Lai had some ‘business’ to take care of, Yang Bo Wen also had some ‘business’ to deal with on his side. At his studio, Yi Ru finally came to visit for the first time. Though it was because she wanted to make sure it went all right with her friend–and that Bo Wen wasn’t up to something. Yet it was one of those few rare times that Uncle Bo Wen had relevant things to say. He was right that Yi Ru still had feelings for Tian Cheng yet it wasn’t her fault that he didn’t know to treasure her when she was around.

As expected, Yu Xiang and Bi Ting carried out their plan of planting the birthday gift that Yu Xiang gave her the previous night at a park nearby. It was indeed a very good day for such an activity. Somehow, their hands came into contact when they were trying to place the dirt around the little tree. Hey, they held hands numerous times in the past already yet wasn’t feeling awkward. But now? Bi Ting withdrew her hand first but still, that was sort of funny. Perhaps because they weren’t really thinking in the past when he teased her or grabbed onto her hand just to get her out of a sticky situation or whatever?

As interesting as it got, Jun Jie was somehow in the area and spotted the two sitting together after planting the tree down, just resting. He was definitely suspicious of the two. Yet what did he have to say for himself? Anyway, it was so cute that Bi Ting was able to tease Yu Xiang now and he was the one being nervous, lol. The table got turned. Okay, it finally got to the part where Yu Xiang got confronted with how he knew about her birthday. Yup, he got it through the files. Oh geez, their ongoing questions, lol. He answered her question with a question? Nice. But that was cute, cornering her like that, forcing her to come up with some answer to wing it through. She told him not to call her “Dao Mei Nv” (倒楣女) anymore since they haven’t encountered such bad luck recently when with one another. He had a great comeback though, lol. He was chiding her for being so fierce to him yet so gentle to Jun Jie? LOL! He was so dead with her. Honestly, a new start to their friendship and he dared to tease her? He went further by asking about her situation with Jun Jie, but she told him off. Ironically though, she soon confided in him of the situation (aka Jun Jie still hadn’t called her so she wasn’t going to call him either). Yu Xiang concluded that they were going to go on their ‘cold war’ again, but Bi Ting clarified that she was going to forget it. After all, like she said, Jun Jie needed someone who could further advance his career, not someone like her. (OMG, not sure what would happen in the future and if anyone could keep their words, but at this point, like Bi Ting even more because she said she wouldn’t want Jun Jie to give up his career for her and wouldn’t want to give up her own self-pride because of Jun Jie. A simple phrase, but I swore other female leads would keep going with naive thoughts and continue until it couldn’t get any worse, but Bi Ting acknowledged these real-life situations head-on.) A good question from Yu Xiang was: “Could you really let go?” She retorted with: “Aren’t you the one living with him? Why aren’t you asking him these questions yet you’re asking me?” (LOL) Of course, Yu Xiang couldn’t admit defeat, he said because he was living with Jun Jie, the more he shouldn’t ask. They diverted the subject of conversation to the weather and ended up enjoying the scene instead.

Yet while Yu Xiang and Bi Ting were enjoying the good weather, Jun Jie was forced to reminisce about a past conversation with Yu Xiang, asking him what he would give the person he liked. What Yu Xiang said at that time: “If it was me, I would give her a gift that would cause her to think of me for the entire lifetime. Birthday Tree (生日樹).” Yu Xiang’s following words were equally memorable with how he not only wanted to be remembered each year when her birthday came around but also to take her wherever she wanted to go–regardless of the distance. (I think I remember this conversation yet at that time, I was so annoyed with his whole finding the ‘perfect woman’ that I didn’t care to take it into heart. Those words indeed rang true and proved that he was really a man of his words, actually carrying out those things he said he would–even if Bi Ting doesn’t know about it presently.) Anyway, that particular conversation proved of Yu Xiang’s current action that he really cared for Bi Ting, and that little trivial matter with seeing Bi Ting with the ‘birthday tree’ had riled up Jun Jie’s state of mind even more.

Back on Chairman Lai’s front, omg, yup, I guessed right again. The whole thing with Yu Xiang getting kicked out of places after places were weaved by the manipulator Bi Jing Ye. He ended up blaming it on ‘misunderstanding’ hence Yu Xiang having no other place to go so he ended up at Gao You Da’s company. And I seriously do not know how they established this empire, because Bi Jing Ye was definitely doing everything here and Chairman Lai still thanked him? Or was it because of his constant trips and how he decided to kick back after all these years of hard work that allowed for Bi Jing Ye to conjure up his own plans?

So while her husband was at the company taking care of matters, Mrs. Lai went to Sam Brunch to visit Xiao Die and gave her some gifts. She attempted to persuade Yi Ru in returning to Tian Cheng’s side yet she was disappointed upon learning Yi Ru was seeing someone else at the moment. She gave them her blessing yet was saddened that she had lost a good daughter in law. Even Xiao Die was getting along quite well with the other dude so it was hard to blame Mrs. Lai for feeling unwilling to part with the other two.

Back to Bi Ting, Min Ling was wondering why Yu Xiang hadn’t accompanied them to see the clients after he went out with Bi Ting to plant that tree at the park. Bi Ting was saying how it was good that he didn’t join them to talk to the clients or he would end up causing trouble again. Yet Min Ling’s investigation into the previous night sent Bi Ting into a round of nervousness and trying to fend off her questions. Luckily, Yu Xiang called Min Ling to come in and help him with some preparations because Chairman Gao was coming over later to check on them. So Bi Ting was saved by Yu Xiang once again. (PHEW!)

Things turned even worse and worse for Jun Jie as he and Shu Xin got scolded by one of their partners. If only they hadn’t launched into the whole situation so eagerly, the current state wouldn’t be as bad. Well, couldn’t really blame Jun Jie since he really trusted Bi Jing Ye. Even his father got conned, so how could he be any wiser? Now that their partner had stormed out on them as well, threatening to sue if she didn’t get her money back, Shu Xin was left to pick up the pieces of Jun Jie’s hopelessness. Her comfort at this moment was what he needed the most, right? Was Jun Jie having a change of heart at last? He finally realized how good Shu Xin was treating him and wanted to reproach her feelings? Or was he trying to hang on to her so she could help him escape out of this situation? Or was he still mad upon witnessing Yu Xiang and Bi Ting spending time together that he wanted to shift gears?

Yu Xiang’s meeting with Chairman Gao wasn’t as successful as he had thought initially. The man was impatient and needed results right away. So telling him three months didn’t work. Like he said, he didn’t even want to wait for a month, how could he wait for three months to see Yu Xiang’s plan come into fruition? And what? He wanted to snatch all the clients from Yu Xiang’s father’s company? Of course, Yu Xiang didn’t agree. It didn’t matter if it was his father or not, it was still a past company he worked for. Using the tactic with driving him insane and turning him against his father won’t work. Okay, if that Bi Jing Ye said it, he would actually believe it, but this guy? He actually knew this guy was really competing with his father, so would he take this man’s words seriously? And what? This guy has proof to convince Yu Xiang? (Now I have a wild theory that this dude’s actually working with Bi Jing Ye and BJY was just staying in the background doing silent stabbing to break the other company apart for the moment before joining with this Gao dude.)

While that was going on, Shu Xin was seeking out her father’s friend, Jerry, to help with the situation she and Jun Jie was in. Indeed, it was hard to stick around regarding business. But the man had promised to do what he could. As Shu Xin was convincing and apologizing to Jerry about how things had progressed to that point, Bi Jing Ye came back for round two to push Jun Jie’s moods further and further down those levels of Hell. He seriously wasn’t stopping anytime soon; and he would be crazy if he was stopping. He was so successful with his plan so how could he stop?

Back at the Lai resident, Chairman Lai was fuming over how his sons were so lacking in the filial piety department, trying to bring his blood pressure to a new peak. For once, his wife was the calm one, reminding him of his health. (And I just have to interrupt and say that Chairman Lai was quite dumb too so he couldn’t scold his sons for falling into other people’s traps. He listened to Bi Jing Ye without even investigating things out for himself, so how could he expect his kids to do otherwise? He had no idea who was the puppeteer behind this whole scheme, so they couldn’t be that bright to suspect anyone so close to them either.) The wife was smart though, she was surprised how Tian Cheng and Yu Jie could fend so well like that, not causing troubles yet the other two were the ones causing them headaches. It was true to some extent, especially how Jun Jie was always knowing how to take care of himself and work hard. And though Yu Xiang was such a brag, only his arrogance needed to be curved, so how could he be so fierce as to go against his father, right? Hopefully, they could decode this whole situation faster. It would be too annoying if they’re so dumb like that. Even if it was someone they trusted so much and couldn’t be blamed for being off-guard but still annoying. I just love Mrs. Lai, she wanted to investigate further into the matter yet her husband kept insisting that Bi Jing Ye already said it so clearly, what was there to investigate. Seriously? So as Chairman Lai stormed away from the scene, claiming he was already full of anger so he didn’t need to eat anymore, Mrs. Lai picked up her phone to make a call. To investigate? Hopefully so.

At their uncle, Yang Bo Wen’s place, Jun Jie came home to see Yu Xiang already home, moping over something. Yet he didn’t ask, he just went on his way–or attempted to. Yu Xiang stopped him. (Wow, let me guess, did that Gao dude get to him aka managed to bring Jun Jie into the matter somehow? Considering how one of the traitors from his father’s company already went over to Gao to ‘help’.) Ooooh, he was upset because Jun Jie didn’t appreciate his ‘help’ to patch things up with Bi Ting, not regarding the other matter. But still, Jun Jie was already upset, probably affected by what that Bi Jing Ye told him earlier about knowing his ‘place’. Before he could go on though, Yang Bo Wen came home, ranting out how it was good they were present hence stopping a possible fight from taking place. Jun Jie ended up leaving first before their uncle could say anything else. Yet Yang Bo Wen was surprised Jun Jie was so rude, just exiting like that, not hearing his news yet. What surprised him, even more, was Yu Xiang’s attempt to make up some excuse such as ‘too tired’ to cover up for Jun Jie. Then he even said ‘welcome home’ before excusing himself. What was going on, right? Yu Xiang clearly stated that what he cared about the most at the moment was to resurrect Jun Jie and Bi Ting’s relationship. (It was strange though because he had so much on his plate at work too, but he only cared about Jun Jie and Bi Ting’s situation when he got home versus Jun Jie taking it out on him. Well, it was hard to blame Jun Jie when he got so much on his plate too. But it wasn’t like Yu Xiang didn’t have to deal with all the crap at work as well.)

As the story shifted gear, we finally got the chance to hear about how Xiao Die felt about Guan Shi Cong. She indeed liked him yet she loved her father more. It was natural that she would prefer her father more. So if Tian Cheng were to hear it, he would so be on Cloud 9, considering how he was competing with the guy earlier, not wanting Xiao Die to accept the other guy’s gifts.

Next day, Bi Ting was seen at the park, watering her tree and talking to it. (Crazy, eh?) The person sneaking up on her was Yu Xiang. He was about to tease her yet couldn’t because she told him something quite sad. Not that sad, but sad comparing to what he would have expected of her answer. Anyway, he was just teasing her of how much she loved that tree. And she said it was the only birthday she got from someone and it was so unique too. They were staring at each other a little. Was he reconsidering even more about her?

There was one good news out of all these turmoils they were going through though. Yu Xiang told Bi Ting that he wouldn’t snatch clients away from his father’s company when she asked him regarding the situation with Gao You Da. Yes, it was just about his principle but Yu Xiang didn’t want to commit a crime by doing those things. Bi Ting looked like she was proud of him. (Let’s see if he could keep past that temptation.) Their conversation was interrupted this time by Min Ling calling in. After he got off the phone, he randomly asked what Bi Ting’s greatest dream was. He exuded his ‘boss’ power to force her into telling him, lol. But he can’t laugh. He swore but had cracked a tad, trying to tease her, lol. So, what was her biggest dream? She wanted to go to Paris (to study). And it wasn’t surprising that he teased her, turning the whole situation into some weird thing.

When they were back at the company, Yu Xiang had to deal with that despicable Chen Guo Long. Though Chen Guo Long had brought out Gao You Da’s words to snuff Yu Xiang into succumbing to the actions of snatching the clients away from his father’s company, Yu Xiang still didn’t back down. Even if Chen Guo Long was using the threat with how Yu Xiang’s seat could become his if Yu Xiang didn’t do what Gao You Da said, Yu Xiang still didn’t care. How long could he stay firm though? This was definitely a test for him here. Though he could run back to his father’s place at any time and his life would be back to normal. Yet his pride was too big.

Instead of worrying over that matter, Yu Xiang ended up reminiscing about what Bi Ting told him earlier of her biggest dream ever. He had called a travel agency to arrange two tickets to Paris. Wow, so he was really going forward with fulfilling her dream for her?

The episode continued with Yu Xiang launching an investigation on what happened. Well, it was the first day so he wasn’t going to go all ballistic on them. Yet…after all, it was his idea. They did tell him before. The mystery was finally solved with how Shen Xin Ru was able to score 1 versus the others having clients yet wasn’t able to lure anyone in. So the older couple was more prepared for the upcoming inevitable than the youthful couples. (Obviously.) Since the code was cracked, Yu Xiang decided to encourage them on, not giving up on his plans just yet.

A surprise twist though, because after the meeting, Bi Ting actually approached Yu Xiang to ask about Jun Jie. Usually, he was the one initiating the conversation or the teasing, etc. Anyway, she wanted to ask him about Jun Jie because she wanted to return something to Jun Jie. Yu Xiang said he wanted to take a look. Great or what? Bi Ting was definitely digging a hole for herself this time, conjuring up his curiosity. But he sort of backed down, not totally though. He told her she could come along but will have to pay for the transportation fees. Nice?

So at Sam Brunch, Jun Jie was praising Tian Cheng’s latest dish as Sam was cleaning up at the counter. Yu Xiang soon walked in with Bi Ting in toll. Tian Cheng immediately assumed that Bi Ting was Yu Xiang’s girlfriend since they were together after all. Yet Jun Jie dispelled that. Tian Cheng didn’t get the answer yet though since Yu Xiang rattled out his order before he (Tian Cheng) could get ‘nosy’. But it was Yu Xiang’s time to get nosy since he was really anxious about the ‘item’ that Bi Ting was going to return to Jun Jie. It was indeed the watch that Jun Jie gave her previously that she wanted to return, knowing it was too much. Jun Jie kept insisting as it were, that dragged out until who else but Shu Xin walked by and saw them. (Was she there earlier but the others just didn’t know? Since she walked out from somewhere, not from the front door in.) Another round of awkwardness traveled around them as Bi Ting looked toward Yu Xiang for help. (Or was that it with the look she sent him?) Though Shu Xin was asking Yu Xiang about his new job yet she was definitely glaring at Bi Ting to see what the other party was up to, even testing Bi Ting by hooking her hands through Jun Jie’s. Yu Xiang finally reacted and replied to Shu Xin’s question, even standing up. As if trying to reduce the hectic feeling of the atmosphere, Jun Jie quickly excused himself to go help Tian Cheng. (Like Tian Cheng needed help.) His brief departure set the stage for Yu Xiang’s exit. Because Jun Jie couldn’t come to the rescue, Yu Xiang had to once again do it, rattling out to Shu Xin that he was on a date with Bi Ting but just wanted to stop by. Upon their exit, Jun Jie came back and asked them why they were leaving. Why else? (Hello, you didn’t help the matter except run away.) Too bad we didn’t get to see another round of Yu Xiang wrapping his arms around Bi Ting and hauling her away. He was actually keeping his distance already, considering how he finally acknowledged that Bi Ting could be with Jun Jie. (The reason why I say ‘could be’ because everything at this point is so ambiguous with Jun Jie’s moves. Though we definitely know who he likes at this point, he’s still stalling about the other situation.)

Soon Tian Cheng was coming back, realizing that Yu Xiang left and–without paying, he couldn’t be more upset. It was also around then that Yang Bo Wen entered stage left to lecture Tian Cheng with his always talking about money. That wasn’t the most upsetting thing to Tian Cheng (being lectured that was), but the most upsetting thing had shifted to his ex-wife dressing in a sexy dress and addressing some of the customers. Honestly, Yi Ru was definitely out to get back at him. It served him right for wanting to hire some sexy girls to work for the cafe. She was out to prove a point. What to do now? Of course, he had to drag her out of there and confront her. He had no choice but to get his over-sized coat from back and wrapped it over her, dragging her out of the restaurant altogether. Honestly? Funny that he could act like that since what about all those times that she had to endure his hitting on girls?

Back on the Yu Xiang and Bi Ting front, which was honestly much needed at the moment since they hadn’t spent much time together lately. (Well, they were always together at work but not talking on a personal level as much, even if just teasing.) And I honestly am learning to appreciate Yu Xiang at this point. Though he was so, so arrogant and seemed to look down on the world at first. Yet in a way, it was good that each time he spoke, he meant it. Then there was the whole thing with, he was able to do things at times that people thought they couldn’t. What was so hard, right? Even now, he could allow himself to be a ‘silent’ ear if Bi Ting had anything to say. Perhaps, he was finally treating Bi Ting like a friend, because, in other circumstances, he wouldn’t allow others to waste his time, especially remembering the time when she forced him to be her driver to catch up to her mother. He didn’t tolerate it, even if he knew what was going on. This time? He went further by assuring her that there was nothing going on between Jun Jie and Shu Xin. Yet Yu Xiang kept it quite real. Though he tried to assure Bi Ting, he also told her that this matter was all up to her, only she could know. He even advised her to have a real discussion with Jun Jie. And once again, I really love Bi Ting for it, not too naive in thinking it would work out. Because she told Yu Xiang she had a talk with Jun Jie already, but it seemed like there was no use. The first time Yu Xiang cheered her up with encouraging her on–if she indeed intended to go forward knowing that this road would be quite tiresome. Possibly the second time though since the first time she played along with his persistence of stating that she ‘secretly admired’ him.  (OMG, am I dreaming? He even disputed the transportation fees since he said her moods weren’t too good. Definitely treating her like a friend now.) After all the serious talk and then the little jokes, Yu Xiang still insisted on taking a glimpse of the gift that Bi Ting received from Jun Jie. She denied, of course.

Another turn around was how he wanted to ask Bi Ting of her opinion regarding his newest plan. Yes, the one they had discussed with the others at the company. Why a turn? Because he finally talked about work outside of work with her, meaning he really valued her opinion as a friend and trusted her professionalism, instead of just rattling out orders at work for them to follow. Indeed, Bi Ting was now discussing with him in a serious manner, stating that his idea wasn’t bad but the approach just wasn’t right yet. It was indeed too new of an idea. Or more like if one thought of that situation right on their wedding event, would it bring bad luck? It was more like a frame of mind people often associated with and was used to. But Yu Xiang just had to ruin the moment with his smart mouth again. It wouldn’t be the same if they didn’t have those random banters though, right?

As cliched as it got (and I honestly don’t mind this time), it rained. But unlike those cliched moments where the guy shielded the girl from rain and ended up getting wet, Bi Ting chided Yu Xiang to hurry and get out of there before it poured even harder. So they ran out of there together. Brief but cute that he was listening to her. (Well, if he didn’t, he would end up getting wet and sick.) As familiar as it got with the plot formula, the scene once again repeated itself with her fast asleep while he was driving her home. Like last time, he wanted to call her but stopped short because he realized she was sleeping. Unlike last time, right? (Because he roused her up and was too glad to get rid of her, even if he was smiling but had cunningly slipped the fees slip into her hands.) Yu Xiang waited and even stared at her as she slept. (I was so glad of this familiar scene this time around because it showed all the differences.) Then the phone rang yet it was different from Yu Xiang because they didn’t get interrupt of this scene together. Yu Xiang reached into her handbag to retrieve the phone, turning it off after checking who it was from. He didn’t mean to cut the connection, because his intention this time was to not disturb Bi Ting’s slumber. It wasn’t like he would erase the call history. (Love the song playing in the background at this point, so suitable for the scene. It’s Hu Xia’s Step Forward.) OMG, I so love the scriptwriters! Showing major progress in the Yu Xiang and Bi Ting moments. (That I forgave all his past misdeeds toward her.) He actually draped his jacket over her, trying to not wake her up in the process. (Again, another cliched formula, but it was unimaginable that he would do it for her, considering their past grudges and all. Definitely a leap in their relationship, even if it might just be Yu Xiang’s one-sided caring at this point.)

Though Jun Jie was trying desperately to reach Bi Ting on the phone at the moment and got interfered by Yu Xiang’s action, I don’t feel sorry for Jun Jie at all. It was his fault not to play the hero and kept dodging to the point that Yu Xiang kept having to patch up things and had to drag Bi Ting out of awkward moments. Jun Jie finally sent Bi Ting a text instead of kept calling, thinking Bi Ting didn’t pick up on purpose. The sound of that text message also awakened Bi Ting. (So Yu Xiang didn’t turn the phone off, only cut the call off so it wouldn’t disturb Bi Ting’s slumber.) It was so cute that Yu Xiang pretended to look straight ahead and was fidgeting–like he wasn’t staring. (No sirree, lol.) And he recovered as fast with his snappy response when she asked why he didn’t wake her up. (His answer was she slept like a pig so he wasn’t able to rouse her up. LOL!) He was still playing the ‘mean’ front yet it was just too funny at this moment. (I can’t take him seriously anymore, not after how he stared at Bi Ting like that.) Yet he soon encouraged her on regarding their job the next day. And that was definitely a wrap for their memorable night together since he actually watched until she entered her place before he would leave. Both because he was staring and wanted to make sure she was safe.

Several days later, Jun Jie was seen at a restaurant, still trying to save his relationship (or whatever it was at this point) with Bi Ting. Her tossing the phone on the sofa that night after Yu Xiang dropped her off had indicated that she was definitely mad and it seemed like she hadn’t returned his messages. Meanwhile, at the company, Xiao Q was bringing their lunch (the typical instant noodles again) and Bi Ting was getting ready to eat when she received the message from Jun Jie. Same reaction as last time, but since it was the desk, she didn’t toss the phone so hard like last time. Xiao Q quickly asked what was wrong yet Bi Ting brushed her off again. Her moods were indeed quite terrible at the moment. Seeing it was hopeless to talk to Bi Ting, Xiao Q chose to exit stage left. That was also about the time the camera changed its angle and exposed Yu Xiang’s spying. So he had been checking up on her. (Not in a work sense where it was appropriate that he was keeping his employees in line. He had the worried look on his face so it was more along the line of personal matters at the moment.) The silent war continued with Jun Jie’s constant messaging to Bi Ting as Yu Xiang watched nearby–without Bi Ting noticing it, feeling helpless of the stalemate. Indeed, Yu Xiang seemed to have forgotten about his ‘beauty’ since he was supposed to be seeking her out during free time, especially recently to celebrate over his recent success. Yet he chose to stay by Bi Ting’s side and silently look after her? (Even if he knew Shu Xin liked his brother in the past, he hadn’t hinted at giving up, but now? He seemed to unknowingly protect Bi Ting without realizing it.)

As the days passed by, it seemed that Yu Xiang’s true ‘secret admirer’ was nowhere to be seen. He was seen with Bi Ting more. On one of those occasions, Yu Xiang finally had the chance to ‘rescue Bi Ting’ out of yet another awkward moment. It was business this time, not personal but still. As it were, Bi Ting was so careless that she had forgotten their latest customer had already called to reschedule but it totally slipped her mind. Just when she didn’t know how to get off the stage, Yu Xiang stepped in to interfere and used his charm to dispel the whole awkward situation. Bi Ting, stunned, finally realized the change in Yu Xiang. No, he hadn’t changed with using his charms to get his way (since he just used it right in front of her), but he didn’t scold her like in the past (if she were to make a mistake). As they left though, he stated he could start scolding her if she wished, lol. And he told her to forget it since she was ‘Dao Mei Nv” (倒楣女) after all. Even that didn’t cheer her up, not quite yet. So he had to exude his arrogance and give out ‘love advice’ once again.

Bi Ting’s love adviser’s effort wasn’t in vain at all since he managed to convince her to go see Jun Jie. At least get the talk out of the way instead of torturing everyone involved with the silent war, right? (Well, it was more like Yu Xiang couldn’t bear to watch any longer hence finally interfering with his own analysis, using a business meeting as an example.) Though this silent war wasn’t all in vain because their time apart made Jun Jie realized the little things that he often missed about their interactions in the past. This seemed like a hallmark moment because their relationship wasn’t so loose anymore. The person who walked in to witness their blissful scene wasn’t Shu Xin this time, but Yu Xiang. And contrary to his usual style, he didn’t interrupt them like the previous times to tease, but signaled for Jun Jie not to speak up. Leaving the place, his smile had turned off. It seemed like he was happy for them yet wasn’t so happy. (It was hard to blame, how could he be truly happy?)

Don’t worry about Yu Xiang being sad for long, because his ‘secret admirer’ spotted him out riding his bike and engaged in a conversation. To which, he bragged on and on about himself again. At least he was still able to joke. Cute moment between the two of them though, and how the lady boss was trying to get him to buy flowers for her yet failed.

Before Jun Jie could enjoy his happiness too much, he was confronted by Shu Xin again. Yes, more good news coming in so a typical meal or some trip wasn’t what she wanted. She was still waiting for his answer yet he was still pretending to be dumb. Seriously? He was once again rescued by the phone ringing, business matter–for real this time. He was given an opportunity to once again dodge her question. But to get back to business, Jun Jie’s obstacle this time was trying to get past the whole feng shui matters again with their clients.

Back at the Yu Xiang and Bi Ting front, business meeting again. How have they been doing recently? Any improvements? Still no changes from last time, still only one willing to go for the new package. Even after Shen Xin Ru spoke up regarding the situation, Yu Xiang was still stubborn about his new plan. Zhou Si Yi made a lot of sense with her analysis too. But hey, it was Yu Xiang, he didn’t want to see failure. He had to succeed, somehow. (Or die trying.) Bi Ting was indeed very brave to speak up after Yu Xiang had made his point clear. But I agree with Bi Ting, why doesn’t he go face the customers with them? He would understand the situation more. Look at Zhou Si Yi’s expression, she was indeed rooting for Bi Ting (silently). OMG, he actually agreed to go with them? Everyone was surprised, even Bi Ting herself. Since he did look quite fiercely at her. Ooooh, there was definitely a catch to the whole deal. No wonder. He couldn’t be that easily affected by Bi Ting, right? He accepted the challenge yet on his own terms. Freaky indeed. (The terms: They separated into two teams to compete against one another. It didn’t matter who the losing team was, one person from the losing side will be fired. Teams: Yu Xiang, Bi Ting, Yang Min Ling vs. Shen Xin Ru, Zhou Si Yi, and Xiao Q.) Everyone would be blaming Bi Ting now after Yu Xiang exit the scene? Well, not everyone, but more like Shen Xin Ru. At least Zhou Si Yi didn’t attack Bi Ting, even taking on the role of peacemaker and reminding them that they were all on the same boat and everyone should do their best from now on.

So the battle began with Bi Ting and Yang Min Ling doing the opening act while Yu Xiang covered the ‘special’ performance to convince their customer. Seriously? What in the world was he doing dressed like that? Their customer was so excited to get a certain special package yet they have no idea it was that weird. (Should’ve gone to another wedding planning place.) OMG, if anyone thought it was bad already with the girls introducing the package after wedding details were already discussed, Yu Xiang’s current approach was ten times worse. His choice of ‘words’ made them want to kill him even more than anything. Not to mention, he ruined the whole moment for the couple, causing one big misunderstanding. The situation was spreading and turning into a bigger issue than they initially thought with being able to find at least one customer who would accept the ‘special’ package. This time, it was up to Bi Ting to patch up the situation. It was her turn to save the day versus her absent-mindedness that had caused some past complications and Yu Xiang had to patch it up. Though he wouldn’t admit it out loud, he was proud of her.

That was funny how Bi Ting told Yu Xiang he shouldn’t ‘help’ them in the future anymore. Yet she stopped herself and excused herself to go take care of matters. The way she was somewhat ‘chiding’ him earlier made me feel like they were a pair of husband and wife managing the place and she chided him like a typical wife, telling him not to ‘ruin’ business anymore. Their roles reversed again when he used his ‘boss’ status to summon her back. He indeed gave her a good scare, because he was just calling her back to praise her performance for this particular case. It was hard for her not to be shocked. It was super rare that he would cover for her, now even admitting upfront of her performance.

On the Yu Jie front, Long Tian Xing promised her that he will never act fierce in front of her anymore. It wasn’t because he had a change of heart, just slightly. But it was more like how she had already curved her attitude so he would help her with her acting but won’t be so fierce. (It was indeed the directors who wanted to teach her a lesson, not really wanting to harm her but just want to get their point across with respecting others, especially those who worked closely with her whether in front or behind the scenes.)

That night, Jun Jie came home to see Yu Xiang hard at work. It seemed strange he wasn’t bragging anymore. After learning of a certain ‘lost’, Jun Jie immediately asked about Bi Ting’s well-being, thinking Yu Xiang was up to something again. Yet they steered the conversation toward the real situation, which was how Jun Jie kept thinking about not wanting to hurt either side. Yu Xiang stated that Jun Jie shouldn’t keep that mindset with not wanting to hurt both sides yet ended up doing just so. And he finally admit that though Bi Ting was an unlucky girl, she was still a good girl, so Jun Jie shouldn’t hurt her. (Wow, major speaking up for Bi Ting indeed.)

The next day at work, Jun Jie seemed like he really want to talk to Shu Xin to sort out matters once and for all. Yet he was still hesitant. In a way, he was right with Shu Xin having high self-pride so it was just so hard to break it to her or turn her down. Yet it was still no excuse to string her along for so long. She already made it clear that she wanted him. It was his turn to deliver an answer. Just when he finally mustered up the courage to tell her and struggled to deliver the message, the phone rang once again to interrupt. Jun Jie was indeed holding the record for ‘keep getting interrupted because someone called in’. Bad news so whatever it was that Jun Jie wanted to say will have to wait. Or will have to die with time since no one had the heart to discuss those matters in such hectic time. (And I so am sticking with my answer that that Bi Shu dude had something to do with it, considering how he would know more than anyone that eventually those clients will seek out a feng shui expert to consult.)

Back on the Yu Xiang and Bi Ting front, they were still suffering badly because they only have one out of luck; and the other side have thirteen (lucky thirteen this time). Honestly, Bi Ting was getting braver by the moment. Desperate times indeed conjured up desperate behaviors. Yu Xiang, though still confidence, was somewhat affected by their situation. He wasn’t worried about firing himself, but more like he had a point to prove. He didn’t want to fail. Thanks to Yang Min Ling, Yu Xiang finally have a new idea. What now?

On the other hand, Jun Jie finally arrived at his father’s company and managed to get into Bi Shu’s office to have some sort of conversation. YUP, the guy was definitely acting out his pitiful look. (It was already obvious from the phone conversation he was in on it.) OMG, he didn’t? No wait, he did. I knew he was up to something, but didn’t realize he was steering everything in that direction. He was trying to create a big rip between Jun Jie and his father. By just suggesting that what the feng shui expert said and what his father said to him earlier were indeed the same words, it made Jun Jie connect the dots to this whole scheme having to do with his father.

Back to Yu Xiang, Bi Ting, and Min Ling’s meeting, it was indeed getting even more interesting. Yu Xiang found a gap and could improvise his plan a little, making it more flexible and less dead trap with the whole package. Even Bi Ting agreed that it was a good plan. Min Ling was worried if their boss would agree with the new plan.

And bouncing back to the whole Jun Jie situation again. He was definitely falling into Bi Shu’s trap. The other guy was so pretending to decipher the codes and steering everything into Mr. Lai’s direction. Jun Jie fell into the trap just like that. It was hard to blame him because he indeed heard his father say all those stuffs about feng shui earlier. But the old man was just stating the real-life situation and the possibilities of clients relying on feng shui to buy houses. It just so happened that this Bi Shu dude took advantage of the situation to drive the rip even further for both parties. (The parents’ plan of making them cave in was seriously backfiring on them with some parties taking advantage of the situation to strike. It was too good of an opportunity not to.) OMG, this guy was going even further, playing the card with how the father didn’t go all out with Yu Xiang. (Really? Well, Jun Jie wouldn’t know since he wasn’t there when Yu Xiang got kicked out of one company after another. Even if Yu Xiang had deserved it with his arrogant speeches those times, but those were really hard blows on his ego.) So that Bi Shu dude was playing the card with the whole Jun Jie being the adopted son to drive the madness along, wanting to create a rip between him and Yu Xiang as well. (Honestly, if Yu Xiang had money from his father, would he had gone over to work for Mr. Gao? Really? Jun Jie wouldn’t know but it was so frustrating watching this guy manipulating the whole situation. ) And the guy succeeded in persuading Jun Jie to side with him, great? He was a master of manipulation at this point. Yet all these go to show that the Lai family have major communication problems hence outsiders able to manipulate the situation and say whatever they want. It didn’t matter if Jun Jie was one of their own or not, the old man was practically going the lightest on Jun Jie. Yu Xiang got the brunt of the ‘throwing out of places’ so it wasn’t like he was being biased. Even if he didn’t treat Jun Jie like a son, there was still his wife who loved Jun Jie dearly and wouldn’t let her husband harm Jun Jie.

As Jun Jie returned to the company, Shu Xin was pacing. After the recounts of what was supposedly going on, Shu Xin offered to go seek out her father for help. At this point, it was harder and harder for Jun Jie to let go. He did try to stop her from getting her father to interfere. But it was too late, she insisted. There was no way he could get away from Shu Xin at this point. He couldn’t lose against his father.

The episode continued with the usual 411 with Yu Xiang. He was telling them the changes in the new company and how they were going to be affected, who was going to be assigned to what department. The usual steps they have to go through when businesses get changed. They were already lucky that their jobs were still secured. At least at this stage. But the memorable moment of the whole meeting this time was after Yu Xiang was done talking, he approached Bi Ting and stopped in front of her, flashing out his usual teasing smile, causing jealousy from others nearby. They had no idea what game both were playing.

As news traveled through the ‘gossip fields’, Jun Jie and Shu Xin were sitting around talking about Yu Xiang’s latest move (aka collaborating with Mr. Gao). To think that Jun Jie was saying he was surprised that Yu Xiang would take such actions, I don’t know what to say about him at all at this point. Well, for both of them actually. They could make their moves to advance their careers/love life YET was judging Yu Xiang’s move? Wow, really? (NOT trying to stomp on them on purpose here, but I swear it proved even more that the packaging on the outside is always so misleading. At least Yu Xiang had been upfront about stuff that he wanted, just up to them whether they take him serious or not.) But I guess they shouldn’t gossip about other people’s life much since Jun Jie and his pal, Xue Ming, had more crucial things to take care of. (Side-Note: It was interesting how Xue Ming had pointed out that he and Shu Xin shared the same last name during their first meeting. Hinting much? LOL…)

On lighter note, or not so lighter note, the first official meeting of the new company had finally commenced. With Yu Xiang still being mean and arrogant yet he wasn’t going off-topic with the discussions. (But to get random, wow, Yu Xiang was really surrounded by the girl population, whether beauty or not, still felt like he was the emperor all right, lol.) Yu Xiang’s plan got everyone’s face longer and longer. Even if he was right with mixing everything into the package and expanding their business, but that was too much. Even the arrogant Shen Xin Ru couldn’t say anything. And even if he was right, only to some extent, since they had pointed out, how could anyone discuss those matters during the happiest moment of their life? And omg, I thought Yu Xiang was only being mean to Bi Ting, but he didn’t even spare Shen Xin Ru of an embarrassing moment. She actually brought it onto herself by trying to kiss up. Back on track, I sort of find it cute that he always looked at Bi Ting after some meeting event or sending her secret signs–even if they were supposedly at work. That caused Xiao Q to stare at Bi Ting, wondering if something was indeed up with them. (Even if Xiao Q knew too well of Bi Ting and Jun Jie’s situation.)

Back on the Jun Jie front, he was like Yu Xiang at this point, trying to seek out some answers. He had to swallow back some pride and go back to his father’s company. Not to apologize and take back his job though. But more like trying to investigate into the matter of how all his projects were now belonging to his father’s company. Or more like regardless of future projects, including the current one. Again, I wonder if it was really his father commanding other departments to take action or that certain ‘friend’ had done it on his own to cut off their paths. Sure, it started with their parents, but did someone take advantage of the situation to mix in their own batch of dramas?

That night, at Sam Brunch, Sam was being overworked because Tian Cheng had taken Xiao Die out. Poor Sam. I can’t blame him for chasing Yu Jie, Yu Xiang, and Jun Jie out. If they can’t help, they would only distract from his work while they chattered on. Tian Cheng still had the nerve to criticize the lack of the ‘welcome’? It was his fault that Sam had to take charge of the whole situation. YUP, poor Sam fainted and Tian Cheng still had time to brag?

Back at home, or more like back at their uncle’s place, Yu Xiang and Yu Jie were talking about their latest luck. Of course, squeezing in some banter as well. And like before, the scene at Sam Brunch repeated itself, with the three siblings walking in all excited–one after another to announce their good news. Yet this time, the fight was between the three of them. At least until their uncle couldn’t stand their arrogance (mostly Yu Xiang) anymore and had to enter the house to tell them off. Of course, that also included some lecturing time for all three, mostly Yu Xiang though. Only Yu Jie was able to get past their uncle’s ranting since she managed to persuade him otherwise and he finally went upstairs, unlike the other two who had to run off on their own.

So the next day, Tian Cheng finally decided to employ new ‘help’? Since he was conducting interviews at Sam Brunch while his uncle drooled over some girls. (Poor the girls, this could call for harassment.) At the same time, Jun Jie was also celebrating at the company with Shu Xin, Xue Ming, and other shareholders. Apparently, this was supposed to be ‘hush-hush’ from Yi Ru, so it can’t be good. Was Tian Cheng turning this place into some nightclub instead of the usual cafe? Yet as the day dragged on and on with their interviews, I didn’t feel as sorry for some of the girls, especially those who purposely flaunt their stuff in front of those two perverts. Like they could hide it from Yi Ru since she walked in later and confronted Tian Cheng. Lucky for the uncle, he wasn’t around at the moment. (But even if he was, he would have dodged out of it in no time.)

On the Jun Jie front, he could no longer dodge from Shu Xin since she invited him in for coffee that night. (Coffee isn’t ‘coffee’ in the middle of the night. God, they just have to ruin coffee like that.) And then Jun Jie had the nerve to be ambiguous again, trying to delay the answer, especially how he brought up the topic of his new company just taking off with the project, etc. (She was indeed so forward with her style and I thought it was daring yet I still don’t feel right that he was deceiving her. Or was her refusal to believe he would like Bi Ting the catalyst for her downfall? Yet she couldn’t lose in the end, so not possible?) I swear Jun Jie’s so playing with fire. (She sounded crazier than ever.) Somehow, Jun Jie managed to dodge from the situation completely (via Xue Ming’s oh so convenient call in the middle of the night to discuss matters) and went out shopping for a new watch. He was indeed celebrating his latest victory. Yet was that too early of a celebration?

While stating that he had some business to take care of and Shu Xin should rest, Jun Jie didn’t stop with his watch purchase as a sign of celebration for his new achievement. He went further by going over to Bi Ting’s house and sought her out to celebrate with him, sharing the moment. It was indeed different from when he tried to wing it through with Shu Xin. (It still gave him no right to use her like that though.)  After some encouragement from Bi Ting for him to continue accepting new challenges, it was revealed that he didn’t just buy one watch. It was a pair. (It made sense though.) It was so priceless that Jun Jie got interrupted at the most important moment. (Hey, he did bail out on Shu Xin with some excuse regarding a business call. It was only right that karma went right back. It was really Xue Ming calling at an incidental time and I’m not siding with Shu Xin, but I’m still mad that he didn’t clarify matters with Shu Xin, kept stringing her along and trying to secure his business connections.) How convenient it was that Shu Xin called too. Well, it would make sense it was about business but in the middle of the night? Trying to test the water? These people were making me laugh too much with their schemes. And I will forgive Bi Ting this time for believing Jun Jie wasn’t so fussy anymore, because she was seriously in the dark and had no idea that he was still stringing Shu Xin along.

Another day and they were having breakfast at Sam Brunch again. Yet there was some good news to share, mostly Yu Jie’s popularity rising after her collaboration with Long Tian Xing. But there were also awkward moments. Luckily, someone shut Yu Jie up before she could go on and on about Shu Xin again. Well, when the focus was on her career, of course she would gladly switch topics. The course of the conversation soon turned routine with their uncle’s bragging and each one of them leaving to start another day at work, except for Tian Cheng of course since he was already working.

And even more good news greeted Jun Jie that day as he went to meet with Pi Shu to sort out the so-called misunderstanding. It seemed like the man had managed to score some deals for Jun Jie and he was more than glad. Yet I don’t like the look on the man’s face because he apparently was up to something. After all, their father was still on his trip so he wouldn’t be around to know of the current situation. Who knew if Pi Jing Ye had passed the words along to the father or he was just putting on his own show. (Or I’m just plain to suspicious of the whole situation. It’s just too weird. The look on Pi Jing Ye’s face after Jun Jie left was super suspicious also.)

As Jun Jie fled to Bi Ting’s company to tell her the latest good news, Yu Xiang stepped into the picture once again. Though I was slightly touched that he said he wanted to tell Bi Ting first, still haven’t forgiven him. (Since he was able to outright tell Yu Jie off and how her connection to Shu Xin wasn’t so yet he was still stringing Shu Xin on and using her.) Gotta love Yu Xiang for keep sabotaging them. (Yeah, in a mean way but it was his place after all so it made sense he was walking around. Just like when Shu Xin was there, it was up to her benefit to stalk them.) That was so funny that Yu Xiang was saying the words that Bi Ting said earlier regarding how there were too many people around this place, etc. (He had no idea since he was just teasing them, but it was funny how things turned out.)

Moving back to the Tian Cheng front, it was so cute that he was taking Xiao Die out again. And somewhat hilarious that Tian Cheng was jealous of Guan Shi Cong. He refused to let Xiao Die accept gifts from the guy. (It reminded me of what their uncle said, how Yi Ru and Tian Cheng were already divorced, did Tian Cheng expect Yi Ru to stay single for the rest of her life?) So cute that Xiao Die was feeding him priceless information without realizing it. It was indeed eating Tian Cheng inside that someone was acting intimate with Yi Ru. Yet he couldn’t just get all riled up in front of his cute daughter. It was cute how he finally convinced her to only accept his gifts, not others.

On Yu Jie’s side, she was out shopping with Shu Xin again. Or was just using that excuse to chat up a storm and celebrate over Yu Jie’s latest success in her career. After some more boring girl talk between them, they part ways because Shu Xin was called back to work on the latest case with Jun Jie. Yet the juiciest part of the scene must be Long Tian Xing being stalked by the paparazzi and then Yu Jie used that opportunity to stalk him as well. Long Tian Xing was with an older woman and it seemed like a field day for the paparazzi. (Yet I think that was either his mom or some other family member.) Yu Jie though quite pro with her stalking technique, somehow, lost him along the way. (Tough luck. Just admit she like him already.)

Talking about luck, Bi Ting’s day wasn’t going as well as she had expected. Or perhaps she already expected the worse because of how she tried to squeeze in Yu Xiang’s little proposal and managed to score herself one less customer. Indeed, it was like the others had said at the meeting, no one in their right mind would agree to such a proposal on their supposedly blissful event, even if there was some added benefits. But Bi Ting wasn’t discouraged, still trying to keep her spirits high, not wanting to give up. She couldn’t anyway–unless she wanted to search for a new job.

Oh, I was wrong. Luck wasn’t so cruel to Yu Jie since she managed to find the older woman and had a chat with her. Indeed she was Long Tian Xing’s mother. The paparazzi would be in for a good laugh this time (aka people laughing at them). So it was Yu Jie who told them about the paparazzi following them and that was why Long Tian Xing managed to leave first and divert attention from his mother. Yu Jie had definitely scored some points with both mother and son this time. (Or would Long Tian Xing just treat this as celebs looking out for one another and nothing more?)

Back on the Bi Ting front, Yu Xiang was definitely fuming. Well, almost there since he was checking their progress for that day and it seemed like Bi Ting’s luck was really running low. But the girls did tell him during the meeting already. He didn’t listen. And how in the world did Shen Xin Ru get one? She must be mad good with her persuasive skills. Gotta give her that. No wonder she was so arrogant, she had some major skills to back herself up.

And we don’t have a chance to hear Yu Xiang scold the poor girls since that was the end of the episode.
