Status of Fan Fiction XVIII

So this is another fan fic update although I’m nowhere near making any sort of progress except for like one. The total number is now 45. It’s because I took “Slanted Thoughts 2” out. So let’s move forward to see what sort of progress I made, right?

Past Fan Fic(s):

Slanted Thoughts 2 – 2 Votes – YES, it’s finished. At long last and WAY overdue too. Yet I did it. Glad that I waited as well.

Current Fan Fics:

Hide & Seek – 21 Votes – STILL NOT DONE! Yeah, I know people who are waiting are so disappointed or beyond outrage at my progress. But I seriously am stuck and I decided at one point to kill all the characters and finish it off. BUT I know that’s just my frustration talking so will wait a little to see if I could turn it around.

Honey In Tea – 4 Votes – Still stuck, two more votes, and I’m so dead meat with some people. But like that’s news. It’s okay though. I’m willing to wait it out.

Neurotic: Tainted World – On hold, obviously.

Payback – 1 Vote – Guess what? I think it might be moving forward again. No promises though. ‘Cause I wrote the last chapter already. So as long as I know what happens in the end, I could work my way back. Hopefully posting the next chapter sometime this coming week. Yet no promises though.

Stranded – 0 Votes – Guess what? I came up with a new solution. I might be merging this into “The Other Extreme“. This means that this will be on the same timeline as TOE. It’s because I thought I could make it different than just some stranded on some island theme. But the characters from TOE might not appear. Since their story is done.

The Business – 0 Votes – Um, I was on a roll for a while and then I had to put it aside again. It didn’t come out as I expected so I had to step back and think about it a bit before continuing on. But I did write the ending already so I will continue to work my way toward that one.

The Dating Game 5 – 1 Vote – Somehow, I’m stuck. I forgot to put some details in and then I decided to just axe it out. I might backtrack though since it seems anti-climatic the way it is now. NOT sure. But this part will be like the last few parts aka being 15 chapters. So let’s see, 8 chapters already, I only have about 6 and a half to go. Yes, I wrote the ending already. It seems like it’s how I work these past few months.

One-shots is now at 18. Maybe I’ll write one for this Christmas. NOT sure.

Tagged, On The Receiving End

Okay, remember how the last time I did that one post about tags? (Go here if you don’t remember.) Yeah, this time, it’s about the tags that are showing up on the stats page because people have been searching for it. Nice?

stats

Taiwanese Entertainment – No surprise. The majority of my blog is about it. BUT it doesn’t mean that’s it. There are other things too.

Tutorials/Weibo  – Honestly, I wish it would go away but I guess it’s impossible. I wish to see other tags/categories dominate the hit counts, etc.

Mainland China Entertainment – Um, yeah, aside from TW stuffs, I get carried away in those productions of recent years. But I usually shuffle anyway. Last year, I blogged a lot more regarding those so it’s not surprising about the hits.

Hong Kong Entertainment – I slowed down already. I did. Considering how it’s getting lamer and lamer lately. It’s not even funny but I’ll check out some stuffs in the future if I somehow find time.

Fahrenheit – Blame it on my Momo Love posts, and somewhat of the pairing up with some of my favorites regarding to fan fics.

Jia Qing – Not surprising, considering how I covered a bunch of dramas that she filmed last year. And interestingly enough, I click on it just to check how many posts she has, I realized I had watched her in the past already, way before The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils 2013. It was just that I didn’t remember. She was in Liao Zhai 2, the Lian Xiang story. Nice? I guess there are always surprises. LOL!

Tang Jia Hao/Tang Feng/Denny Tang Feng – The one and the same. I didn’t change his English name yet for the category. But oh well. I lagged behind on some of his stuffs because I got bored, lol. But glad he’s still popular with online presence and all.

Ye Jia Yu – Yeah, my other favorite ‘Xiao Yu’. If you noticed, I’m using her picture as my avatar right now. Nice? I hope to update even more stuffs in the future. Especially how I have to finish the Love Together episode summaries.

FTV – No surprise it has a lot of hits since I did blog about the station for a while.

This reflects the popularity around Feb 28. It will probably change from time to time, depending on what people are searching for. But if something totally random pops up or worth an update, I’ll hop back to talk about it more. Anyway, this is just a little snippet and not really specific search terms or anything. But still fun to see which of my tags/categories are more popular.

Status of Fan Fiction XVI

When was the last time I updated on this? It was March of last year. I felt it was suitable since I didn’t make as much progress as I had thought. However, I think it’s almost a year now so I’ll go ahead. Vote count is now 43. I took TDG4 out, that’s the only difference.

Past Fan Fic(s):

The Dating Game 4 – 5 Votes – YES, it’s done. It’s been done ages back. Interestingly, that was the only one I managed to move forward last year.

Current Fan Fics:

Hide & Seek – 21 Votes – Almost finished! I need to write 1 1/2 chapters more then it’s done.

Honey In Tea – 2 Votes – Interestingly, vote counts went up slightly for this one. And one more came in recently. Possibly because of Joe and Janine’s latest collaboration? I’ll try to get back into it after I finish H&S.

Neurotic: Tainted World – Will try to get this going again. I already got the ending. Like usual, I work backward. So yeah…

Payback – 1 Vote – I’m actually trying to work the plot a bit more. I seriously don’t want it to turn corny so still working around the plot and making it stronger. It’s hard.

Slanted Thoughts 2 – 2Votes – I’m almost finished. Just need to write it out since I planned the ending already. YES, it’s almost done. A little bit more tweaking.

Upcoming Fan Fics:

Fresh Essence – This won’t launch until WAY later. Not because I have too much on my plate right now. I do, but it’s just that I worked this into a special collection so it  got shuffled into a later time than initially. So yeah.

Gossip Mill – Of course this will get pushed back as well. It’s okay. I had to put it aside anyway. It might go away. NOT sure how it goes.

The Dating Game 5 – I’m not going to post it yet since I’m only in the initial stage. Though I got some parts of the plot worked out but I’m not going to get happy too early like what I did for the previous part and ended up leaving some readers who actually tuned in hanging.

One-shots is now at 17. I finally got out another one-shot so that was something. Mostly, thanks to class that I was forced to write. But not too bad.

Tagged, You’re It!

I don’t know what’s the purpose of this post, but it’s just another excuse for me being random, I guess. But anyway, like the title said, it’s about tags. Since I usually hide my tags, this is what this post is all about. Yes, me sharing the most popular tags circulating my blog.

tags

So let’s get started on the top ones. I know it seems obvious with who’s leading by looking at ‘Categories’, but the ‘Categories’ count is misleading. It’s because sometimes I tag people or topics but I don’t put it in ‘Categories’ because it belongs to ‘General’ only or such. So in this post, I will disclose the exact number as of the time of the cap above (which is actually Friday, January 24th in case anyone wants to keep track). I’ll list it backwards so it would get even more exciting to see who’s the real winner, lol.

183 Club – 31 posts

Novia Lin, Su Yan Pei, Wilber Pan – 32 posts

Shen Shi Peng – 34 posts

Ai Cheng, Hu Ge – 37 posts

Becky Chang – 38 posts

Calvin Chen – 40 posts

Chen Bo Han – 43 posts

Dian Wan Da Lian Meng (Game Union) – 44 posts

Angela Chang – 45 posts

Ady An, Pan Bo Xi – 46 posts

Derek Chen, Ye Jia Yu – 47 posts

Jiro Wang, Lin Dao Yuan, Li Xing Wen, Nicholas Teo – 48 posts

Hao Zi , Xia Zheng Feng, Yao Yuan Hao – 49 posts

Ah Xiang, Debbie Huang – 50 posts

Ah Gan, Liu Xiang Ci, Qian Jun Zhong – 51 posts

Fahrenheit – 52 posts

Fu Zi Chun – 53 posts

Pang Yong Zhi aka Ah Pang – 54

TVB – 64 posts

Cyndi Wang – 72 posts

Wallace Huo – 73 posts

Rookies’ Diary – 84 posts

Jacky Chu – 97 posts

FTV – 98 posts

Joanne Zeng aka Qiao Qiao – 107 posts

Denny Tang Feng (Tang Jia Hao) – 112 posts

Achel Chang/ Zhang Xin Yu aka Xiao Xiao Yu – 125 posts

AND THE GRAND WINNER IS

Zhao Jun Ya

WITH 128 POSTS

Who knew, right? Well, I sort of knew he was one of the top 5. Yet I didn’t realize he ended up leading. Nice?

What about the others? It’s obvious from the majority of the people, it was because of Rookies’ Diary at one point that cranked the stats up for them. 43 episodes and they ended up with lots and lots of posts. It’s the same for some others, as long as I do some episode summary or recaps of stuffs, they would benefit from it. However, the ones truly gaining posts because I had posted about them since the beginning are Xiao Xiao Yu, Tang Feng, Qiao Qiao, Jacky, Wallace, Cyndi, Nic, Ady, Angela, Hu Ge, and 183 Club. Calvin and Jiro only came into the picture in later years since I wasn’t that into Fahrenheit from the start, considering how some fans were scaring me away more than get into them. Too bad Chun didn’t make it into the most used tags because he only has 9 posts. YES, sadly. But not too bad since it was partially due to my laziness with updating on him. And yeah, same with Will as in he came into the picture later for me than the initial obsessions with some people.

So, talking about the top 5, excluding FTV (since I already explained how it had to do with their dramas), what about them? Jacky made it, Wallace didn’t, why? Um, like I mentioned many times before, I listen to music more than watch stuffs. Wallace just got really unlucky because at times, I couldn’t find time to catch up on his stuffs or I decided to give up. *shrugs* Jacky’s posts only slowed down when I was so mad at him that I didn’t want to bother anymore. Yet he always managed to find his way back into my posts somehow. (YES, he’s evil. He knows some voodoo OR something.) Moving on, it’s too obvious that Qiao Qiao would gain so many posts on my blog, but what was surprising was finding out she lost to Tang Feng. Then I realized the same thing that had happened with most of the people mentioned here. Rookies’ Diary happened, lol. Have no fear though, several more posts then Qiao Qiao would pass him to claim the 3rd spot. (LOL!) Now, about the little fish, lol. Xiao Xiao Yu had a lot of advantage because of the amount of summary posts I did. She would have more if I had continued on with updating some of the summaries. Yet that’s not too bad with being in the 2nd spot–only 3 posts behind Jun Ya. And talking about Jun Ya, how in the world did it happen with me only blogging about him since like 3 years ago? I don’t know. It just happened. I only managed to slow down a tad because I got occupied with other real life matters, and then there was the whole thing about his dramas being a tad vague like for the last bit of 2013. Yeah, he practically fell off the radar after Lucky Touch though I did hear some new drama in progress at that time, but I wasn’t too sure. It wasn’t until now that I could be sure of something and could continue with updates again. In fact, there are several posts in the background regarding him but I still haven’t gotten around to it yet. At least not in a sense of a good post. But as I’m writing this, I realize before this post publishes, Jun Ya will jump up 5 more totaling his posts count to 133. So yes, he will continue to lead even though Achel, Joanne, and Jacky will jump up in posts as well.

Oh yeah, I initially didn’t want to tag them in this post since it would be too funny. It’s like “Are you kidding me? Tag them in the tag post?” kind of thing. But I decided to tag them anyway, but will minus one the next time I update on the tags again. Nice? So see you next time! Whenever that is that I feel crazy enough to get random about tags again. But I probably will only update on the top 10, and it will be on people, skipping topics/titles/station names. And who will gain the upper hand with the next update? Who knows?

‘Tis The Season To Change Your Name

This post is actually long overdue BUT I got held up with lots of other stuffs that I ended up pushing it back for this one. Anyway, just when I was blogging about Tang Feng’s new English name acquired by one of his teachers around the lunar new year time frame, I later found out several more people have changed their names. It could have been a coincidence but still thought it was quite funny.  (Go here for the Tang Feng post.)

The first up, how could anyone forget this one since the mockery was so high, right?  Go here for further details since I’m lazy to recount it. Not to mention how I feel it’s a joke. And it’s not because I disrespect his mother’s last name, but I felt the name was even plainer than his real name in regards to “You Tian”.

Next up, Cynthia Wang Xin Ru had changed her name to Chloe Wang Le Yan (王樂妍). The reason for the name change–as mentioned in her Weibo–was because she kept getting mistaken for other actresses/singers. So this name change made sense. Her new name does sound nice also. Good move here. No complaints. Not only did she change her name but also her image to fit with this name. Or so it seemed for now.

Oh yeah, Bryant Change of the recently aired True Love 365 changed his English name to Ray. It’s on his Weibo, so that was why I had changed my tag as well when I saw it.

Talking about True Love 365, Winnie Zhong who portrayed Xiao Q in the drama also changed her name to Cathy.

And lastly, but not the most recent one I realized was how Xiao Qiao of the ages ago band 7F had chosen to use “Zhao Xiao Qiao” for her stage name instead of “Zhao Hong Qiao” like it was often credited with her name before. It made sense because people were so used to calling her Xiao Qiao.
