Golden Bell Awards 2013: Winners

I know, I know. I’m way late with posting up results. But I had to wait until I actually have time or try to squeeze in some watching here and there before I could post this up – instead of just copying and pasting stuffs from other sites. Anyway, those of you who have watched or read news know who won. (Go here to read about more exciting updates from the pros! LOL!) Again, like last year, I’m posting results by the order it was announced (except for variety shows, etc).

Wow! Congrats to all winners! It was fun to watch. But what I enjoyed was the unpredictable winners versus last year’s repetitive trends. I’m not acting like a sore loser about last year. But I felt this year have more variety with winners versus last year’s one take all so it was a bit boring on that front.

Momo Love: Episode 11

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD. If you DO NOT want to be spoiled, please DO NOT read. You have been warned.

What a way to start the episode off since Chen Ba Ba was seen with a snake! Ekk! Was he planning to use it on them if they did not get their acts together? At least Chen Ma Ma looked like she wanted to use it on their sons. Their frightened looks were back though. Honestly, it was just a clip. Did they still have to wear that expression? Even Yu Yi was finding it hard to swallow. So it was true after all according to the clip they just watched. So the crazy brothers were doing it for both theirs and Tao Hua’s sake.

That news had affected everyone around them, not just the Chen clan. Aww…nice scene between Tao Hua and Xiao Mi. It showed that she was not just hanging around Tao Hua because of her brother but because of their friendship too. But why was Hui Qi around? She was the only who was happy about the matter? Time to take advantage of the situation again. I guess she can’t just change within several days and be all nice, huh? It would be too hard to believe anyway. And they were similar after all since Yu Yi managed to snatch the opportunity to impress Hui Qi as well. (Though she wasn’t convinced.) Still funny.

So the trial was on for Tao Hua to prove that she was capable of doing all the tasks herself. Jia you! Cheng scolding at Tao Hua? A first! (But must say he was anxious too for a good result.) Zhuan’s sneaky behaviors again. Awww….how could he? He shot the balloons! But it was Shi Lang’s encouragement for Tao Hua! Okay, so it was sort of a distraction but still! That was mean! Not to mention I would’ve expected that more from He and not Zhuan. They were double trouble after all so it wasn’t surprising that they shared some similar traits. Moving on, Tao Hua was handling the little monsters better? Great…at least she was showing improvements in that area. Something to be happy about all right.

So Xue Zhi Qiang found his way back to civilization after all since he was running his mouth again during judo. Okay, so who was the one who wouldn’t be serious about training? Hello! And their coach caught on! Smart, Coach! Give it to him! I got happy too early. But we were able to see some of Shi Lang’s jealous acts. Poor the other dude for being thrown like that! He was so not prepared!

That little scene created some opportunity for Hui Qi since she was able to use that time to talk to Shi Lang. However, it was surprising that she was not trying to move in. Okay, she was sort of getting to that part from her expression but somehow, I think she was right. Shi Lang could be so clueless at times and not observant enough. Tao Hua would never accept or care for Zhi Qiang. Shi Lang needs to be more observant.

Eh…what was Shi Ba Ba up to this time around? That was so funny! Thank you, Shi Lang. We needed to hear the main point. Shi Ba Ba kept going around in circles. He was making them dizzy. Oh…so he was trying to help his future daughter-in-law with sharpening her culinary skills. If only he would get to the point faster. What a technique all right! Chanting the mantra would work? At least he was trying to help! Didn’t work though! Oh wow, a second technique! Uh…if only it was easy to understand. I guess it was hard being a genius. He had to come up with those techniques that ordinary people were not able to grasp so easily. Okay, so her imagination was massive yet it did not help any with the real thing. Back to the drawing board, Shi Ba Ba! Love him! He’s so funny! He hypnotized himself! (LOL!)

So it took Shi Lang to persuade her otherwise. I guess it would happen sooner or later since only Shi Lang had an effect on her that the others could not. She finally succeeded!

Things were not on a happy note at the Chen resident though since He was back at it again, wanting to seek for Tao Hua even through the others’ objections. It seemed like Qi, Cheng, and Zhuan were softening up. Even if they did not want to see the inevitable changes Tao Hua was going through, they still want to be good brothers in her heart instead of bestowing more grief upon her shoulders. It took Qi’s raising his voice to stop He, making him give in. (Qi sure was their Lao Da all right. He was able to use his older brother power at the right time, not just like other times when they were acting crazy.) But then He had to open his mouth and talked about the sad topic that they did not want to hear. Whoa! All the others reacted the same, even Yu Yi. (Another time when Yu Yi was not on the out.)

So Tao Hua was not afraid of knives anymore. But it did not mean she was able to cook well. Come on now, it was her first try so no one expected it to be some delicacy, right? Seeing Shi Lang’s expression after taste testing it was funny though. It was very brave of Tao Hua to turn down Shi Lang’s attempt to help though since she wanted to achieve everything on her own, showing her capabilities. On a random note, Shi Lang looked so cute falling asleep like that.

Gasp! How in the world did Shi Lang do it? How did he turn those little devils into little angels? It was a miracle after all!

Yay! They passed the first trial! And then they were scared out of their wits with Cheng’s criticism! But luckily he passed Tao Hua as well! Qi and Zhuan were breathing out. Phew indeed! Awww….Cheng looked so cute trying it on! (Probably trying to rub it in the others’ faces since he got the first one made by Tao Hua!) Seeing Zhuan’s moving lips and Qi’s annoyed expression, it was worth the taunting! Then the others took it into their hands to demand one as well! One each, no problem! Half a year? So much for it! Ooooohh…they were in line but behind Shi Lang? That outta hurt! Cheng was the lucky one after all. Love their annoyed look.

Okay, moving on…it was Tao Hua’s time to prove her culinary skills. Everyone was just looking in from the living room. They wouldn’t want to disturb the chefs at work, right? They were getting anxious since things were turning a bit haywire. Was Zhuan sensitive or was that a weird smell coming from the kitchen? Ekk! Oh, shoot! One chef down! Shi Lang cut himself! (And He thought Tao Hua did it, lol.) So they apologized for nothing? Back to the living room then. (Um…so they only cared if Tao Hua was responsible for it or not? Lucky someone had the mind to tell Yu Yi to tend to Shi Lang.)

So it looked good, but was it edible? It was up to Chef He to decide, right? The others did not even care to sample? Or were they making He their lab rat before they dug in? Okay, maybe they wanted to hear a ‘Pass’ from He before calling for a celebration. Qi, Cheng, and Zhuan’s expressions were so funny though while they were waiting for He to test it. It was like they were waiting for their death sentences or something.

That was hectic all right. Finally a word of approval from He! If he did not say it any sooner, Qi, Cheng, and Zhuan would’ve died from lack of air. They were holding their breaths for too long.

After that touching moment with He’s confession about matters, they were back at it again! Yu Yi was so sneaky! Qi’s sharp eyes caught him and Cheng attempted to stop him but he was faster! Awww…they were like one happy family eating together. Yay! Food fight! Okay, not really since they were just fighting to get more food not using food as weapons. That was funny though. Qi had to remind Zhuan about his declaration earlier with not eating. Why was Zhuan scooping so much food into his bowl? Uhuh, showing your support for your sister’s effort? Great, nice excuse. Like the others were convinced.

Eh…the results were out! Yay! She passed with flying colors! Yu Yi and his power of love rant again. Must admit he was a good tutor! Okay, so not so flying colors since she got a 74 on one of the subjects. It was easy to seek sympathy from her knitting skills but numbers can’t lie, right? How come only several points? Only six points, Shi Lang? Zhuan will flip!

Yu Yi was willing to cheat? The others would kill them if they found out. But they were desperate for a way out, right? If only they could live with their conscience. Desperate times called for desperate measures, but this? How long would it last? What if they were found out since Zhuan was not an idiot. Even Qi, Cheng, and He did not buy it since the results were WAY too unbelievable for the other ones already. Not to mention the only one that she got a 74 on. But then they were equally happy anyway since they did not have to worry anymore. Or did they?

Tao Hua’s conscience was nabbing her since she was melting down to Qi’s encouragements and the others’ unusual proud mode. How could she lie to them, right? Even if it was six points. So Zhuan knew but he did not say anything to expose them…yet. Time to shift their focus back on Yu Yi! (He ran too late! Should have ran when Tao Hua was confessing of her lie.) Lucky Tao Hua was there in time to rescue Yu Yi. Yet Zhuan was not bad either since he pointed out that they were just caring too much for Tao Hua. She was their precious sister after all. They would’ve done anything to help her.

So things weren’t that bad after all. Hopefully, their mother would be reasonable and understanding of the situation. The Chen clan was finally united at last, including Yu Yi! Why was Yu Yi making an excuse to run so fast though? No one was in any hurry to open the door. He did not have to be so anxious. Or was he afraid of the other brothers changing their minds and attacking him once again?

It was a surprise indeed! Look at He all innocent again! Trying to score points with Chen Ma Ma? And Cheng was not far behind either with trying to work his charms again. But then the question came! Why were they unusually quiet? What was so interesting about the ceiling, Cheng? Found something up there? Qi, what about being their fearless leader?

And uh…why was Xue Zhi Qiang around? Up to no good again, of course. But Chen Ba Ba spoke up in time since it created an excuse for them to leave the room and go help Chen Ba Ba with the luggage. They had a lot of luggage? All right…nice one, Shi Lang. That was so cute with him trying to dodge out of the sticky situation though. One of those times we get to see his playful side.

And I think that Zhi Qiang and Hui Qi should get together more than Yu Yi and Hui Qi since he was claiming to be Tao Hua’s fiancee and so was Hui Qi at one point (in regards to Shi Lang). Honestly. Bringing out that old photo for proof? The others could contradict him in two shakes. But then I must give Hui Qi some credit for backing down since she clarified herself before anything else took place. Maybe she was reconsidering matters. She did not want to get on Shi Lang’s bad side again. But then Zhi Qiang was able to hold his own show since he managed to shut Shi Lang up with his fierce attitude and his thick skin. (I have to clarify here that I love Calvin thus far with his performance but I’m just getting turned off with the character Xue Zhi Qiang more and more, that’s all.)

Gotta love Chen Ma Ma for shooting Xue Zhi Qiang down. Since Chen Ba Ba was all smiling and trying to be friendly and hear him out. But Chen Ma Ma was all business. Love Qi and Cheng’s satisfied expressions since Zhi Qiang was not all smile anymore. Then he changed tactic, going for the pitiful look. But that failed too since Chen Ma Ma was super smart after all. She had to care for her daughter’s feelings, NOT just some outsider’s words.

And for the first time, all the crazy Chen brothers were willing to carry out their mother’s task without any signs of silent reluctance. They were ready to kick Xue Zhi Qiang out all right. And Yu Yi even took the opportunity to snatch the picture back. He even received an approval pat on the back from his brothers. This was an improvement for their siblings’ bonding all right.

It was a true reunion indeed since they were gathered in the Chen backyard. Qi spoke too soon though. What ‘tian xia tai ping’? Just because Chen Ma Ma kicked Xue Zhi Qiang out did not mean that she let them off. Thanks again, Mr. Director for another reality check. Yes, I was wondering why in the world didn’t they alert their parents regarding the marriage since it was after all a big deal. But they got scolded for that one so it made sense.

Eh…Shi Lang sneakily watched Tao Hua at work? Wow! And Hui Qi almost looked harmless. Was she really reconsidering things? After all, Shi Lang looked so happy with Tao Hua. Maybe she should let go.

But we did not have time to see her in actions though since Yu Yi was at it again, wanting to go with their parents in Tao Hua’s place. LOL! Nice try, Yu Yi, but the answer was still NO… (Just look at Cheng and Zhuan’s expression!) Yu Yi was convincing with his attempt though. Too bad it didn’t work. He still could not escape from the four monsters’ grasp. So much for their little bonding moment before. Lucky Yu Yi diverted his answer in time or he would face consequences later when their parents were not around.

And Chen Ma Ma was always so fast! She caught on! She was eyeing Hui Qi so suspiciously that I think she might be up to something. Or was that just reading too much into just one expression? But she was sharp after all, she would know.

But first things first since they needed to take care of their precious daughter’s situation before indulging themselves into other ones. Yu Yi will have to wait again. And I was wondering about Shi Lang’s tasks so now Chen Ma Ma brought the subject matter into focus again! Yay! We get to see Shi Lang sweat while answering to Chen Ba Ba and Chen Ma Ma’s questions! At least the first question was easy, right? (Or not!) Chen Ba Ba and Chen Ma Ma were funny though. Cunning questions.

And that was so funny but not unpredictable since the brothers were eavesdropping from the door. They all fell in when Chen Ma Ma opened the door. Almost forgot, that did not include Yu Yi–once again. Come on now, they were spying, of course, they would never include Yu Yi. Need more space to eavesdrop.

But at least Yu Yi did not lose out either since Hui Qi seemed to be getting friendly. Was she seeing him from a different light? Still a cute moment between them. Hui Qi was returning to her angelic state.

Anyway, back to Tao Hua’s room, the others got to be a part of that little ‘trial’ as well since they made themselves comfortable around the room as Chen Ba Ba and Chen Ma Ma continued on with their talk. And that was funny how the parents were giving examples with Qi and Kai Li but he managed to divert it to Cheng right away! Why was he getting fidgety? But thanks to Zhuan for rubbing it in for Cheng and making him even more nervous with all attention on him now!

And what was the big news? Why was Chen Ba Ba acting so strange? Chen Ma Ma was not all words either. Were they letting their children (and Shi Lang) die from the suspense? Eh…they were getting a new sister soon? Wow! Were the other crazy four brothers going to make Yu Yi stay in college to protect her too? He would be WAY old before he graduates then! (JUST KIDDING…) Well, I guess this made up for Qi’s outburst earlier about a baby.

Uh…Cheng, that was a bit OVER. Scoring points with the baby already? So funny of Zhuan to bring out his statistical facts to knock Cheng’s tactic out again. Too bad He’s Bai He (百合 – lily) and Cheng’s Mei Gui (玫瑰 – rose) could not beat Zhuan’s Du Juan (杜鵑 – azalea). It was still funny that they were trying to make reference to Roseate Love. Sometimes there were benefits with being twins since Zhuan had He’s support. Those were all beautiful names though. And that was a mutual agreement among the Chen clan (excluding Yu Yi–poor Yu Yi) and Shi Lang.

But Yu Yi was not at lost or would not regret that opportunity too much since he was given one of the rare chances to be with Hui Qi. It was just them silently working away in the kitchen. Then Hui Qi finally realized how and why Tao Hua was so important to them all. (Yu Yi still managed to sneak in some smart words! She was his sunshine? Okay…) Their little happiness moment was short lived also since Hui Qi wanted to leave, claiming she was not that hungry. Awww…why not, Yu Yi?  Be brave! Or do you need a little push? If only he knew why the others were so happy. It was not because of Shi Lang and Tao Hua’s happiness but it was because they were celebrating about their new sister, Chen Du Juan. (Nice effects with the bubble thing though. That illustrated a lot of how Yu Yi was feeling and it was like he did not belong in their world.)

So after the night full of happiness shared by the Chen clan and Shi Lang (with the exception of Yu Yi of course since he was suffering a heartache), things were back to normal again at the Chen resident. (OR NOT) Why were Cheng and Zhuan eyeing Xiao Mi so suspiciously? And why was Xiao Mi so into eating? What was going on here? And why was He scaring the world out of everyone with his weird rant? Even Qi was alarmed! Still funny!

Zhuan and his little old man philosophy again. No wonder He wanted to take a nap. But Zhuan was so cute with his nerdy glasses though.

Awww…Xiao Du Juan so cute! Their new hope! Xiao Mi’s so emotional! But she was right! Qi was having second thoughts about his brother’s choice of girlfriends? (LOL) Um…so they were bored. Of course, they could not meddle into Shi Lang and Tao Hua’s matter anymore. After all, both already received approval from Chen Ba Ba and Chen Ma Ma. They had Xiao Du Juan but that would be months away. What to do?

The answer came soon after since Qi spotted Yu Yi outside Hui Qi’s house with Little Raindrop. Yes! They found a new project! Nothing earth shattering but it would occupy some of their times while they waited for the arrival of Xiao Du Juan. That was so funny! Little Raindrop betrayed Yu Yi! Yu Yi got exposed! (And even knocked down Hui Qi’s fence.) Even Little Raindrop can take advantage of Yu Yi. But then that earned Yu Yi a smile from Hui Qi so it was not too much of an embarrassment. Um…bizarre imagination from Yu Yi. But he was desperate for attention so that was understandable.

Suddenly Yu Yi was getting popular. Even Xiao Mi was giving him her attention. Of course, Yu Yi had the right to be suspicious of their behaviors. Cheng and his experiences again. Great, Mr. Love Saint. Okay, so they wanted to help? Tough luck! So they were proving that they cared for Yu Yi too? If only they tried harder. Yu Yi saw through their scheme. Yup, too bored so needed something to occupy their time. Good luck convincing Yu Yi otherwise, Qi.

Qi’s status was still intact after all. He guessed right on the first try. But then it was obvious, right? Why else would Yu Yi be so sure? That sent everyone into silence all right. The effect was that strong. Aww…they were so proud of him for having the bravery to confess his love to Hui Qi. At least Xiao Mi was proud of him. The others were just shocked that he was able to do it.

That little speech from Yu Yi was so touching. Though it had been said many times (not in those exact words of course) by other characters in different dramas, JL sounded so sincere that it was so memorable and touching. The others were affected by it also. Not to mention how Qi was so determined to help Yu Yi in courting Hui Qi. It was not about a joke they wanted to play on Yu Yi anymore but actually caring for his well being and his happiness. Yay! Guess that was a start for another Chen clan mission. Their united hands!

On the other hand, Shi Lang and Tao Hua were going shopping for baby clothes. That was funny that they got misunderstood by the salesperson. Yet Shi Lang was not denying anything? Aww…But then he clarified the matter with her later! So funny how he was struggling to explain though. (They were wearing matching outfits! How cute!) Shi Lang was so clueless! That was even cuter.

And now we were back to the maniac brothers with their new schemes. Sun, surf, and sand. A very promising day for the beach, right? Er…wrong. They were up to something again. NOT enjoying the beach like they seemed to let on. That was mean, He, did you had to hit Yu Yi’s head for emphasis? So he was a tad slow but you didn’t have to do that. And then after Zhuan’s statistical lesson and He’s encouragement, everyone could proceed with the next part of their plan. Or not…since the twins were hauled away by a bunch of girls already. So much for it. Must admit that the twins’ tactics were effective though. Since Zhuan was pretending to be the not so strong one (so all the girls could gather around to care for him when he’d fallen) while He was aiming for the cool dude attitude with his cool moves. (Still, poor Yu Yi since the twins tried to divert the girls’ attention on Yu Yi but they did not care for it.)

So Cheng wanted to go slowly before upgrading to those beauties. That might be a better tactic since Yu Yi needed to build his confidence slowly. Aww…no phone number, don’t come back? Did Cheng had to drive the ultimatum? And that was a bit mean that they were laughing at Yu Yi from afar. (Still, need to train him for the first steps.) Yu Yi caught on though since he was not a fool. He only pretended that he did not know. Hope the guys got a backup plan since Yu Yi’s attempt failed major time.

Oops…if only Yu Yi was not as active in convincing the girl. That outta hurt. He got slapped. It was only a misunderstanding.

They were willing to beg Yu Yi to come out? That was a first all right. But it was their fault in a way since they sent him out to court some girls. And then if they weren’t at the beach, that incident didn’t happen. Let’s see how effective they are with mending the situation. Um…Cheng had a point since Hui Qi seemed to care about Yu Yi more now or she would not care to slap him? Great…not very convincing but possible. Why were they treating him like a little kid again? What was that ‘be good’ phrase?

Awww…Rui Sha was back as the lady of his dream! So funny though it was supposed to be a sad moment. Yu Yi was so into his dreamland that he did not care to listen to Tao Hua’s words. That was so funny how the words corresponded to what both girls were saying though. (Both from his main lead and Tao Hua’s that was.) But then it merged into one voice since Yu Yi was like asking his main lead about Shi Lang, lol. That was priceless.

I guess Tao Hua was like their mother in a way that she was more effective than all the guys combined, considering how she went through the same thing so her encouragements were more worth it than the others’ empty talks. She was able to persuade him since her help was better than their useless schemes, right? Still, Yu Yi needed help major time all right. Can’t blame him since he kept getting abandoned hence he was so clueless on matters. Not to mention that was causing a major gap with his confidence.

That was WAY OVER, Cheng. Drawing beard/mustache on Yu Yi. And they still dared to laugh. Like he wasn’t fed up with them already. Extreme Makeover time for Yu Yi. When were they done messing around though since they did not look like they were serious on those attires, right? To top it off, Chen Ma Ma had to put in that comment too. But Yu Yi was cute in that outfit though!

Finally showtime. They were actually serious about the outfit? But Hui Qi did smile upon seeing it. That was a start all right. IF only he caught on faster to Cheng’s words. Funny how the other Chen clan were in the car on standby. Zhuan and his binoculars! He had a point. Yu Yi was usually talkative about various subjects, why was he all tongue-tied now? But then he recited the wrong line! Cheng was actually answering the phone call and not prompting Yu Yi. Didn’t Yu Yi realize how weird it would’ve sounded? Hui Qi caught on! It was too obvious not to. But she agreed! That was a start! How funny that he wanted to come and pick her up. They lived across the street, don’t they? Honestly. Chen Ba Ba and Chen Ma Ma were as cute, observing in the house with Qi. They were one family all right. (Even if they were a bit strange.)

Aww…how cute! They were trying to dodge Yu Yi! Don’t let Hui Qi see them? Er…I think that already happened.

The big day…errr…night finally arrived. Yu Yi looked so handsome. (The makeover worked after all. The others weren’t joking about helping him.) But then we have to wait for the next episode before knowing the outcome of the date.

Sadly to say, ratings have dropped again for this episode to .67. A bit longer than the usual 1 hour and 24 minutes since it was like 1 hour and 34 minutes for this episode. Still good though since there was more to see.

Momo Love: Episode 10

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD. If you DO NOT want to be spoiled, please DO NOT read. You have been warned.

This episode continued with Zhuan, He, and Yu Yi discovering someone lurking in the dark and spying on them. It was none other than Xue Zhi Qiang–as we saw in the previous episode. He was in for good since He got his hands on him now–literally. What explanation would he give them then? And I guess he wasn’t any more original than that was expected of him since he rattled off the most typical answer and also the most unbelievable answer that was to utter out. Like Zhuan and He were going to fall for that.

And that was the wrong answer as well. What? This Xue Zhi Qiang dude was in deep trouble already. He dug a deeper hole for himself than he was able to imagine. It was so funny how all three Chen brothers were answering to his question in that harmonious tone. I guess in the matters in regard to Tao Hua’s safety, they were considered unified.

More stalker alert time! Aww…Shi Lang so protective of Tao Hua. And wait the minute, how did that turn into a Xue Zhi Qiang protecting Tao Hua scene? Eh…scene snatcher dude! Lucky Tao Hua had a big mouth so she was able to call for help! More Shi Lang protective scenes instead of the usual crazy brothers’ protective scenes. But then Shi Lang had to make sure Tao Hua was all right. He left the torturing task to Cheng instead.

I think they had more than enough people around to protect Tao Hua so who needed Xue Zhi Qiang anyway? Okay, maybe someone but Tao Hua had more than enough protectors as of that moment that all the brothers were united–along with Shi Lang.

So when the others were still sorting out the matter and Zhi Qiang was actively convincing Shi Lang and Cheng of his actual good intention, Cheng heard some noises and made the others quiet down so they could investigate further. They actually found a lurker outside and Tao Hua was a scaredy cat all right! Poor Yu Yi! (But why did he have to tap on Tao Hua’s shoulder at such a time?) It was a rare time again that they were gathered around all worried about Yu Yi’s well-being. Then Zhuan, He, and Xiao Mi returned, allowing Cheng to have more allies to chase after that stalker. Three against one, lurker, watch out! The chase was on! (And how was He and Xiao Mi still able to hold hands in such times? Come on now, this was a chase! Still funny and cute though.)

And the fake ghost was revealed to be none other than Hui Qi. Who else, right? They did not tell others about their trip except for Hui Qi–who probably told Zhi Qiang about it. It was expected that she wanted to scare Tao Hua out of her wits. And why was she running? Was she only capable of underhand tricks and not capable of facing the consequences?

Eh…He losing his cool? Well, can’t blame him since Qi was the scariest among the brothers after all. Who could forget Qi’s threatening glares, right? So cute to see He and Xiao Mi always holding hands regardless of wherever they were though. Luckily Zhuan came to their rescue with his secured plan to save everyone from Qi’s attacks. (We’ll see if it works.)

So while the others were carrying out the plan, Tao Hua realized Yu Yi was missing. Didn’t he tell them it was not safe to be wandering around in the middle of the night? (At least that was what the old man told him.) How could he risk his safety like that? Was he practicing with the whole idea of dying because of the girl? Okay…hopefully it would be worth it since Yu Yi was really risking his life this time around. I knew it wasn’t Hui Qi. She usually yelled at him, not stay quiet like that when he kept talking. Eh…so he was another one of those lovesick nuts? At least they get to eat. (Or not.)

Shi Lang and Tao Hua finally arrived at the location where Yu Yi and Hui Qi were captured. Shi Lang had to ask further? And they were captured as well. To look on the bright side, at least they were tied up in pairs. (Was that even a reason to be happy about? Since they were in danger after all.)

Anyway, day finally arrived and they witnessed a touching scene between Dan Dan (their captor) and Lulu (who he claimed to be his girlfriend). If that was a good time to stare in awe. There seemed to be a difference in opinions since Tao Hua looked almost touched or amazed by it while Yu Yi was not as in favor of the pairing. Though he did manage to take advantage of the situation to chant about love’s power. And spoke too soon again, these two were too much! Poor Shi Lang, Tao Hua, Yu Yi, and possibly Hui Qi too for witnessing such a scene. (Get a grip already!)

Some admittance from Hui Qi? At least she was not beyond cure then, considering how she was a bit more gentle toward Yu Yi at last. At least she began to realize how good Yu Yi was. What a time for a confession too! (This is beginning to remind me of some wuxia series instead of the typical romance drama. LOL!) More daydreaming scenes! This was getting crazier by the moment. I didn’t realize she was supposed to be Audrey Hepburn in the black and white film! Pretty cool! Charlie Chaplin and Audrey Hepburn? Nice… And Hui Qi getting deep? Wow… Too bad a confession turned into a rejection. At least she was honest about it.

What?! Dan Dan and Lulu eavesdropped on them? That was soooo wrong! Couldn’t believe Yu Yi did not have any privacy, even during his confession. But can’t argue with them since Dan Dan still had the gun.

Okay, so much for finding professional help. And He still found the time to be all closed to Xiao Mi? (They were always like that so I should not be surprised anymore.) It was his first day? Not to mention that Zhuan had to remind him about turning it on! Lucky Tao Hua finally called them or they would’ve gone bonkers and murdered the other dude already! Honestly!

How in the world did a kidnapping situation turn into a friendly gathering? They were having a picnic in the middle of nowhere? Okay… And I thought it was getting intense and creating more dramas. Phew! More time for He and Xiao Mi to act all close! And that was strange seeing how Hui Qi was shutting Yu Yi up before the other dude caught on to what he was saying. (This time it was more out of concern than the usual shutting him up because she was annoyed. Something different indeed.) They were sitting in pairs again! More cuteness! Can’t believe Dan Dan was even slower than Yu Yi!

Whoa! That was scary! That cop was a maniac in disguised? What in the world was he doing? He should’ve investigated first before shooting! Crazy!

The scene we saw in the previews was actually caused by the cop (ironically) instead of the supposed kidnapper. So sudden though…

I have to agree with Zhuan about the matter though since if it wasn’t for the cop shooting like a maniac, things wouldn’t happen. Couldn’t he see them having a picnic right there? Why in the world would they gather around like that if the other dude was of threats? Anyway, great to see Cheng and Xiao Xue’s silent communication method. (Often seen with husband and wife! And he was wearing that shirt, hinting much?) Xiao Xue accepted Tao Hua? Yay! (Though it was seen in the last episode of the changed attitude too but having some real recognition like that was better.) Spoke too soon again since they were being spied on! LOL!

While that was going on, Yu Yi was regretting about his confession since he was put in an awkward position now. Somehow, he was left out on the ‘hero saving the beauty’ scene again. Why was everyone so nicely paired off again? Poor Yu Yi was actually sitting next to Hui Qi but was not able to enjoy the moment. But then he realized someone was missing! Ekk! They forgot about Xue Zhi Qiang! Come on now, Shi Lang was in a critical condition, who in the world would care so much? (Best answer, Cheng!) For once, Yu Yi was not left behind but someone else who was less important to them.

So what actually happened to Xue Zhi Qiang? He was still stuck at that place! What else? Serves him right for stalking them! No signal and no GPS, tough luck! Uh…I think you have to get out of there before you could get back at anyone. Have fun with the wolves!

So life resumed at the Chen resident with Qi back into the scene. How funny that Qi and Zhuan were signaling to each other when they saw Yu Yi staring at Hui Qi. What were they up to this time? So much for a cheerful smile because Yu Yi was in for some disappointment once again. No harm done. He’ll live. (And was that Little Raindrop with them outside?)

The task of watching Yu Yi’s behaviors dropped as soon as Tao Hua arrived on the scene. Too bad Qi had to wait until next year! LOL! Poor Zhuan got shot down also since he was just trying to be supportive but Qi had to reply with “Who wants to go with you?” Oh well, Zhuan tried.

A very familiar scene at meal time since Tao Hua was missing again yet Cheng and He had no idea. They kept rambling on. So oblivious to Qi and Zhuan’s morbid expressions. It was funny that they were on the out this time and not Yu Yi. In fact, Yu Yi was the one who had to enlighten Cheng and He out of their trance since Qi and Zhuan did not bother to clarify anything for them. It was only until then that Cheng turned to Qi for verification and Qi nodded. Why do I have a feeling like they’re back to their schemes again since Shi Lang was taking their precious sister’s time away from them? Were they too dramatic? (Not out of their characters though.) Zhuan did not want to eat breakfast anymore while Qi was still mumbling about having to wait for another year. They were all attached at this point, so why were they so down? They could come up with some dating plans! No wait, Zhuan and Yu Yi were still single.

Uh…what baby? Funny how the others were giving him weird looks. He was kidding? Drama King all right! And how clueless could Yu Yi get? He was forgetting his place again! Didn’t he see their murderous expressions?

What? New game? Yay! At least they got something to occupy their time now. Cheng was confident all right. He just grabbed the keyboard out of Zhuan’s hand and typed away. Too bad it wasn’t him. Qi was mean to laugh at him though! Cheng’s turn to not be able to get over something! Yu Yi was also laughing nearby though. (Did he get that from Qi?) Next… Qi had a point though since Tao Hua did sacrifice her happiness for his job. He had a higher chance, right? And one more down! So much for trying to be #1. Cheng got his revenge! And more laughing as Zhuan failed too! Zhuan, how could you say that about your twin though? But Zhuan had a point since they shared the same birthday! Of course, it wasn’t him! Ooooohhh, so the reason Yu Yi was maintaining that secretive smile was because he knew it was him! So Yu Yi’s birthday was April’s fool! But he was so unlucky to have the joke on him always though. And it worked! Come on now, what did they expect? Yu Yi even stayed behind a year just for Tao Hua’s sake. (Yeah, the others contributed a lot over the years too, but it was Yu Yi who suffered the most through their bullying.) Nicely done with all the flashbacks of their past shared memories.

So they dropped the plan to bully Yu Yi since they realized there was no point? The game did not cheer them up at all but had sent them down further to morbid-land. They were back to being Drama Kings also. Uh…He, that was going to solve the problem?

So after a heated debate (or not so heated since only the heated moment was when He threw the monitor), Qi called for votes. Qi was cunning all right since he saw He’s expression with staring Yu Yi down but did not say anything. Then he just raised his hand just like that! Yu Yi was very happy in raising his hand while Cheng and Zhuan were not that happy but still agreed for the best. He was badly outnumbered! No wonder he was pissed off.

And they have turned into pussycats again as they were notified about their mother’s e-mail. But she was scary all right! Even He was not so fierce anymore.

So Tao Hua arrived home to an empty house. Well, not so empty since He was still around looking all shattered. (Or what it seemed to be.) Why was he being sneaky about the matter though? So he was having second thoughts whether to agree with the others or not? More sneaking around? All right… It was only Cheng, why was he so scared? Or did he need some privacy? I had to agree with Tao Hua this time with He’s weird questions. How could it be compared? More running…great…all we need was more suspense. (Note the sarcasm!) It was only Yu Yi! How could He be scared of Yu Yi too? That was strange. Awww…..so He was so sweet and has such a soft heart but he didn’t want to be all weak in front of the others! He just wanted to make sure that Tao Hua was happy. And then they were running again. This time from Qi! They had a big house all right! They kept sneaking around but didn’t get caught yet. I knew there was a catch! It was too easy! And He, how could you forget? Tao Hua was afraid of knives! (Well, sharp objects actually.) He had a point though. What would Tao Hua do in the future? She had to conquer her fears! (Or would she want to bring her brother along when she gets married too? LOL!)

Tao Hua and her daydreaming! How could she? But that was too tempting since they were on the subject. Awww…they were so cute as a married couple! Well, nice thought! Yes, Tao Hua, pay attention! He was trying to be serious and considerate here! Not his usual tempers and attitudes…

Eh…Zhuan was stalking Tao Hua? But then Tao Hua was trying to cheat. She was avoiding dishes without needing knives for it? Great… Zhuan’s turn to be sneaky. No wonder Zhuan and He were twins since they had some similarities after all. So that was Zhuan’s deal. Tao Hua had to achieve 80% in each class to get his acceptance? Great…why wasn’t Shi Lang doing anything? (It was something different though since the girl was the one jumping through the hoops this time and not the guy like other typical dramas.) At least that got Tao Hua motivated all right. Um…what was with everyone and one month? But then again, were they just using this technique to wear Tao Hua down and in the end separate her and Shi Lang? Anything was possible, right? Or were they getting back at Tao Hua for not putting them as #1? Hard to tell.

Phew! That was a close one! How could Tao Hua! Almost gave Yu Yi and Xiao Mi a heart attack. Lucky Shi Lang came to everyone’s rescue. Yup, she was trying all right. If only she succeed or they would suffer in vain. Can’t blame Shi Lang for being suspicious of the twin since it was really strange.

After a day of work/classes, the Chen brothers were back at it. Tao Hua and Yu Yi arrived home in time to see another argument unfold. So just as Tao Hua rescued the twins from the other two’s grasp, they managed to steer their attention back on Yu Yi. Here we go again indeed. Great time to bring out the excuse of being twins also, Zhuan.

I thought they already did the vote, how come Qi and Cheng were so fierce toward the twins? Or were they just pissed off that they weren’t included in the plan? Seeing Qi’s expression was priceless though since he had to grasp the concept of Tao Hua leaving them one day. (Like the sound effects also! It was effective all right!) But no wait, Qi and Cheng got it! I knew it was something else! Lucky Qi stopped Cheng in time. (Probably saving it for their meeting in their headquarter.) It was smart of Tao Hua all right to ask for proofs! She definitely needed that since they were always so cunning.

And what was Qi doing? His expression always sent chills down my back. Honestly, what was behind that door? Tao Hua can’t back down now! So cruel of Qi! But must admit he was effective all right with his tactic. That was even harder than Zhuan and He’s demands. Control those two monsters? Impossible! Time for a miracle now!

Spoke too soon yet again. It was Cheng’s turn and what was the task? Something related to his job of course! Good luck, Tao Hua! She had to turn into a Superwoman for this or something. It was a bad idea after all to have so many brothers. But it was not her fault, right? She did not have the chance to choose.

The others still had time to rub it in? Zhuan had to expose Cheng! Cheng only wanted it for himself! LOL! What was that? Cheng told the others to go buy it themselves? Nice comeback!

It served them right for coming up with so many obstacles since they were digging their own graves. Tao Hua was still up at 3 and Zhuan couldn’t sleep? That was funny all right! Cheng couldn’t concentrate either! Qi was suffering as equally as the other two since he was up as well. After plugging his ears with cotton balls and covering his eyes, he was still not able to sleep. So it was He’s fault? Okay…

Eh…why was Shi Lang bullying Yu Yi? Oh…he was only trying to find out the truth so he could help Tao Hua. Shi Lang was getting braver all right. He even dared to go question He on the matter. The others were present as well so it increased his chance of danger. Oh well, it was time he stepped up and took care of matters. (LOL) Awww…it was so cute to see He being so proud of his culinary skills. Yu Yi making a fuss over not getting food? It was getting interesting again. (Not that it wasn’t before.) So the truth was revealed, at last, causing more heart-wrenching scenes. How could they?

Rising back up to .84. Still time but it would take a miracle to see something major happening. Still hopeful though. Three more episodes.

Momo Love: Episode 9

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD. If you DO NOT want to be spoiled, please DO NOT read. You have been warned.

After the Chen brothers had a little nonsense fight to ease the mood off, they sent Yu Yi to the park to confide with Tao Hua. Tao Hua finally admitted to Yu Yi of her speedy decision of marrying Zhi Qiang. Yu Yi was once again made to not tell the others yet he really wanted to. Then Tao Hua received some text messages from her brother with their well-wishing and last words of hoping that she had made the right decision and that it was for her happiness. It was indeed another touching moment of their siblings’ bonding.

Apparently, Yu Yi had rescued Tao Hua’s treasure box from the bottom of the lake and brought it to Shi Lang’s house. He tried to explain and how Tao Hua was very sad regarding the matter as well. Shi Lang made a comeback by pointing out that he was not feeling so good himself either. Yu Yi understood so he did not say any more except to turn the treasure box over to Shi Lang. Shi Lang opened the box and saw its contents, realizing how important he was to Tao Hua. However, he was not able to change the situation anyway.

Shi Lang’s father witnessed the whole scene and realized how much his son was going through. They had a heartfelt talk and it was also revealed how Shi Lang’s mother left. Shi Lang’s father also gave him some advice, hinting subtly at the current situation. Still, it said a lot about their father and son relationship–unlike some previous random comedic moments from earlier episodes.

The big day finally came. However, only Qi and Yu Yi accompanied Tao Hua since Cheng and the others claimed they were in no shape to come. The reason? They could not guarantee they would be able to control their temper if they were present.

Qi was not able to stand it anymore since it was already an unsaid thing that none of the Chen clan was happy about the whole matter. He once again confronted Tao Hua, knowing she was lying since he was her brother, after all, right? How could he not spot her lying? Yu Yi jumped in to tell Qi, at last, telling Tao Hua that he (Yu Yi) was also her brother so it was only right that he cared as much as the others.

Learning the truth behind Tao Hua’s agreement to the wedding, Qi rushed into the main hall to call off the arrangements and walked off after his speech about the importance of family and happiness. It was really Qi’s moment all right since he really proved his brotherly love toward Tao Hua but also the others as well and he was proud of it.

Zhi Qiang was as surprised as the others about Qi’s outburst (well except for his father who planned the whole thing so it was obvious the old man knew) but was glad Qi called it off. After all, he would rather use his own capabilities to win over a girl than this tactic.

While that was going on, Shi Lang was thinking over some last minute thoughts before leaving with Hui Qi. However, Hui Qi sensed his current mood and did not want to force him into going with her at last. It was only ten more minutes before they had to board the train. It was up to him really to come or not.

As Shi Lang was thinking things over, Yu Yi finally spoke up about Shi Lang and Hui Qi’s plan. He earned some scolding from Qi but they did not have much time to argue over. Qi grabbed Tao Hua and ran out the door as Yu Yi was retrieving Tao Hua’s wedding dress. On the road, they were experiencing bad luck since they kept running into red lights. However, they did not give up since they were the Chen clan after all. It seemed like Tao Hua was always the one doing the chasing. But it was appropriate this time since she was the one who severed the tie this time around–though it was not her fault totally.

They arrived at the train station at last. Qi used his speed to get them to the correct area but was too late because the train had taken off. Devastated, Tao Hua broke down. (Not really but it seemed hopeless.) They continued to stay at the station since it was too late and mourned over the lost chance.

Qi was back to himself again after restoring his breath with some water. He immediately told Tao Hua that they would buy some train tickets so they could follow Shi Lang. Yu Yi volunteered readily to do the task. Qi also walked away to take care of the necessities as Tao Hua continued to sit at the chair.

A miracle of all miracles happened and unknown to others, but Shi Lang appeared right behind Tao Hua as she was still lost in thoughts. The funniest thing was that Shi Lang was tapping on her shoulder from behind. How cute was that? Was Shi Lang learning to loosen up despite the situation? Or he already knew that he had won? Awww…

And things went back to normal as if it had never happened. Yu Yi was still on standby to watch over Tao Hua but at a safe distance this time around. Even Mr. Tough Guy Chen He was preparing a specialty for Shi Lang. Things were getting even better.

Maybe Hui Qi was not as bad as she seemed after all. Perhaps it was all those times spent with Shi Lang when they were little that she did not want to let go of. Childhood memories were best, weren’t they? After all, she did make clear that she wanted to pursue her happiness. It wasn’t the best ways, but she tried. Seeing her smiled when Yu Yi sang for her made her seemed like any normal girl once again. Maybe this would be a start for them also. (JL has a nice voice indeed!)

Then the Chen household was back to normal again as they resumed their duties around the house. Not to mention goofing off. The atmosphere had gone up a few notches with everyone in high spirits for various reasons. Everyone was present during meal time–unlike other occasions where they did not care to come to the table. Even Yu Yi was included when Chef He rang his bell and called for attention. What more could they ask for, right?

Well…maybe even more good news since Qi was seen on TV once again. It seemed like his luck turned for the better–not like what they had dreaded. Everyone was drowned in happiness with so much good news around them, but what about Yu Yi? He had to go back to his old days of being their slave since he was sent out to dispose of trash once again. But fate was not too cruel to him because he managed to run into Hui Qi and had a chat–though not a really nice one since she was back to her old mean self again. (It couldn’t be helped.) But she was not the meanest because Mr. Director was the one who tossed his trash bag right smack into Yu Yi! Director Winnie, how could you? (Still funny to see him portray another role in here.)

Another day and another date. Tao Hua was getting ready to look her best, but Yu Yi was not any help. Yu Yi, you need to concentrate! You’re not helping. But that was really funny how he said that she was just going over to Shi Lang for dinner, not like she was going on “One Million Stars”–good one all right.

As for Shi Lang’s side, Shi Lang was still clueless of what to wear when he dropped all things in hand because he saw his father walking in all dressed up. That was a bit over all right. They might as well be going to his wedding.

Errr…stop being a Drama King, Shi Ba Ba! But that was a really good one too. How could Shi Lang, right? Had to straighten Shi Lang out with his priorities there.

Okay, he was getting overly friendly. But still, that was really cute. Shi Lang and Tao Hua were matching! Wow!

I thought Xiao Xue was already warming up to Tao Hua. Why was she ignoring Tao Hua? Was it because of Cheng’s mishaps then? Still nice to see her back into the scenes since I rather see her fierce attitude than Hui Qi’s schemes.

Lucky Shi Ba Ba came to the rescue with his overly friendliness again. He was just so lovable with his attempts to disarm all of Xiao Xue’s attacks.

Xiao Mi was with them once again as they were riding on the bus. She was chatting on and on regarding matters. Probably affected by their good moods. Xiao Mi excitedly declared to them that she would succeed in pursuing He. Somehow, the topic of Hui Qi came up and Tao Hua told them about how she got along fine with Hui Qi at the beginning and expressed that she wanted to mend their problems. Hui Qi was after all Shi Lang’s childhood friend so it made sense to make peace with her, right?

Before Tao Hua was able to make her move, Yu Yi already made his. He was once again trying to pursue Hui Qi. But this time, it was more like helping her out of concern and not really wanting to move in on her so fast just like that. But he just made a mistake, just like how Zhuan did once upon a time in regard to Tao Hua. How could he mention those words? People who go through those times do not want to be reminded of it.

When all else seemed to fit right back into its place, Zhi Qiang was seen lurking around once again. It seemed like trouble would also stir up some more like last time. One cannot be too happy about the current state. What was Zhi Qiang up to then? But was he just bluffing? Or he was just going insane? Even his imagination was quite bizarre.

What was Tao Hua up to this time? Oh…she was just trying to sharpen up her culinary skills after that embarrassing moment at Shi Lang’s house last time. Though Shi Ba Ba and Shi Lang didn’t mind, it was still something to think about. Before she was able to get her brothers to sample ’em, Yu Yi walked in. And before she was able to persuade him to be her lab rat, Cheng and Zhuan already tasted it. Their reaction was positive! Did Tao Hua have a knack for it then? Or was she just lucky? Nah…that was not the point! Tao Hua was trying to carry out her plan! What culinary skills? She needed to figure out more important matters!

So Cheng, Zhuan, and He were forced to help Qi with some activities while Yu Yi was relief of it since he had to maintain his duty of watching over Tao Hua. That created an opportunity for them since they sneaked off to go on a trip of their own. As they were settling in, Yu Yi went outside for some fresh air and discovered a lurker. However, Shi Lang dispelled of his suspicion and called him back in. It looked like Zhi Qiang! So he was following them? Was that what he meant by ‘protecting Tao Hua’? Crazy dude! Just because he has those thoughts did not mean Shi Lang was like that.

As fate would have it, the consequence was brought upon them when they were out for a walk along the train tracks. Well, at least for Yu Yi since it was their crazy brothers spotting them. Yu Yi was really psychic! He was able to summon them just by thinking of them! (Although Yu Yi Ge didn’t sound so bad! LOL! Love He for that!)

Exactly, why were they there again? Weren’t they supposed to help Qi with his tasks? Zhuan tongue-tied moment. Gotta love that! Eh…Xiao Mi was also there? It was getting interesting by the minute. In fact, by the second.

It kept getting more and more interesting…so Cheng and Xiao Xue were meeting! Yu Yi was always the one discovering interesting things. Perhaps they should capture that incidental moment and use it for the future to their advantage!

Zhuan had a better idea than just capturing that moment. He decided to sabotage them! Love Zhuan! It was their once in a lifetime chance! Of course, they had to tease Cheng all the way! Not to mention the ice queen!

So everyone was coming out with their secrets! Poor Zhuan though! But he looked awesome with the glasses! How could Xiao Xue shot him down like that?

Their happiness as one big family was ruined by strange occurrences though. It seemed like someone wanted to fool around with them. Or more specifically, Tao Hua. She was the only person who was able to see the so-called “ghost” while Yu Yi was the only one who was aware of someone spying on them from afar. Yu Yi finally convinced Zhuan and He to go check it out. It was the only way to get rid of the suspicion. And their investigation wasn’t in vain since they managed to uncover the hand behind those strange occurrences. But was he the only one or were there any accomplices?

Went up by .02 points but not much of a help since it was only .69 for this episode.
